Very pleased with Motorway apart from some issues having photos approved, took me around 90 minutes as some photos were very slow to upload and some had to be re taken 4 or 5 times. Apart from the lengthy time taken to have the advert approved the sale went well and payment was received before the car left my driveway.

I sold my car through Motorway expecting the process to be straightforward, but the experience has been incredibly disappointing.

The buying dealer was given a week’s grace to collect because they said they were busy. They then cancelled at the last minute on Wednesday and assured me they would collect late afternoon today. At 5:31pm I called them and was told they were on their way. Two hours later they still hadn’t arrived, and after calling twice more my calls were simply ignored.

The biggest issue for me is Motorway’s lack of supplier vetting. They run the auction platform and choose which dealers are allowed to bid, yet it’s clear they aren’t properly assessing the service these dealers provide. A quick look at some of the dealer reviews would have highlighted the problems.

Selling a car through Motorway means you’re relying on the quality of the dealers they approve. If those dealers waste people’s time, fail to communicate and don’t honour collection arrangements, Motorway has to take responsibility for allowing them onto the platform.

The whole process has been frustrating, wasted my time, and left me questioning how much oversight Motorway actually has over the companies representing them. I certainly wouldn’t use the service again unless they improve the standards expected of their buying network.

Easy and fairly quick way to sell your car. Slightly disappointed with the sale price however you have tha option to not accept the dealers bid. Dealer did try to alter the price however negotiation is all part of the deal. Communication is easy and forms to fill in are straightforward. Just make sure you have all documents to hand and follow the step by step process.
