Not as smooth as I would have hoped for

Had to get my medical history retaken 3 times as they kept putting the wrong ovary on my form (I only have 1 ovary and it dredged up pain for me)
Then they used my bmi from the quite 3 months ago, so had to readjust that too.

PG mutual sent me an email to make me…

PG mutual sent me an email to make me aware that from November when my first 2 years with them will end the premium for my membership will increase.
I have decided to stop the membership and requested a refund for my money paid .
I have received 2 separate emails from 2 different persons stated that I can not have a refund as I did not have 2 years with them .
I have made 24 payments means 24 months means 2 years an they also stated that my discounted price ended as I reach my 2 years discounted membership .
They do not want to refund -I have paid around £8000 in 2 years for nothing
Stay away from them !!!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand why you feel disappointed, but as with other insurance products such as car insurance, the premiums for the policy do not become refundable should you not need to claim during the policy term. This is because while the policy was active, we were insuring you against the risk of incapacity caused by sickness or injury.

the staff was helpful, great job!

the staff was helpful , answered quickly all my questions. I just didn`t give 5 stars, because took too long to give the promised vouchers at the start the process. I just received it after 6 months of the start to pay the insurance.

So pleased that I used PG Mutual as I did for the length of time I did. I was originally recommended to use by a great friend & colleague and I would have no hesitation in recommending to my friends and colleagues. Very disappointed that after many years…

Very disappointed that after many years of cover you refuse to continue/extend my policy past my 65th birthday despite me being unable to claim state pension until 66 and 7months of age. Therefore needing to continue employment.
With the retirement age increasing this is not a good policy.

At this time, we can only offer income protection cover to a customer’s 65th birthday, and we do make this clear in our sales literature. We are disappointed that your rating and review has focused on this point and did not take into account the performance of our product during your membership of our Society. Cash withdrawal

I needed to make a cash withdrawal. The person dealing with my enquiry was very helpful. The process was explained clearly and I was also informed how long it would take.
I asked for a withdrawal of £2000.00. I was surprised to find out that a bonus of £500.00 had been added to my withdrawal.
I would have wanted this bonus to be added to the remaining funds if I had been given the information.

The loyalty bonus which is currently 25% is applied to any withdrawals or terminations for members over the age of 60 and is an additional bonus, not more taken from your profit share. Please note that any loyalty bonus available at the time would be applied again to the final balance when you come terminating your policy. (Bonus rates are not guaranteed and may be decreased or increased in the future. Past performance is also no guarantee of future results.)

As a long standing member I was pleased that I never had to use the benefit but it was going to be there.
PG mutual worked with me to offer continued membership although limited when I emigrated to USA.
When the time came to terminate the membership I was very surprised by the bonus and very happy that my money safe and secure.

PG mutual is an excellent company

PG mutual is an excellent company. I was with them for more than 20 years. When it came to making a claim and then to cashing in my policy, they were very helpful and easy to talk to. Everything was completed exactly as they promised.
