I paid with MI Permit on 1st May 2024…

I paid with MI Permit on 1st May 2024 at Colchester St John’s Car Park. The payment is shown on the app and with my bank but I received a PCN for non payment No way to speak to MI permit on the telephone. This is totally unacceptable and needs investigating.

Useless app

Useless app, downloaded it after waiting ages for it to load. Tried to pay twice and authorised payment with my bank, but when I returned to the app it said payment had been declined. Gave up in the end and found 2 hours free parking on the road.

Thieves, who accuse you of being an idiot

I tried to use (yet another) parking app, authorising the payment in my banking app, only for the MiPermit app to fail with a "network error". With no proof of a ticket, I used the onsite machine & contacted Mi Permit for a refund. Apparently according to the customer service (takes a week to reply every time) I must have used the machine in the car park twice.

Fraudulent payments

I had exactly the same occurrence as other reviewers when trying to register the Mi Permit app to park at Shoreham. An unauthorized charge of £59.99 plus a number of others for £1. Fortunately we noticed the larger payment very quicky & stopped the card but other people may not be so fortunate. Mi permit needs to be aware of this happening.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS. Just like fellow reviewer, I was scammed trying to register for this app in Swansea on 14th April 2024. This time two very convincing sites took my card details and one has charged £59.99 to my bank account, as well as a few smaller amounts. I am now working with my bank to protect my account and recover the money. I have reported the incident to Swansea Council who have washed their hands of it - not their problem and I'm the first to report such an incident...I think not! I've spent many hours now on this for what was a 2 hour visit to Swansea Marina.

Seems very dodgy and best avoided

I just popped in to T/pilot to see if others have had problems or if I was just being daft and not following instructions clearly. Seems I had a lucky escape because I gave up in disgust and used ordinary contactless card payment. This was fine except for it being a bit tetchy in pouring rain.
This was in Chichester but no doubt it's the same everywhere. I couldn't even register my car because it insisted that I had a non-standard reg plate. That would be the standard 2 letters, 2 digits, space and 3 letters then! I tried it with and without the space but to no avail. It seems also my son had previously had £25 mysteriously taken from his account by an apparently unrelated firm after using the app too. Hmm...I'll give it a miss in future. Compare and contrast with Ringgo which has always been reliable and straightforward for me.

Scammed using this app

Zero star rating. BEWARE OF SCAMMERS. I was scammed trying to register for this app in Swansea. A very convincing site, took my card details and tried to charge £59.99 within 24 hours and then monthly for a subscription to musclemood.com, a Czech firm. I had to return home to contact my bank who then cancelled my card and blocked the scammers. Very upsetting, will pay cash from now on.

Stolen card details!

After creating an account with MiPermit and sharing my card details I then received a message from my bank to say my card was trying to be used for 3 transactions in 3 different city councils, coinciding with when I set up my account! Thankfully the bank were onto it straight away and recognised it was fraud although I now have to get a new card. Pretty scary how insecure it is when sharing card details!

Parking in Shrewsbury

Parking in Shrewsbury, paid for a full day the night before by using the App. Got back to my car after a long day to find a parking ticket. The app is supposed to record payments the day after parking expires. 5 days later still not recorded. Luckily, when I paid I did a screen shot of confirmation which I have sent to the council with relevant paperwork. Rubbish system.

MiPermit is absolutely useless, I can't access digital permits, my county council (email contact only no number) is insisting MiPermit can manage permit use over the phone. MiPermit are insisting it has to be managed digitally via App which is impossible. When I call MiPermit, the staff are so rude, unfriendly and unhelpful, they don't listen, then cut their customers off. I have not experienced such awful customer service or had dealings with such a shoddy company in years.

Faulty system

I paid for 5 hours of parking in Loughton (location 737606). The payment appeared in my banking app and apple wallet. When I got back to the car (before the 5 hours had run out), I had a parking ticket. I will never use this app again.

One star is too much

One star is too much. This app is absolutely useless. I have now downloaded and installed it several times. It appears to work at first try, showing a map and various car parks but the next day it will not open. The screen flashes then resets to my normal phone screen. This has happened every time I have tried to use it and on three devices.

MI Permit Is totally useless

MI Permit is designed to drive you crazy. I downloaded the app. When I tried to open it I was told there was no internet or phone connection, despite the fact that I was able to open other websites. When I eventually got to the pay screen I was unable to complete the payment seeing only a continuous charging circle. Trying to contact by phone I waited 20 minutes while a charming lady told me my call was important to them. Trying again at departure I had the same experience but this time I was to,d the call centre was experiencing problems and my call’ could not be answered

Frustrating App - don’t waste your time, it does not work

This App is completely unfit for purpose and incredibly frustrating to use. First I was unable to register my registration details to speed up future car park payments. Thereafter I was unable to process my payment as the app will not allow the final process because the user is unable to complete the booking. I telephoned MiPermit a helpful customer service advisor apologised and stated this was a common problem and successfully registered my vehicle details and payment remotely, she reassured me the problem was resolved. However, the very next time I tried to use the MiPermit app the same thing happened but this time, whereas I had been assured my details had been stored, they were not stored on the app and once again I proceeded through the the booking process but unable to complete the final part of the transaction. MiPermit, please resolve the repeat failures with your app, it’s a nightmare for users trying to register their car using your app, complete waste of time! I have to now either use cash or ask my husband to book my car in. Worst app I have ever used, not good enough!

Disgraceful parking app. Do not use!

I tried to download this app to pay for parking in Weston Super Mare earlier today. Couldn't get it to work so found enough coins to buy a ticket. Checked my banking app to find £1.70 had been taken and an email confirming my subscription to internet services. In the small print it stated that i would be charged £60 per month unless cancelled within 4 days. I will be complaining to North Somerset Council. This is disgraceful.
