Great communication efficient service

Excellent service from first contact to completion of windscreen being fitted. Top job done by the operative.

From first contact all went well. I used the Nottingham branch, easy to find with ample parking. All the staff were polite, nicely turned out, and most importantly knowledgeable. The windscreen was fixed and I was sent away with detailed instructions. A great experience.

I had booked to have my windscreen and wipers replaced via my insurance provider due to a cracked windscreen.

I dropped off the car, as requested, between 8:30 and 9:00 with the expectation that I would have my car back by 12:30 latest.

Given that the transport routes to where I live aren't great, I had planned to burn time in/around town.
By 14:30 I hadn't heard anything so I gave them a call, only to be told probably another hour - well beyond what I was initially told.
When I went to pick up the car, I was told that they couldn't replace the wipers which is something I had paid extra for. I haven't received that refund yet, but it's still early days.

The gent, Aiden, who I spoke to was perfectly pleasant and helpful, and the windscreen replacement job itself, to the best of my knowledge, has been well done, so I don't have any complaints on that front at all.

The waiting time and the fact that the wipers were not available was particularly poor though, given that I had to book in advance I would expect the parts to be sourced ahead of the job being completed.

7 hours is far too long to have a customer wait - not everybody can easily return home or make a day of out having car work done, especially given that I was directed to use National Windscreens through my insurer so I didn't have much of a choice of location. It would be much better to have shorter appointment windows like certain garages have so you can better plan around the job.

Needless to say, I would return to have windshield work done again if needed, I can't fault them on that, but other areas need improving.

There was a problem with the tint of the 1st glass that was very quickly dealt with. The 2nd glass was rushed in fitting it. To make up time the fitter rushed the job & left broken glass under the NEW PU sealant rather than removing it 1st. The glass was also not flush with the body surround of the car on the drivers side, It is sticking outwards. This i found out later. The fitter though was polite & was friendly. I would of liked a little less of a rushed service. Comms/ phone calls prior to fitting was good.
