Tried to fix it, but still issues and no follow-up
I had my windscreen replaced by National Windscreens in Kilmarnock. The first glass (XYG) had a really bad distortion (“lens effect”) that actually affected vision. To be fair, after I raised a claim, their support team responded well and arranged a replacement.
On the second visit, they fitted a Lucas windscreen. The distortion is still there along the lower edge on the driver’s side, although not as bad as before. But the bigger problem is the installation quality.
During the work, the interior A-pillar trim on the driver’s side was scratched along most of its length. The external side mouldings also don’t sit properly anymore — they don’t fit back into place, there are visible gaps, and you can even see the fixings. So clearly something didn’t go right during the installation.
The technician saw this himself and said he couldn’t fix it on the spot and would speak to management and call me back. I never received that call. I also contacted support again and was told someone would get in touch, but so far no one has.
At this point, I’m okay keeping the second windscreen, but the quality of the work and the damage caused during installation are not acceptable.
It’s just a bit strange — they were quick to fix the first issue, but after the second visit, where new problems appeared, there’s been no follow-up at all. After almost a weak still waiting to hear back.

windscreen repair
I got a time to get my windscreen fitted. I was on time and the operator was ready and waiting. my car went in on time and the operator said it would take approx.
1& 1/2 hrs. and gave me directions to a place to get lunch. He was very polite and helpful.
Could not ask for anything better
