Great choice of products which are of good quality. Prices are reasonable especially when there is a special offer running. Staff always very helpful and on site car parking really helps.

Excellent goods/services - remove delivery charges
I love OKA and have shopped there for many years. I’m lucky that the Harrogate store is only a 7 minute drive away from home so have plenty of opportunities to pop in for a browse, which more often than not ends up with a purchase!
The people are always really helpful and know when to come and chat or leave you to it. The store layout is also very inspiring.
My big issue is the addition of a delivery charge and it’s an excessive charge…unlike other retailers the more you buy the more you pay 🤔. This new policy has definitely reduced the amount I buy from OKA. The reason for introducing it I’m told is that people would order lots of items and then send them back. If this is the case why not waive the delivery charge for your VIP customers who have shopped with you for many years and don’t abuse the system… and waive the delivery charge if items are delivered to store. I understand there is limited storage, so agree a day that the customer has to collect for free, otherwise charge them - problem solved!
I’m waiting OKA to see if you read your customer reviews and if you do what you have to say!

We’re sorry to hear of your disappointment regarding our delivery charges and can confirm that the reason for implementing the tiered fees is to reflect the cost of picking, packing, and transportation. Like many businesses in our sector, we’ve faced significant increases in employment costs, the National Living Wage, and fuel prices and we still cover a substantial part of the delivery cost ourselves.

Samantha was so helpful and patient . We wanted a floor lamp but there were so many to choose from. She took the time to show us many options of bases and shades until we found the perfect one. We are extremely happy with our choice.

Saw a light fitting on the Oka website, rang the Harrogate branch to ask a few questions and asked if the fitting could be put to one side to be collected later in the day. The girls packaged the light up and I collected within a couple of hours. Fab customer service. Really lovely, helpful girls in the store

Staff were friendly
Staff were friendly, the store was a pleasure to walk around. However, we wanted to buy what we thought were 3 cushions oy to find that we were actually buying 3 cushion covers.The pads were priced separately, although this was not clear. At a cost of £18 pounds each, this added to the cost considerably and I feel that, as all cushions are displyed complete with the pads, the total price should be what is shown on the price tag, therefore giving customers a transparent total cost

Hot & Cold. Accolades & Brickbats.
We entered the store to be greeted perfunctorily with no smile by a sales assistant. The store was empty. We had the good fortune to see a gentleman from Newcastle whilst we were browsing. He bent over backwards to help us. We bought 3 lamps & two shades which he helped us with & took a lot of time whilst we deliberated. Thanking him we went to pay for our items. The assistant who took our payments whilst not obviously rude lacked warmth, no smile & was somewhat indifferent. Another assistant …the unsmiling first assistant ….started talking to her & they both discussed something not pertaining to us as we were being served. There was no apology or an “excuse me”. When my friend & I left after paying we said ThankYou & goodbye . Only then was a goodbye response given by the assistant . She did not even look up . As many have found with the Harrogate store it lacks warmth & friendliness. A smile costs nothing. If only the wonderful visiting Newcastle gentleman could stay . He was helpful , warm, & massively patient which is why we purchased. Both my friend & I, as we walked home, spoke & agreed on our experience. The gentleman sales assistant would receive full marks with bells on. Our shopping experience was marred by the two resident sales women. The lamps & shades are brilliant.

On the While Good
After a bit of a discussion about whether a refund could be given on a faulty cushion cover, I found the sales lady to be very helpful and informative as she presented lots of different options.
The returns policy is not great though.As the manager was in a meeting I was initially told to contact customer service. I bought the cover from the shop.
