In Autumn 2012, Anglers Mail described Picks Cottage Fishery in their 'Where to Fish' section as one of the best kept secrets in London. We offer both affordable and challenging fishing combined with great facilities and service. Picks Cottage Fishery has been established since 1987 when we constructed our very first lake known as 'Top Lake' . Located on a small 70 acre farm, Picks Cottage was originally used as pasture for the dary cattle on the families farm. With the popularty of angling growing rapidly through the 1990s, the fishery soon expanded to the four lake complex you see today. Throughout this time, we have continued to take great pride in the lakes and ensure they are maintained to the very highest of standards. Our lakes are stocked with a wide variety of fish including specimen Carp to over 30lbs, Pike, Tench, Bream and many other species. With five lakes to choose from, new challenges are always just around the corner.

Picks is an extremely well run fishery which is blossoming, quickly. The fish are growing on and the facilities just get better and better with cafe, a new float lake, disabled toilets and pathways.
Whether you like to pleasure or match fish or sit it out trying to catch the specimen carp, try your hand at cat fishing, or your getting started and want some good float n maggot action Picks has it covered, and the on site tackle shop carries all the good names and is more than capable of sorting you out if you need just about anything.
I fished here 20 years ago, it was going the wrong way fast then, now, its spot on.
One last thing, I have seen 1 star reviews on facebook for Picks, along with comments like "there's no fish in here because i didn't catch anything". Really... the website and picture board in the cafe show fish nearing 40lb and plenty of them. The carp lakes can be weedy, but that's common and part of the challenge of carp fishing. The weed gives shelter, and a source of natural food for the fish, hence they are growing so fast. If you can't handle fishing into weed, and expect fish to crawl up your line this isn't the place. Its small, yet immensely challenging, so ask in the office and be honest with your ability and pick the lake you fish realistically. I have carp fished for decades, and the S-Lake is still beating me up regularly!
