I bought my Niche Zero several years ago and have been using it paired with a Gaggia Pro or a simple dripper. The Niche handles both espresso and filter coffee well with the simple turn of a dial. And with very little waste/loss even between grind settings.
Truly an innovation when it was launched there have been many imitators since but none of them look as nice as the Niche. The workflow is a simple single dose in and grind into the cup.
Cleaning is fairly simple when you get to it but not often needed as what you put in comes out. Adjustment and reassembly is incredibly easy.
There are better more specialist grinders out there and cheaper ones too. But the versatility of the Niche Zero sets it apart. The espresso may not be as nice as a flat burr grinder but it is not as expensive as those and it can grind filter. The filter brews may not be as full rounded as some grinders but they cost more and can't get anywhere near espresso. And the cheaper grinders will do the job but maybe not as easily or nicely.

Bought my Niche Zero grinder from Niche almost 5 years ago when they were still on indiegogo.
I recently needed a replacement flow control disc. A small plastic disc and got bought one on their website for $10 plus free shipping from UK to New Zealand.
They've got a great and well deserved reputation and excellent after sales support and care.

Super happy with this grinder. I have been using it for 4 years now, still without any complaints.

Niche has come a long way since the initial crowdfunding campaign in 2017. The Niche Zero was the first affordable single dosing grinder that opened the market for a number of following competitors. Apart from general appraisal for its quality and durability by several influencers, to me it is proof that their concept is right because the concept and configuration was never changed over the years. Doesn't mean there were improvements in manufacturing quality, but the grinder still has the same specifications today.
But features is only one thing to consider when selecting a grinder, the quality of the output is what you really enjoy every time you prepare a coffee. The conical burrs deliver full flavours very typical for this kind of burrs. Consistent and reliable one can be sure to get the same result every time.
With their relatively new model Duo, Niche again had a different approach towards the market, being the first grinder with easily swappable 83mm flat burrs coming with both dedicated espresso and filter burrs. Hence the name Duo. For those with a desire to have a more distinguished flavour profile, this was a huge step forward.

An even more outstanding and widely recognized advantage of Niche is their exceptional customer service. There is literally no one being left alone with any kind of potential issue. If ever required, their responses are fast and accurate, shipping surprisingly fast. Highly beneficial is the relatively simple ways to change parts yourself. With the right tools and attitude anything can be replaced easily.

Very positive is also an active Facebook community (the relevant group is "Niche Grinder Owners") as a great option to share experience and optimize the use of the grinder, independent of any support by the manufacturer.

In a nutshell:
Excellent grinder. Excellent service. Perfect investment.

I'm not saying that there are no other excellent grinders on the market. But for the same quality and grinding results you need to aim at a significantly higher price point. Funny to see how any new grinder announced as "Niche killer" is on the one hand always using Niche as the ultimate reference (which is saying something in itself) and on the other hand is always failing to actually deliver to their claim.

What is my only regret? Maybe a bit that I didn't have enough trust to invest during the initial IndiGogo campaign back in 2017.

I love my Niche Zero, bought it in early 2022 and now needed a spare part. I reached out to the support team via mail and James responded instantly. The provided support is excellent and very fast-responding. Today I received my spare and fixed it in minutes. The grinder is well built and easy to maintain.

I have been using a Niche Zero grinder since 2018. I am completely satisfied with its performance. I needed to obtain a replacement part from Niche. The service I received from James at Niche was rapid, effective and friendly. I was assisted to troubleshoot the problem I was having and to identify the part I needed.

I've used the Niche Zero for over 3 years now and the user experience on this grinder is simply amazing. This grinder is an excellent grinder fit for grinding any coffee bean needed for any coffee beverage. There is little to no retention per grind, and the experience is consistent from shot to shot for espresso, leading to repeatable, consistent and tasty shots. It is easy to dial in the grinder, and combined with the zero retention, switching between beans and beverages still leads to a consistent experience per shot as I can easily change to a different dial setting and still have a consistent experience.

In addition to this, the grinder is easy to maintain. All the tools necessary to perform basic maintenance are provided, and the grinder is easy to dissemble and clean. The availability of spare parts is also a huge boon. For example, replacing the gearbox and motor within the Niche Zero is an easy experience in case of issues, so reducing the cost of maintenance is a huge gain for the Niche Zero without needing servicing from third party providers. The Niche Coffee team is also happy to provide after warranty support for this grinder, so the longevity of the product is enhanced, which in my opinion is one of the strongest selling points for me.

Overall, I am a happy customer of the Niche Zero and for me, it is an easy recommendation for others new to their coffee journey or for someone looking to resolve grind issues with other grinders in the market. Shoutout to Martin and James, and the rest of the Niche Coffee team for designing such an amazing grinder, and for the after-warranty support provided!

My coffee connoisseur friends finally convinced me to upgrade from my cheap coffee grinder that sounded like a 747 taking off.

Firstly, the machine is beautiful and looks fabulous in the kitchen. No cheap plastic like my cheap grinder and a toggle switch for operation which is just so satisfyingly tactile to use.

Secondly, the machine is so quiet when operated. This is a standout feature among all the models I looked out. My previous grinder was over 90db, this one is more than 20db quieter. When I operated my my previous grinder, conversations stopped. But with the Niche, you don't even need to raise your voice to continue your conversation.

Finally, it does what you'd want a good coffee grinder to do... it grinds coffee really well! I can't say I notice the difference to my previous model that much, but it's much more precise controlling the grind so I can get the perfect puck for an optimal draw.

On an aside, I dropped Niche a line with a query and I got a quick and helpful response.

It's an expensive machine, but you get quality that looks like it will last. Highly recommended!

Broken Switch
Customer Service was incredibly responsive to my issue with a broken power switch. Was instantly able to diagnose what I needed. Provided me with the ability to purchase a replacement part and guide to fix it 15 minutes. Excellent experience all around

This grinder does not come cheap, but the ease of use and quality of grinds more than make up for it.

At this price, you are buying a beautiful equipment that you are proud to have on your countertop. This grinder is simple, elegant and allows fine adjustments of various grind sizes to be used for brewing coffee in all the different ways possible.

Bought my Niche more than 4 years ago and working like the first day without a single problem

I've been using the Niche Zero for nearly four years now, and it’s easily one of the best coffee-related investments I’ve made.

First and foremost, it’s incredibly easy to use, clean, and calibrate. Whether you’re a seasoned coffee enthusiast or just starting to experiment with different grind sizes, the workflow is effortless. The design makes it simple to dial in the right settings without unnecessary complexity.

One of the standout features is its seamless grind adjustment. I can go from a fine espresso grind to a coarse French press (cafetiere) grind with zero hassle. Unlike some grinders that struggle with consistency at different levels, the Niche Zero delivers uniform results across the board.

After nearly four years of daily use, it’s still running strong with no drop in performance. If you're looking for a high-quality single-dose grinder that’s user-friendly and versatile, the Niche Zero is hard to beat.

Love the Niche Zero grinder but it took a few weeks before I could start using it properly as the burr screw was loose when it arrived. I had no idea this wasn't supposed to happen so I made tens of espressos that were pretty awful. Customer service offered some suggestions and told me to post on the facebook group asking for help. Not giving me a lot of confidence but fortunately I was able to identify the issue and now it's all working nicely.

Shipped much faster than original estimate. Well packed and in immaculate condition. Grinder is fantastic, the hype is real. Some criticism about grinding for filter coffee was justified initially in my experience, but after having the grinder for 9 months, the burrs have seasoned very nicely and the quality of filter coffee it produces has improved a lot. Lost one star because the unit they shipped me did not have the retention bolt on the burr assembly torqued down properly and came loose after the second or third use. But I tightened it down and it has been fine ever since.
