I am also looking forward to getting rid of pay pal credit as I don't understand what and how they calculate. I control my spending but end up paying extra.

I used PayPal Credit to purchase an item from a seller who failed to deliver. Despite providing clear evidence that no goods were received, my case was closed in the seller’s favour.
Unlike traditional credit cards, which offer robust Section 75 protection for non-delivery, PayPal Credit leaves you in the dark. You’re forced to raise a dispute through PayPal’s resolution centre and hope for the best — no guarantees, no transparency, and no meaningful support.
The service is slow, ineffective, and totally unfit for purpose when something goes wrong. If you’re expecting any protection as a buyer, don’t rely on PayPal Credit. You’d be better off using a proper credit card or even your bank debit card, which at least allows for proper chargebacks.
Avoid PayPal Credit unless you’re happy to gamble with your money.

I've just set up a direct debit to pay PayPal and since that someone is trying to take nearly £300 out of my bank account and I'm receiving emails from dodgy companies but can I hell get to speak to anyone at PayPal . Can never get logged in and constantly having to send new password. Very very frustrating. Avoid avoid, avoid at all costs
WARNING !!!PayPal credit affecting your credit score by their mistake !
Review:
I’m writing this to warn others: do not trust PayPal Credit with your credit score.
My payment was due on July 10, and I paid it on time — yet they falsely reported a missed payment, which has now hurt my credit score. This is completely unacceptable and irresponsible.
I contacted their support, but they were unhelpful and did nothing to correct the error. I now have a negative mark on my credit report for doing nothing wrong.
It’s ridiculous that a company this large can’t properly manage something as serious as payment reporting. If you value your credit, stay far away from PayPal Credit.
Paypal and Paypal credit best to be…
Paypal and Paypal credit best to be avoided. I have used PayPal for many years and it's safe to say it's all gone horribly wrong.
The problem for me started when I bought an item using paypal credit that turned out to be faulty. I emailed the company but had no reply from them and thinking they were ignoring me I raised a dispute, when I had five mins I called the company and it turned out their email had not got to me (although I was receiving their sales emails) so I asked paypal to hold off to allow the seller and I to sort the problem between ourselves.
Paypal communication is very poor both by phone and web chat. They decide to contact the company even though I said not to, so I said well if you cant follow my instructions close the dispute. Big mistake! Their policy is not to reopen disputes and will keep telling you they can't. After a week of the seller having the faulty item returned it felt like they were quibbling over the refund so I contacted paypal for support only to be told we can't do anything, even though my statutory rights were being infringed. They expected me to pay for an item I didn't have, we're talking hundreds of pounds here. I told them to put all this in writing as I will be taking it further. Luckily the company have now agreed a refund and as soon as that happens I will be closing my paypal account for good.
Nightmare attempt at payment
There always seems to be a problem. They arranged five (yes, gfve!) 6 figure passcodes from my bank, and then one from them which said it had cleared the cheks. But still my payment would not go tnrough. When I tried again I was asked for yet another passcode. I have told the supplier - a local society garden party - that I will pay at the door - in cash.

PayPal: Banned for No Reason as a First-Time User
I had the absolute worst experience trying to create a PayPal account for the very first time. I was simply trying to register my information, and without any clear explanation, my account was immediately and permanently banned.
Here's exactly what happened:
I started the registration process, entering my name and address in English. Living in Egypt, postal codes aren't something we typically use, so I had to take a moment to look mine up online. After finding it, I returned and successfully entered it. I decided to skip adding my bank card at that specific step because I wanted to consult my bank first about how linking it to PayPal might affect my account. I then continued with the registration.
Almost immediately after this, I received a message stating that my account was "limited" and I needed to confirm my information. I promptly uploaded a clear photo of my National ID card, expecting to resolve the limitation. However, as soon as my ID was submitted, my account was permanently banned.
This is completely unacceptable. I was a brand-new user, diligently trying to provide all the requested information. There was no suspicious activity, no unusual transactions – literally nothing but me trying to set up an account for the first time. To be instantly banned without any reason or clear explanation, especially after providing my official identification, is incredibly frustrating and feels entirely unjust.
either PayPal's system, in this instance, is broken or it is just pure racism. It's impossible to use a service that bans new users for simply trying to register and verify their identity. I cannot recommend PayPal to anyone if this is how they treat potential new customers.

They are actually the worse company out there! Don’t bother using them as I missed a payment which was down to them not having my bank on the list for an auto payment and my credit score went down by 76 points!!! Have raised a dispute but nothing. Have cleared the credit and deleted the app and will never be using them again. Hope people stop using them they didn’t want to help me and just seem like scammers

I have been a loyal customer for a few years. I haven't received a parcel and PayPal has not been helping me. They don't care about their customers and have no soft skills. Avoid at all cost
What a scam
What a scam
Hidden information they say you can pay in 4months then every month forcing you to pay minimum if not you will get 12 fee extra to pay horrible never again
Stay Away!
If you make multiple purchases, it is impossible to avoid interest fees because they would deduct your payments from your purchase balances randomly. So the thing they call "4 months interest free" is a total scam as even if you do pay for a specific purchase you made there is no guarantee that that payment actually goes for that purchase which lead you to pay interest fee every single month.
They make it really hard to pay on…
They make it really hard to pay on time. Avoid!
Absolutely shocking service
Absolutely shocking service, do not use this service !
Wth?? Never known anything as bad.
Wth??! I have never known anything like this. ‘Scheduled payments’ arrange by PayPal them that don’t leave your account as outlined then late charges applied . Call Centre has a standard 30 mins waiting time then when you finally get through the operative seems powerless to do anything .
App has zero useful information or functionality.
Just an incredibly confusing platform which almost seems set up to be so in order they can apply charges. Completely bizarre attempt at offering a credit card style offering by PayPal. Should hang their heads in shame as an established operator.
Articially created late fees, so low....
I paid a purchase in full within the six months period to avoid interest. Well, that didn't happen. I gave the order to PaypalCredit to pay on the 2nd before midnight and they PaypalCredit scheduled it for the third resulting in a late fee. Annoying but next month the balance will be zero and they can put their interests (up to 36%/year) and their late fees goodbye.PaypalCredit served a purpose but the way these late fees are charged (really low and disdainful), I decided to let them rob others
Avoid Paypal Credit at all costs!!!
Avoid Paypal Credit at all costs!!!
I did not use Paypal Credit by choice, I bought a new mobile phone through a company. They manage their finances through Paypal Credit only and it was sold as just another way of doing a direct debit.
A direct debit was set up and immediately there were issues.
Firstly the wrong amounts being taken, Paypal trying to take nearly double that agreed by way of the mandate.
Numerous calls to operators who had no idea what was going on. Requests to speak to supervisors or mangers over the phone.
These never came and instead complaints were escalated by way of a "ticket". After a couple of weeks a generic reply in the form of a app message is sent. You cannot reply to this, they have not understood the complaint and you cannot actually communicate with anyone.
All communication is behind a App-Wall, no replies are by e-mail, no screen shots can be taken. No satisfaction can be sort.
They are faceless, they are shielded they have your bank account and can affect you credit rating!
They've now gone from taking too much money from my bank account to taking none and keep telling me I'm defaulting.
At the time of writing this, I am in the process of uploading my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
I hope this stops others getting caught. I will avoid at all costs for the rest of my life.
**Update...I'm raising a complaint via the Financial Services Ombudsman....the process is simple and straightforward if anyone else aggrieved. Trustpilot doesn'tallow links. But you'll gind it...good luck.**
Never had a problem
Never had a problem. I use PayPal credit consistently as an online payment method and find it is swift efficient and convenient.
Completely Disrespected …
I almost never leave a review for anything but, They treated me like I was a complete idiot. Especially Katrina the supervisor I finally got to talk to after being hung up on several times, trying to call over and over again just to pay my bill. I wasn't rude, I wasn't a jerk, i was just trying to get answers and pay my bill. The first month I tried paying my bill 3 times. All 3 times it came back telling me they couldn't find the account that their app has you link. And took off all of my bank accounts 1 by 1. She tells me no it doesn't have you link any accounts, they never received a payment from me, and tells me I never called before. Are you kidding me? I'm looking right at the app, I'm looking right at my account that they closed and still couldn't make a payment on without calling apparently but no where does it say that and calling to pay didn't do anything either. I have phone records of how many times I called. She was such a you know what I ended up in tears and she still told me don't believe my lying eyes on things I'm literally look right at. I am not stupid, I am not a jerk, I am not a liar! All I wanted to do was pay my bills on time. Both months ended up being late and she literally tells me there are no records of me doing anything or calling. Well the account is now closed, I took a huge hit on my credit and still got no where except for paying my bill. Beyond frustrating and demeaning. Do not use if you can help it. I did for credit points but ended up losing terribly.
Untransparent and dodgy
I thought I was the only one developing a bad taste for paypal credit over the ways they conduct their business. I had a few issues before and tried to brush it off, however this time it's the final straw. I cleared all my balance straight after getting paid and money gone out of my bank account + overpaying by accident. I removed all my bank details off paypal credit as I know I dont owe them a penny anymore. Lo and behold, 14 days later I got an email saying I need to pay my balance + charges and it could affect my credit score. Agent couldnt provide a clear and consistent clarification as to what had happened and only mentioned payment has been bounced. Checked bank transactions and despite money leaving for paypal with +balance, all bounced back 14 days later. There and then I decided to close my paypal credit. They are the worse and there's no transparency and easy way of understading how they are managing the credit you took from them. It's certainly poor account management + deceitful way to run such a scam and they should be investigated.
Avoid... They allocate payments where they choose
Terrible...if you set up a credit agreement then you expect to have your payments taken as agreed, but not with PayPal credit.
I made a purchase using the interest free offer as I knew I'd get some money to pay off a big chunk of it so by the time the 4 months came I'd have it all cleared off. But no... PayPal decided to use the lump sum paid to pay off the smaller agreement plan that I had set up for 6-12 months. Not realising what happened as its not very clear, I now have less than 2 months to find the funds to pay off the bigger purchase.
This should not be allowed as we use credit as long as we can manage the payments, but when the company decides to allocate funds towards different balances as it suits them, then it messes us up financially.
I will be paying it off and then closing down the credit account. Does not make any sense to use it.
