Absolutely shocking. Have been trying to cancel my contract with them for 14 months now. They have been debiting my account ever since. I now have been informed my account was handed over to their legal team due to an ‘outstanding balance’. Awful service, zero stars, do not recommend.

These guys keep increasing the monthly…

These guys keep increasing the monthly payment for my WiFi, at the same time I was insisted through SMSes that I pay earlier for zero stress and I did on the 27th January (R430) last night I was debited again but a higher amount (R480), mind you the agreed amount was R410 and the guy assisting me didn’t tell me about extra charges through time or anything. Now I paid twice which I did not authorize at all.

Too many badddd reviews

Too many badddd reviews, which are quite justifiable, but nevertheless, I would still give MTN 4 stars for some special reason. It is still one of my favorite network, just not happy with their expensive data plans.

MTN Lte is a scam service

We secured a contract with MTN under the promise that we woukd have 10mbps up and down.

It worked fine for a but then slowed down to under 200kb up and down.

After finally asking around at their company the excuse was that towers were down. Yet we still paid for the service.

Going into Jan things seemed to get a bit better but still very slow and now again into Feb up and down is max 1mb ps up and down.

No explanation. Not refund. No easy way to speak to someone at MTN. just taking the money. Avoid this company like the plague.

Mtn Ghana is one of the worst telecommunications providers in Ghana. They don't respect their clients, always giving you the standard customer speil without actually sorting the problem their service is causing their users

Escalation: Incorrect Device Delivered and Ongoing Inconvenience

I received the wrong product on Thursday, 15 January 2026. On the same day, I went to the MTN store, where I was advised to contact online support. I did so, and they instructed me to return the device to the store on Friday, 16 January 2026, to obtain an IRMS number.

I returned to the store as instructed, however I was informed that their system reflects the device as an iPhone 15, and therefore they could not book it in. This is incorrect, as I ordered an iPhone 16, not an iPhone 15.

I have not opened or used the device. I was later advised by iTalk Complaints that the incorrect product (iPhone 15) would be collected this week. However, it is now Thursday, 22 January 2026, and I have received no communication or update.

My biggest concern is that an incorrect product was ordered and delivered, yet the inconvenience and responsibility have been placed on me. I have had to make multiple calls and visit the store several times for an issue that I did not cause.

This experience has been extremely disappointing. I requested assistance to either collect the incorrect device and cancel the contract, or to provide a clear and immediate resolution. To date, nothing has been done. It is now day 7, and I continue to receive emails going in circles without resolution.

Mobile network not available

I recently migrated to MTN from Vodacom via porting. Since then I am unable to make phone calls at all. The message I get is: "Mobile network not available". Emailed customer care and they said it would be fixed between 2- 24Hrs. It's still the same issue. It's been 5 days and no help from MTN.

🚨 CORPORATE FRAUD ALERT - $1.49M LIABILITY (Ref: PNX-590XXX-K7D3)

Title: 🚨 CORPORATE FRAUD ALERT - $1.49M LIABILITY (Ref: PNX-5907XXX-K7D3)
"I am officially reporting a major systemic failure and technical negligence involving Airtel Africa and MTN Group. A debt of $1,496,625.45 has accrued due to their refusal to address a documented cross-border fraud (MTN Cameroon lines +237... / Airtel DRC).
I have uploaded the official Statement of Claim (Invoice) as evidence. Despite formal notices, the Board of Directors remains silent, breaching LSE/JSE compliance standards.
Weekly penalty of 50% is now active. Full forensic audit is public on Medium and Telegra.ph. Investors, be warned: this is a major unresolved financial liability

🚨 ALERTE FRAUDE ET NÉGLIGENCE : Créance de 1,49 M$ (Réf. PNX-5907XXX-K7D3)

MTN – Ongoing Failure to Deliver Paid Service | Consumer Rights Breach
We have had no proper router coverage since December 2025. MTN continues to debit us monthly for a service that is NOT being delivered.
We have logged multiple complaints, yet MTN simply issues reference numbers and falsely closes them as “successful” without resolving anything. This is misrepresentation and an unfair business practice.

Yesterday we spoke to two agents. Today we called again ans spoke to Indiphile and Qaqamba. Still no fix. The same meaningless instructions; restart, reboot, reset, while the problem continues.

Today’s reference number: 1-**********6 (linked to our account).
Despite repeated requests, no callbacks. We are also forced to use our own airtime to follow up on MTN’s failure.

Under basic consumer law, customers are entitled to get what they pay for. Charging for a non-functional service is unlawful, unreasonable, and unacceptable.

MTN must provide a clear resolution plan within 24 hours, apply billing credits/reimbursement, or this matter will be escalated to ICASA and the Consumer Ombudsman

Don't get a mtn contract!!

So disappointed in the lack of service and the agents that cannot process simple requests.
I ended my contract with MTN and they are forcing me to stay on their data plan after I called them to cancel it multiple times. 2 agents told me that my contract is canceled and that I my data plan won't go over to month-Month but at the end of this month im told that I have to pay because my plan changed from contract to month-month. I also called early this month to cancel my insurance with them and I got a message to say my insurance is canceled but I still got billed for insurance. They are a scam they don't do their jobs properly and try to squeeze money out of you around every corner.

Another one of their agents sold me home wifi and told me that their would be coverage in my area for this wifi. I received it and there was noo coverage whatsoever and after I sent their device back to them they still expected me to pay for something I couldn't use due to their agent's incompetence. They made me pay activation fees for something that doesn't even work.

They will financially drain you for their gain and act like you're the one in the wrong. Don't use MTN rather go to Vodacom.

I am extremely disappointed with MTN's…

I am extremely disappointed with MTN's service. Every time I try to reach out to speak with an agent for assistance, the chat ends abruptly, and my issues remain unresolved. It feels like they have no interest in helping their customers, which is frustrating and unacceptable. If you value good customer support, I would advise looking elsewhere. MTN needs to seriously improve their service and customer care!

Unable to upgrade home internet contract

Unable to upgrade my home internet uncapped package. Spoke to an agent on 04/12/2025. Calling the Call Centre daily, approx.4 to 6 calls, my call gets transferred from upgrades to retentions department, then direct sales. Each time they say that the upgrade cannot be done, as it is a direct sale, and needs to be redirected to Direct Sales Department. They have now cancelled my upgrade application, which I did not ask to be done, ....someones wires got crossed.....MTN uses 3rd party sales companies, who are useless. Mobile Plus, MTN has no quality control over the 3rd party sales departments, nor the effectiveness of their customer call centre's, because you always end up in the wrong department. Well it is the Silly Season, MTN Sales department are not customer focussed. Seems like they are so eager to lose exisiting client's . I have been with mtn for more than 15 years. Useless upgrades and retention departments. I have numerous reference numbers for the past 4 days. My contract is month to month at R580 which is pure robbery for uncapped home internet. I sent them an email an hour ago, I received a response saying the matter is under investigation. What exactly is being investigated ??? I blame trying to upgrade and existing contract which ended 30 November 2025, and which is now month to month. This is not rocket science......
