Steer clear
Rude and uncommunicative. Surveyor didn't properly introduce himself and declare what he would do and how long it would take. Didn't ask to view different parts of the house, just came in and went about his business as if he owned the house-only spoke to me if he couldn't find something he needed. Then I had to take a work call and he decided that was a good time to ask me a long list of questions about the property even though I kept telling him I had to take a call, he didn't leave my office. Eventually he did leave and then just left the house while I was on my 10 minute call without even saying goodbye.

Danny was excellent!!
Danny was super efficient and speedy when conducting his survey on our first home. He had the survey completed and report sent on the very same day. We were very pleased by how thorough and detailed the report was and it has helped us enormously with the knowledge of any works needed on our new home.

Simon was incredibly helpful and provided a very thorough report of his findings in the property. It was detailed and comprehensive, and he was always willing to engage over the phone where necessary to answer any follow-up questions I had and recommend contractors that might be able to help with repairs. It gave me a lot of peace of mind and a good understanding of what I needed to do in the property going forward.

Great professional service!
We are very happy with the service Ian has done for us! We received a very in depth report with a lot of helpful tips on how to mend anything which wasn’t particularly great with the house! Professionally written and still easy to understand, it was all explained very well. Would definitely recommend Novello to anyone needing surveying work when trying to buy a home!

I would not recommend this company.
I paid over £800 based on the quotation they provided, only to be told several days later that the service would actually cost 30% more due to their own quoting error. I was given the option to pay the additional amount or cancel, so I requested a refund immediately.
Despite promising the refund within 5–10 business days, they failed to return my money and have continued to hold over £800 for weeks while providing no service. This has unnecessarily delayed my property purchase and forced me to spend time chasing money that should have been refunded promptly.
A very disappointing experience with poor customer service and an unacceptable handling of a straightforward refund.

We are genuinely sorry that your experience fell short of the standard we aim to provide. Unfortunately, an error occurred during the quotation process and, which the surveyor identified, this is quite a rare thing to happen even so we fully recognise the frustration this caused and apologise for the inconvenience.
We are very sorry that the refund took longer than it should have done. We understand that this added to your frustration, particularly given the concerns you had already raised. As explained yesterday, the delay arose due to human error, and we have since taken corrective action to address the issue and help ensure it does not happen again. Thank you for allowing us to resolve this matter with you directly yesterday and for excepting our goodwill gesture in recognition of the delay and inconvenience caused.

Great Service
I was really impressed with the whole process, booking was quick and easy and the service was great. Danny Price performed my survey and was very Helpful and quick, he rang me prior to see if there's anything I wanted him to have an extra look at and rang me as soon as he had done it to give me a verbal update. And a report followed the next day which was brilliant!

We used Novello for our level 3 survey…
We used Novello for our level 3 survey and experience excellent service. We were called straight after the survey to highlight immediate issues and sent the survey in a timely manner. It was very detailed and thorough. We also had the option to have a call after to go over in detail. We ended up pulling out of the property and fully believe Novello saved us a lot of heartache in buying a potential money pit. We will definitely be using them again when we secure another property.

Charli from Novello Charted Surveyors produced a brilliant survey report on a house I’m currently in the process of buying. All evidence provided to me was explained and all my questions have been answered in the report. Any further questions I had I was able to discuss and get answers for over the phone. The process was hastle free and very quick for what I believe to be a very reasonable price. The communication though out the process from initially receiving a quote with Raymond, to receiving the final report from Charli, was outstanding and It has given me a very good understanding of the property I’m buying!

Independence and Professional Objectivity
Concerns Regarding Independence and Perceived Conflicts of Interest
Having previously experienced a property sale collapsing as a direct result of a survey commissioned by the purchaser, I am acutely aware of the significant influence a surveyor’s report can have on the outcome of a transaction. In that instance, the buyers withdrew following the survey findings, reinforcing the importance of surveyors being, and being seen to be, entirely independent.
It was therefore surprising and disappointing to be offered surveying services by the same firm for my onward purchase shortly after they had completed the survey on the property I was buying. Whilst this may be standard marketing practice, it creates an unnecessary perception of a conflict of interest and risks undermining confidence in the independence and impartiality that consumers are entitled to expect from a professional surveying practice.

Ahsan Shad did our Level 2 and produced an incredibly thorough report. He gave us a ring right after he completed the inspection to give initial findings. Later, we had some questions that arose from our solicitors and Ahsan went above and beyond to give us the opportunity to talk things through.
