Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, migrated from SSE, on quarterly billing, now hassling me to pay monthly with threatening reminders. Emailed to point out I was billed quarterly to be told they weren’t able to do that, complete nonsense as I’ve spoken to other customers who pay quarterly to OVO, and the company won’t allow them to change!
OVO charges and customer service
SSE moved me to OVO. I've told me my starting balance is -89.02 however, that have not give me any prove to that. No bill details such us standing charge. I try to contact them. I used the chat on the up and the answer is I am the number 131 in the queue!!
OVO service is beyond standards.
OVO service is beyond standards.
Merged/Switched from SSE FiT scheme few months ago to OVO. They mixed up transition details, can't get through to Fit Department on the phone, emails remain unanswered; they auto reply: these busy times it can take up to 4 weeks for us to respond....
Deadline to submit Generation reading is today, 1st Sept, and can't miss, new reading be submitted again in January! Payments now take 8 weeks from reading taken vs SSE max 1 week. Now, called given number to FiT customer service, gave them reading, they gave me Ref Number, and someone will call me in 3 working days. Nonsense! Get storage batteries installed, and don't give them any Watts-soever.
Awful, Awful, Awful
Awful, took months to send the bill to me, the right person, and stop chasing someone else with threatening letters.
As soon as the energy issues blow over, I am moving, because these are terrible!

OMG OVO are the most frustrating…
OMG OVO are the most frustrating company to deal with. Unprofessional. I cannot set up an account to pay my bill as they seem incapable of activating my account. My bills keep bouncing back on their computer….remaining unpaid unless I chase them. Been on the phone for an hour and half to be cut off. Resolution team meant to be calling back. Doesn’t happen. And apparently it’s company policy not to let you speak to a supervisor 😂. Well done OVO!! SSE were fabulous. Shame on you though for selling out to this shambolic company!!!
ALERT> ALERT> ALERT
ALERT> ALERT> ALERT
Avoid this company if you value your sanity.
Crap company. I'm on the phone to them now, again. I got a bill in march for £284 estimated. I paid the bill in May finally after months of phoning and them sending threatening emails, from a metre reading. In June they billed me for £261, I called again with a metre reading and waited. Today, September 30th, they sent another email bill for £292, I've just phoned to see what's wrong, and have been told I owe £418 mostly because the £7 a day standing charge is racking up. Bear in mind the standing charge at £7 a day for July and august would be £420 without any usage, I'm baffled and the woman I tried to speak to had no idea what's going on so she referred me top the billing department. 30 days I'll have to wait to discover the outcome. This company is the 2nd worse I have ever dealt with in any area of business. Terrible. Shocking. Disgusting. Shoddy. The threat of a debt collection agency would scare the pants of an elderly person and all because of this companies rubbish service.
OVO are a pretty shambolic company
OVO are a pretty shambolic company. Wish we were back with sse. They keep telling us out readings are not going through from smart meter so overestimate our readings and we have to continuously send in readings. They tell us we are not eligible to have meter looked at it changed . We phoned them about previous overcharge and they promised to contact us. No joy. They told us it was probably because they had given my husband and I a bill each on 1 meter. What a joke. This company needs a dawn good overall and stop exploiting those with little money for your own fat cat profits.
I was switched by SSE and tried to call…
I was switched by SSE and tried to call ovo hundreds of times no answer. Switched to Octupus(very good) and guess what..a year after leaving, ovo send me a bill and use the wrong final meter reading. Finally speak to a person who kept fading in and out who tells me we are also on gas. We do not have a gas connection!!!!!!
What an awful company.
AVOID and go to a decent company.
Avoid like the plague
Avoid like the plague, would give zero if I could. Chasing me for a large bill I actually paid two weeks ago. Now asking me to confirm the account details it was paid from over a public email line. Do they think I was born yesterday?
Really disappointed with OVO
Really disappointed with OVO.
Similar to many other reviews, used to be with Swalec/SSE and got moved to OVO. The account is my mother's who has dementia and is in a care home, so getting POA sorted is a nightmare, and now they have put the DD up almost double, despite usage being less now. Customer service is a shambles, agent seemed like he was asleep, emails and chat unanswered. Must be all the other unhappy customers! Should be simple, but far from it, and causing lots of added stress, which is a shame. I will be changing providers as soon as I can. OVO
Chasing payment one day after bill received
Energy bill for 10/07 to 09/08 (£95) received in the post 24/08. On 25/08 I received an email warning me that my "debt" was "more than a month overdue" and that as they share data with credit agencies my "credit rating might be affected"
I called the customer service number on the email and responder was so rude and unprofessional I rang off and double-checked the number, fearing a scam.
It was a real number and I rang back. Different person but still rude. Was advised that I was "in debt" for £140 and when could I afford to pay? That's £95 for the bill and £45 for energy used since 09/08 - they were chasing payment for usage not even billed yet!
Awful
Not if they were the last supplier in the world….
I would rather build a power station fuelled by dung in my garden than use this sad apology for a Company. I was one of the lucky ones, because although I was transferred from SSE like so many others, it coincided with me moving home, so all I had to worry about was final reading and bill, all of which was dealt with in January. It took until March for me to get my refund, after much nonsensical correspondence, but now it’s August, over eight months later, and I receive yet another email telling me my final account is ready and attached (it wasn’t) and I might want to pay my balance by card. This is five months after they finally closed my account and refunded the overpayment. The chat agent was fielding three complaints at the same time, so there were long delays between chats: I feel sorry for these guys working for a company like that… He tells me it’s all resolved, but somehow I feel that it’s not the last I’ve heard of this shower of incompetent buffoons…. Use anyone else: nobody could be worse!
I have over £500 credit and they still…
I have over £500 credit and they still asking to raise my direct debit, and the time you can not get a refund online you can not reduce your direct debit amount.
terrible company to deal with ,previously with sse and got taken over by this total shower, accounts and billing are a total joke , soon as im able to find another provider ,im OUT
terrible service regards accounts and billing ,also customer service is dire beyond belief ,i am only with this company due to sse moving me to ovo ,soon as i can find a decent energy supplier who is taking on new customers im OUT
OVO Customer care reviews needed
Ovo. You need a complete customer care overhaul. Perhaps Stephen Fitzpatrick CEO could read these reviews. I was forced to OVO by SSE being sold out.
I reported faulty meter readings in Sept 21. Frontline call operators were less than helpful, faulty meter really! Are you sure something isn't left on, no my reply, the domestic board is switched off. Oh but something must be on, uh no. So called electrician out at my obvious cost, nope nothing going into faulty meter. Eventually Nov an engineer booked, but not until January 22, then he didn't turn up😡, so back on phone. It eventually took until April 22 to get my meter changed, faulty meter was confirmed, prob 22 phone calls, numerous emails, I was almost £1000 out of pocket, being driven insane by robot reply operators. 3 emails to CEO who didn't have decency to sort it. Advanced resolutions, well S****ll you didn't sort it for me, actually my one and only call helper who always did as he said he would be replying my phone calls every time, and phoning when he said he would, he kept me sane was LEO. He should actually be in advanced resolutions not on frontline call centre!. Thank you Leo. I was suicidal during all this, because on top of Ill health caused by cancer op, money was freely leaving and DD kept being upped. I had to deal with this awful frustrating situation.
Your current treatment of customers could send people over the edge, and esp in the climate ahead, please be much more considerate of what you are doing and how you treat customers. It took 10 months to sort my problem and refund which is wholly unacceptable, and then £50 compensation and £8 bottle wine is just insulting. But I needed closure. It should also be made illegal for a Company to just extortionately up DD payments. It should only be agreed between customer and Company each time it's required.
Please do not reply with your robotic generic replies. Much appreciated.
Get it together Ovo…
I've been with Ovo going on 5 yrs now and stayed because they were such a good company, excellent Customer Service but sadly this has changed and going by the reviews I'm not the only one saying the same! They're staff aren't fully trained, have no clue what they are doing except read off a script, lie and are rude and unhelpful and now have also cost me money. Two months ago I called as my acc was due for renewal in Oct, and I wanted to see if I should renew now, I have to say the Agent was extremely helpful but told me to wait till August when renewal date was due. I explained I was concerned that it would be a lot higher then but was told it would be better to wait. So I did, to find out that my bill DD has gone from £85 to £277 , 2 months ago I was told it was at £165. So I was right, I should of changed back then even paying the exit fees I would of been better off!
In between that call and renewing, I phoned again to find out my renewal date, the Agent spouted all this nonsense that it was 4 weeks before etc.etc, so I advised her that actually it was August and I'd been told this in a previous call...oh let me look....they say!! So they hadn't even looked just said what they thought, I asked about plans, again mno clue and later on found out they had completely lied about the cost! When I corrected them they became rude and put the phone down with a sharp goodbye. Called back and was dealt with completely differently and was told the previous agent had got it all wrong!! Put in a complaint never heard back. Roll on to yesterday, got my email it's time to renew, nearly had a heart attack in the rise, called Ovo to say look I've been with you a long time , I'm in a lot of credit, as I was told this would help, is there anything you can do as I'm paying nearly triple, Agent wasn't interested just kept telling me the different price plans, and saying sorry for the inconvenience. Asked what happens if I can't pay, again wasn't interested, could really offer any help again kept repeating sorry for the inconvenience. In the end I just said its a bit more than an inconvenience don't you think!! Again they just repeated it again so I gave up. If I could leave I would but prices are the same everywhere and that's if you can get a quote! So at the moment its better the devil you know but I can't believe how bad OVO now is, seems like they have expanded to quickly, can't cope and it's affected their Customer service drastically
You would think having all these…
You would think having all these terrible reviews ovo would want to have better relations with the customer I would suggest ovo ask SSE to show you how to have a good relationship with the customer I for one would go back with SSE in a minute not a fan of ovo at all.
