Disconnected 1 month before end of contract

When we fall behind with payments for whatever reason, companies like Origin can immediately punish customers by impacting negatively their credit score, on the other hand when companies do something similar to what Origin did, by disconnecting our service one month before end of contract, without notice, or reason, as we were not behind with our direct debit! What recourse do we have???

When I spoke to one of Origins agents I was informed that my line had been captured? My response was, but I’m still in contract, I was informed by the agent that he would need to look into it? He would however call me back that same morning, he mentioned that any reconnection would take at least 10 days! I’m still waiting for the call back? I am currently without internet
I’m not surprised Origins feed back on here is as low as it is

If there was no stars I would prefer to…

If there was no stars I would prefer to give that instead of one as this is too high.
AVOID at all costs they are a nasty company when I signed up they assured me sky q would be compatible however it was not their own tech team confirmed to me they have lots of issues with this particular problem not to mention the broadband is shoddy and very unreliable. I left my contract early and opened a dispute with the ombudsman which origin are now disputing.
Please do not sign up with this company they have now asked me to never contact them again and speak directly to the ombudsman they also passed my details over to CRS debt recovery they will not get a penny from me as the service they provided is shoddy and the customer service is an absolute disgrace !!!

Amazing customer service from Callum

We are new customers to origin and we were having trouble getting our router connected. We got through to Callum who was lovely and very experienced. He helped us through step by step and gave wonderful advice. If it weren’t for him this morning we would still be without internet. So thank you Callum :)

Not that cheap, nasty and corrupt.

Never actually got the service they offered as it didn't work. Cancelled within the cooling off period and send their stuff back at my own cost. Yesterday after 2 months I got a fine warning that for early closure of my account I owe them (Via a text message from CRS that doesn't allow a response) £663.31 Next trip to the Ombudsman. If there's a class action started can people be informed please? I'm sure there are over a thousand interested parties.

I don’t understand why you didn’t like my truthful review

I don’t understand why after giving Origin broadband my details why they have not responded to my review.
Would it be because they are nothing but a cheap skate lying and deceitful excuse for a broadband service.
Talk to me there’s a lot more I can tell you about the underhanded way your company is run.

Worst company ever avoid

I am currently disputing my case with the ombudsman. This company are the worst I have ever been unfortunate to deal with. Despite them giving me an ADR letter to take my case to ombudsman they still passed my details to CRS debt collectors. They were asking for a ridiculous amount of £694. It took numerous emails and final the ombudsman direct messaging before they agreed to put the account on hold. Please PLEASE avoid this company. You have been warned!!

GILLIAN YEOMAN

please reach out to me I'm in the same boat I don't know how to contact you!!

Finally

Finally! After 5 months, no service, no wifi, no internet..nothing...but a bill for £300 + . Joke. No I am NOT paying. I work within local government, and you are currently under investigation. You are a scam company, deceiving hundreds of people. If you take me to court, I am sure the many people on here and the local ombudsmen will show what sort of company you are. Horrendous treatment.

Absolute rip off of a company

Absolute rip off of a company. Cancelled my internet after not even using it as I found a better deal. And 2 months after cancelling I get a £335.88 bill. Tried to contact them via online no response called up and tried to set up a payment plan with them.( another joke experience) Regret ever signing up to such a company. Nothing but a scam. And very rarely helpful

Rubbish - don't waste your money

Rubbish - don't waste your money. Speeds are slow, dropouts happen multiple times a day, there are constant DNS issues, the speeds are consistently slower than advertised, I get random IP assignments from Yorkshire that causes servers to pick the most ridiculous routes (bear in mind I live 250 miles away in Southampton!)... I could go on but it's making my blood pressure go up just thinking about it.

Don't bother. Pick another provider.

Reliably unreliable connection; unhelpful tech support; spiteful

Their service failed many times every single day for the months that I was with them. I depend on a steady internet connection for my work and education. I tried hard to resolve the issue, making many phonecalls, but they did nothing to help. And the final time that I tried calling them they hung up on me, on the tech support line. At this point I switched to EE, whose service has been unfaltering and only slightly more expensive. In response, Origin Broadband, despite never providing me with the service I was paying for, have decided to pursue payments of several hundred pounds through a debt collector because the contract was terminated early, despite EE paying them £50 to cover any administration costs for the transfer. I am disgusted by the attitude of Origin Broadband, and would advise everyone to avoid them.

Miss Sold Broadband & 30 Days Refund!

I was deliberately miss-sold broadband at just 15mb saying it was more to an suitable for gaming and streaming (nowhere near). I cancelled within TEN MINUTES but they want THIRTY days to return my £17.99. They are a massive shambles. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy!

So glad I moved to another provider

Origin are useless. Even more useless than openreach. Between them it took 6 months, 3 missed engineer's visits and me writing to my MP before they finally fixed my broadband connection.

Origin will lie to you about booking engineers, they will lie that they have fixed the problem, they will lie about anything that buys them more time. I couldn't even get out of the contract despite their terrible uptime. Origin broabdand dies like clockwork about 3am every morning. I suspect their servers run on potatoes and they fired all their useful staff so they could fill out their really braindead customer support. Don't even get me started on the customer support who don't care and are actually worse than useless. They actively delay and tell you that an engineer's visit is not available for 2 weeks (pre-covid) when calling up openreach (who I got a contact number for only after writing to my MP) they had an engineer out the next day.

UK broadband is a shambles and origin is the worst of the bunch.

DO NOT GO WITH THEM HOWEVER CHEAP THEY SEEM

This is their old website

This is their old website. Now they are using the ORIGINBROADBAND.COM. And obviously the reviews are much better there - who would have thought!
What a bunch of useless people. Having my 3rd complaint with them and they don't even bother replying to me.
AVOID THEM!
Been having technical issues with their router for about 4 months and they are not offering any solution. Blaming it on interference.
Made the last complaint to cancel my contract without an exit fee - not getting a reply and they are avoiding to get in touch. They even pretended calling me then they sent an email that I missed their call. Are you guys serious?!
I'm gonna take this to the Communication Ombudsman.
