There is non customer service at all.

I being waiting in the line more than 45 minuts, and still have no answer. All this to set up a new home to PAY THEM. Absolutly disaster, for more than 30 minuts they are saying my time in waiting list is less than 10 minuts. The customer service is does not exist, so if you have the option, go with other company who at least speak with you.

Complete nightmare

I have read many reviews on here and cannot agree with them more - one of them is an exact copy of my own experience with OVO. They need to have a dedicated person to deal with individual cases as each additional person at OVOs side creates additional problems. Sending demands for monies not owed is not acceptable especially when an amended/corrected bill is awaited prior to being able to pay it. OVOs errors become customers problems !!

What a joke of a company to get hold…

What a joke of a company to get hold of. Lines don’t open on time I’m 4th in-line and I’ve been waiting an hour and moved up one slot. It’s awful how they treat customers I try to ring when not in work. Spent my whole lunchtime yesterday and still couldn’t get through! Their service is a complete joke

Bring back SSE

Like other reviewers who seem to be having issues I too was with SSE and was moved to OVO in June. From that point on my smart meter (2nd generation) stopped supplying readings. After many conversations over 8 or 9 weeks (many hours of on-hold) an engineer visit was agreed for early September. I was promised that this visit would resolve the issue and that the engineer would not leave until I had a working service. Five days before the visit I was rung and told that no one was available for the visit and that it would have to be rescheduled till yesterday (3rd October). Having waited around all day I was phoned at 4 o’clock to say that the engineer would be late, some time between 5 and 6. He turned up at 16:55 and after a quick check of the meters said that they all seemed OK and that he would have to phone OVO technicians for a service check. He rung their number and then remained listening to on hold music for the next hour. After an hour on hold he decided to abandon the visit. I asked if he was coming back tomorrow to finish the job and he said no. So another day hanging around at home with the added joy of standing in my hall with an embarrassed engineer listening to pop music from his on-hold mobile phone.
The engineer told me that the technical team had probably gone home and that he normally had to wait over half and hour to speak to someone. What sort of madness is it where the technician on a customer’s premises has to stand around for half an hour or so listening to on-hold music?
Contacting OVO is a nightmare. Many of the services on their web-site just don’t work – for example requesting a refund just goes to “Page Not Found”. They won’t let me adjust my direct debit even though I’m £2500 in credit and this is growing by £280 a month – even at the current prices, as they havn’t got “sufficient” usage history.
They have lost all of the SMART meter readings taken by SSE (even though I was promised that this would not happen)…
The web-chat is bizzar: type some text and eventually the bot recognises that you want to do something other than supply a meter reading. It then asks, one item at a time for your first name, last name, email address and OVO account number, before telling you that the office is closed for the day. What? Didn’t they know they were closed before asking for all this information. Even worse I was accessing the chat through the app that I was signed into – so surely all the requested information was already known.
The worst of it all is that I now have to start all over again.

Worse company to call can never get…

Worse company to call can never get through on phone live chat we'll that's rubbish, they can't help as they don't have access to account, watsapp live help can't help either, it s disgusting that your left on the phone for hours waiting for a so called worker to answer, it needs to be sorted its terrible customer service and I have huge regrets in using them. I'm on phone just over an hour now still waiting for an answer

If I could give 0 stars then I would…

If I could give 0 stars then I would have. Since this company took over from SSE back in May, I’ve had nothing but trouble from them.
My gas meter stopped working/went blank end of June. The gas meter isn't sending any readings either. I’ve reported it in July and so far nothing has been done. I've sent multiple emails regards the issue with no solution.
Webchat was absolutely useless and today I had a whatsapp conversation with some rude agent, telling me there is no timeframe to fix the faulty gas meter.
But they're happy sending me estimated bills. Estimated on what and why..The cost of living is so high i do not have money to be paying for estimates...that will be definitely going to the ombudsman.

Nothing but problems

Nothing but problems, I gave them a gas reading and they where very shocked on how low it was compared to what they had estimated, so I had to send a picture cos they didn't believe me.
At this time I wanted to change suppliers to EDF energy, so OVO gave me my final statement which said I was in credit by £430 they sent a cheque and I got my refund, I even phoned them to double check this was right, and got a email from a department from OVO stating its right and your account will now close, it took EDF energy sometime to take over my gas from this company.
months have gone past and now I received a email from ovo saying I owe them £430, I am now dealing with the debt collectors, my account was never closed down with them, apparently they made a mistake, I have seen the letter they have recently sent me regarding my gas readings and they have changed what was estimated by them to what I had gave them as my actual reading.

Fraudsters

Since this company took over from SSE back in May, I’ve had nothing but trouble from them. They’ve been trying to make me pay for gas I’d already paid for under SSE.
I’ve tried 5 times via email to explain their mistake, but they’re just not listening. On the occasion I telephoned, I had the phone slammed down on me.
I told them that I was going to complain to the Energy Ombudsman. Following that I had a “pay up or else” threatening letter from them.
And that was over money I don’t owe them.
I’ve never come across a company so corrupt, rude and incompetent as OVO.
As soon as this is settled, I’m off. Even British Gas is better than this lot.

What has happened to OVO?

We used to be very happy with OVO. Friendly and efficient customer service. Not now. We have been trying to open our account for FIT for many months, with no response to our requests for help. We are unable to submit the FIT meter reading because we can’t get our account on line. The program refuses to accept that my date of birth (in the 1950’s) is valid. We have written to complain. No joy. I rang yesterday (Friday). Usual spiel from the answering machine about receiving many calls but then the message finished with the fact that they had closed early!! What is this all about? Are the customer service and IT teams so overwhelmed that they have given up altogether?

I have called them numerous times, I got hung up on, I have now filed a complaint which I strongly believe is being ignored whilst I am being asked to sit patiently and wait. It is an absolute joke...

Sent me a mail a few days ago saying i was due a refund. I thought this strange as i left them 3 years ago because of their poor service. Just got a mail saying it was a mistake, what a shambles, it seems from most of the reviews its par for the course.

Totally agree with all other reviews

Totally agree with all other reviews, if I could leave 0 stars I would . Incompetent and impossible to contact, keep using old email address even though appears correct on site and demanding I increase my direct debit when over £400 in credit.

The non communicating energy company!

What is it about this company who make appointments for engineers to attend and then they don't turn up!? Twice this has happened to me and I am not even one of their customers!! Twice I have waited at my son's house (he is one of their customers) and again, no show from an engineer!! The customer service is abysmal and I have put in another complaint to them. Another four hours of my time wasted!! I have asked my son to consider switching suppliers. They can be sure I will never be one of their customers. What an absolute shower they are!

SA Call Centre and Billing Dept nightmare

Frustrating experience, trying to get OVO to show on my online account that a payment was made from my Bank, has been escalated but a speedy resolution is falling on deaf ears! the payment was made on 15 September and today is 29th. An official complaint was made on 27th but telephone calls were being made from 15th wasting my time and energy, its like they are keeping my payment received stashed away for a rainy day, even though its my money not theirs. Very dishonest and cunning!

Absolute rubbish

Absolute rubbish. The guy that serviced my boiler was 4 hours later than he said he would be and the service took 20 minutes. Probably not his fault because the pathetic company he works for have probably got far too many jobs to get through. I thought I had cancelled this but didn't realise I hadn't. I am trying to cancel today but in some endless cue on the phone where there is probably nobody actually in the call centre. Very angry and am now thinking about cancelling my energy plan with OVO as a result of this. The service plan is cheap but its rubbish

ALL OF THESE REVIEWS CANT BE WRONG

ONCE AGAIN OVO HAS STARTED TO GROSSLY INFLATE YOUR PROJECTED USAGE. THEY ALMOST DOUBLED MINE ,I WAS IN £1500 WORTH OF CREDIT AS THEY DID NOT TAKE ANY MONEY OFF MY BILL SINCE I INVOLVED THE OMBUDSMAN IN MARGH AND THEY ARE NOW CLAIMING I USED ALL THAT AND A FURTHER £400 PLUS SINCE THAT DATE . i LIVE IN A SMALL 2 BED BUNGALOW WITH FULL INSULATION ,THIS DURING THE UNPESIDENTED HOT WEATHER . AT THIS RATE MY YEARLY BILL HAS GONE UP FROM £1200 PA TO £5700 PA IN ONE JUMP WHEN THEY HAVE SAID THAT THE AVARAGE PRICE (A THREE BED TWO STORY HOUSE WITH FOUR OCCUPANTS) WAS ONLY INCREASED BY £179.00 . THIS IS WRONG ON EVERY LEVEL. THE STRESS OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH THESE CROOKS IS KILLING ME .
IF YOU SUSPECT THEY HAVE OVER INFLATED YOUR USAGE LOOK AT YOUR OLD BILLS THEY WILL GIVE AN ACCURATE ASSESMENT OF YOUR ATCUAL USAGE THEN DEMAND THESE FRAUDSTERS REDUCE YOUR DIRECT DEBITS.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THEY WANT EVERY CUSTOMER TO BE IN CREDIT BY AT LEAST A MONTHS CHARGE PERMINANTLY AND THEN YOU LOSE ANY INTREST ACCRUED AND THE CROOKS AT SSE GAIN ANOTHER FEW MILLIONS IN INTREST. HOW DO YOU THINK THEY CAN PAY OUT SO MUCH TO SHARE HOLDERS.
HAS ANYBODY EXPLAINED TO YOU WHY OUR BILLS HAVE GONE UP SO MUCH WHEN THE GAS PRICES ARE STILL SO MUCH LOWER ,ITS JUST PROFITEERING BY ELECTRIC SUPPLIERS ,THE PRICE HIKES ARE NOTHING TO DO WITH PUTIN, CHINA OR ANYBODY ELSE AS WE STARTED TO CLOSE GAS POWERED POWER STATIONS YEARS AGO. THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION FOR THESE RISES JUST A BUNCH OF MONEY MEN THAT ARE HOLDING OUY COUNTRY TO RANSOME .
HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT NOT ONE EMAIL FROM THE CROOKS HAS A RETURN ADDFESS. EVERYTHING FROM OVO/SSE COME FROM A "DO NOT REPLY" ADDRESS .DONT ACCEPT THEM JUST RETURN THEM .IF YOU DONT HEAR US WE WILL NOT LISTEN TO YOU. IT ALL SMACKS OF DICTATORSHIP NOT A CUSTOMER BASED SUPPLY COMPANY.
