If you’re planning to visit Sri Lanka, Olanka is the best company I can suggest. We had a 10 day trip and it was awesome. Special thanks to Shanuka, our guide, and Subodini, tour executive, for such a curated tour and great experience. Cheers guys

The best guide and driver, Mr Tushara from Olanka Travel. I wanted to do a Ramayana Trail from Colombo to Kandy to Nuwara Eliya and safari at Yala and whale watching in Mirissa.
Mr Tushara is knowledgeable; very careful driver and most of all extremely accommodating and help.

Our itinerary, though packed, managed to be fulfilled for the entire 5 days.

The booking process was easy, Navodya was able to include all our requested destinations, even adding a couple that we had overlooked and fit it into a timeframe that suited our holiday.
The actual trip coincided with Cycle Ditwah so changes were required whilst in country due to access/flooding etc. Our driver Amila and Navodya were incredibly flexible having to change routes, destinations and accommodation to enable us to see as much as we did. It was a great experience albeit at a tough time for the country.

We planned a trip to Sri Lanka for November 2025 and initially contacted a company in Australia and Sri Lanka. That experience did not go well and we became very nervous.
We contacted Olanka Travels and connected with Reshani . We expressed our concerns and fears. Reshani was amazing. She offered to connect us with Olanka clients in Australia to understand their experiences. She addressed our fears of making payments to the company without knowing too much about the company. She arranged that after the deposit was paid the balance of the account would not became payable until we had actually arrived in Sri Lanka and met up with a company representative. I was sold; I knew I had met someone I could trust.
We told Reshani where we thought we wanted to go and what our interests were and what style of accommodation we required. Reshani went to work on our behalf.
She emailed us an itinerary which we had to either approve or adjust. She sent us two lists of suggested hotels for our consideration and approval.
She informed us of the very reasonable cost of the whole 18 day trip.
The cost covered the driver, a very helpful and considerate person, the hotels, breakfast and dinner every day; as well as the cost of a safari and other side tours.
My wife and I met up with Reshani near the end of the trip in Colombo. We discovered that she had been in contact with our driver almost every day of the trip to ensure that everything was going according to plan. We appreciated that.
I cannot praise the skills and commitment of Reshani high enough and therefore, Olanka Travels.

We have not long come back from our 15 day tour of Sri Lanka organized by Olanka travel , Olanka travel did wonderful job in organizing the holiday sending all the information , hotel options ,with tailor made tour, Shanika, organized the tour, and made changes to one of our hotel stays, we were met at the airport by there representative, who showed us to our car and driver who was Sanduwm , you could not have had a better person to take us on our tour, he helped make our holiday, he could not do enough for us, Florence misses your driving, he organized the elephant safari, arranged a tour guide for the temple of the Tooth relic, he put us on the train to ELLA , organised our whale watching ,he really looked after us , he was informative, fun, made a great companion for the 15 days. a couple of niggles the grand tamarind hotel at Yala was not that inviting, also would have nice to be told that there was a drive up a mountain in a jeep which took an hour and shook our bodies , not good if you have nervous disposition looking over cliff edge. but worth it when arrived at the Rain forest lodge, the staff were brilliant, all the hotels were wonderful , we have such great memories to many to mention. would like to say a big thankyou to all the Sri Lankan people who we met. a big thankyou to Olanka travel for organizing this tour which we will not forget. and a very very big thankyou to Sanduwn who helped make our tour unforgettable ,if anybody wants a brilliant holiday come to Sri Lanka use Olanka Travel you will not be let down.

We just returned from an unforgettable holiday in Sri Lanka, and I can’t thank Olanka Travels enough for making it so seamless and special. Traveling with my two kids, I was initially a bit anxious about managing everything—but from the moment we landed, everything was taken care of with such professionalism and warmth.

Our itinerary covered Bentota, Yala, Mirissa, and Colombo, and every destination was a delight. A huge shoutout to Divyaanjali, our tour representative, who was incredibly responsive, attentive, and ensured every detail was perfectly arranged.

But the real star of our journey was our driver, Dayal. He wasn’t just a driver—he was our guide, local expert, and by the end, a friend. He took us to all the must-see spots, shared great recommendations for food and experiences, and was always ready to help with a smile. What truly touched me was how beautifully he connected with my kids—they absolutely adored him, and he made the trip extra fun and memorable for them.

From our initial enquiries to the end of the tour, everything was managed well. We felt we were listened to and able to adapt an itinerary to suit our needs. Our driver was careful, knowledgeable and friendly, reliable and punctual, and the selected accommodation was of a good standard. The price was also competitive. We would highly recommend the company.

Me and my wife visited Srilanka on our wedding anniversary for a week..We started from Colombo, Kandi, Nuwara Eliya, Yale, Bentota and back to Colombo..The booking were good and we an amazing driver Mr Douglus who was very good throughout the journey. His driving was perfect and he was a perfect guide by Coming along with us for places to see..
We had good experiences..🥳

The overall tour was well managed and specially comfortable for my parents.

Our trip arranged by olanka was truly memorable. The entire process ws seamless from booking. What made our trip extra special was our Driver and guide Thushara. He gave us detailed ourview of each location and also entertained our 2 year old son so we could get a few moments to ourselves during shopping/ photos. Thushara gifted us a beautiful memento to make our trip memorable as well. Would highly recommend asking for Thushara while doing your trip. The weather played foul sometimes, but Thushara was ready with umbrellas and always open to changes in our schedule as per our comfort.
Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and people like Thushara make the experience more memorable.

The arrangements done by Olanka were simply superb and the point of contact at Olanka (Ms Rashmi) is one of the most polite and friendly individuals I've known.
This was my second vacation trip through Olanka and Ms Rashmi

Good communication with the agent Rashmi, great driver Lakmal, really enjoyed the things we saw. Very well organised, however the only issue for me was when we initially got a quote, and we got told that we had three weeks to decide, it wasn’t made clear that the quote was only available unless the hotels were booked up. Reservations should be held if there is a due date stated in the quote. Because of this, the itinerary changed and the price went up, even to the point where we had to organise a hotel for ourselves for a brief period (easily managed via booking.com but not what was expected). The tour was definitely worth it and planks did well to accommodate our needs/wants. I do recommend them though and they give you a very warm welcome to the island.

We have had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Olanka Travel. The company appears responsive and helpful only up until payment is made—after that point, the service becomes completely unprofessional and unreliable.
We initially opted to change our travel plans and were issued a voucher, which we were told could be used toward a new booking. However, when it came time to actually use the voucher, the quoted price inexplicably skyrocketed. In an attempt to make it work, we agreed to remove several activities and two nights of accommodation. Despite these substantial changes, the overall price dropped by only around $300—an amount that clearly does not reflect the value of what was removed. This strongly suggests that Olanka Travel is deliberately inflating prices to extract as much money as possible from customers.
Additionally, we were suddenly informed that only one voucher could be used toward the booking—information that had never been disclosed to us previously. We have now requested a copy of this alleged "policy" twice via email, and have yet to receive any evidence of its existence. This lack of transparency leads us to believe that the policy either does not exist or is being invented as a way to avoid honoring the full value of what we are owed.
After comparing prices externally, we discovered that Olanka Travel was inflating the total trip cost by the amount of the voucher, only to then "deduct" that same amount—essentially nullifying the voucher’s value while falsely appearing to apply it. This is deceptive and unethical.
We are in the process of filing a formal complaint with the Consumer Affairs Authority, as these practices are not only misleading but potentially illegal. We strongly urge anyone considering Olanka Travel to avoid them entirely, as their dishonest tactics will likely end up costing you far more than expected.

We just recently planned a trip with Olanka who were so accommodating & very patient with all my changes . The meals , accommodation, tours & driver were exceptional . I would highly recommend this company for a well planned trip . 10 out of 10 !!

Trip to Sri lanka
My husband, daughter and I visited Sri Lanka for the first time in August 2025 and we chose Olanka Travels to plan our holiday. It turned out to be a truly wonderful experience.
Our travel agent, Chamathsara, did an outstanding job. Thanks to her, we were able to visit many beautiful places, immerse in the rich culture, explore historic sites and enjoy the amazing food. She went the extra mile for us, always checking in and making sure everything was going smoothly during our stay. She has now become a dear friend to us.
Our driver, Samitha was also very easygoing, drove carefully and made sure we discovered some truly memorable places along the way.
We are very grateful for the warm hospitality and excellent service, and we would wholeheartedly recommend Olanka Travels to anyone planning a holiday in Sri Lanka.
