PODS is excellent!

Ease of the order. Delivery was a breeze and pick was excellent! Both the delivery and pick up drivers were professional courteous and a joy! I will definitely use PODS again.

I rarely leave reviews

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to leave one to urge others to seriously explore other moving options before choosing PODS. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.

What should have been an exciting cross-country move turned into an incredibly stressful experience due to delayed delivery, poor communication, and lack of accountability. Our container was delayed during our move from Maryland to Colorado, and we were repeatedly left without clear answers or updates.

To make matters worse, when we raised concerns about the delays, the stress it caused our family, and the business losses we experienced from not having access to our inventory and equipment, the conversations often felt abruptly ended instead of genuinely addressed. We did not feel heard or supported during one of the most important transitions of our lives.

I understand delays can happen, but communication, empathy, and accountability matter. Unfortunately, that was missing throughout much of our experience.

Easiest way to move

PODS is the fastest easiest way to move or temporarily store your stuff. I’ve used them twice now- once for a move and another time to move temporarily for a remodel. The drivers/podzilla operators have all been awesome. Great experience all around and they were so very easy to deal with.

I needed a warehouse pickup since I was…

I needed a warehouse pickup since I was moving to a rural area. I saw a close warehouse location in Edwardsville il. Requested this location. Did a contract and paid. Day before pickup I rented a truck and trailer and confirmed 4 times the hours, open status, location and address. On day of pickup drove 2 hours and arrived at address to locked doors. There were 2 vehicles and 6 people in our caravan. No lights on in the warehouse, door locked and no sign on door. I spent next 2 hours on phone trying to get ahold of the site manager, pods people telling me they were trying to get ahold of manager, call back later, hang ups etc. Then someone told us we were at wrong location that the location was closed...that's what my contract was for!!.. online showed the location open 8 am to 3pm. Pods you dropped the ball. My friends were all calling too for us. I was then told my pods was at a different location. What...so we then had to drive over to Missouri specifically to St. Louis. We were not happy and we were saying false contract and false advertising. Not sure legally if i have any recourse for a refund but I will be checking. The guy at the new warehouse accommodated us and then we left. I will never refer your company after you put me on a wild goose chase. Sent me to a empty and closed warehouse and hung up on me numerous times while trying to fix and locate my personal belongings.
When I called...you wanted me to chat. If I chat you wanted me to text..if I text you wanted me to do something else. Your communication sucks and your operators dont seem to understand the process. They need updated info. Quality was not what I experienced. It was a nope experience for me.

They last minute changed my delivery…

They last minute changed my delivery date for 3 days. They notified me on Memorial Day that my pod would not be delivered as promised the next day. I have to have this stuff moved out of the house on Tuesday and they have completely left my in a bad situation. I will never use them again! Competely unreliable.

The men you send are the Best!

The men you send are the nicest, most respectful and very professional in their jobs. They seem to be happy and enjoy what they are doing. Unfortunately, it appears a lot of them are leaving a job they love because of the way they are treated by upper management. The restrictions are unhealthy. Not good for the worker, the client or your company. 15 minutes to load up or off load and making a good repour with the client is unfair. They need to try the job themselves and see what these guys have to put up with in order to understand. At least go watch a minimum of 5 times to see what goes into it. Attitudes with the workers need to change also or PODS will lose many more great workers to the competition, the competition will get ahead of PODS and PODS may finally realize when it is too late what they are losing clients to competition that treats their workers fairly. I know one man that entered the Wing Man program, got a 94% on the test. He was told he had to have 95% (after the fact) in order to get the $250 incentive pay. What a farce! It's just too bad PODS has to lose great people because they don't know how to treat them or even ask them what they would need to do their job.

Boston delivery lacking in professionalism

My booking, pickup, and travel experience were GREAT! Booking was easy and the agent I chatted with one the website was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Delivery was timely, the PODS was clean, the driver was nice. Pickup from my home went off without a hitch and was later transported across the country.
After driving to my new home, I discovered there was a tree with many low-hanging branches that would block the truck from accessing the driveway; I called two weeks prior to delivery to change the location from my driveway to the street and was told that would not be a problem and advised that I should look into whether I might need a permit. I used Permit Puller to secure my permit, scout the location, and post notice.
Delivery in Boston was a problem. I got an email, text, AND a phone call about my delivery window (2-5 pm) and confirmed that delivery should not block driveways and that someone would be present to help direct, given that it's a narrow one-way street. The next morning, I received a text at 7:03 confirming the 2-5 delivery window. At 8:41, I received a text from the driver with PODS telling me that he was on his way to deliver the container, making him 5 hours early. I replied asking for clarification, as the delivery window was later and received no response. When I was later able to get to the house, I found the PODS had been placed at the very edge of the driveway, making it nearly impossible for vehicles to enter or exit the driveway and our roofer had his vehicle parked there. When I called Customer Service, I was told that the order was for driveway delivery (which should have been changed, per my phone call to PODS from two weeks prior. I was put on a hold while customer service reached out to delivery and it disconnected after 10 minutes, after which I received no follow-up. If cars were parked such that the container could not be placed better, the driver should have called me or the city to have the cars towed. I had warned neighbors that I would have them towed DURING the delivery window, but not before or after.
I am very disappointed with the delivery service after having such great experience otherwise.

PLANNING and COST

The delivery and pickup drivers for PODS were awesome. I’d rate them 5 STARS overall (except for one who might have been a little high at the time…). What brings this rating down is PODS refusal to honor a discount on a third container. We ordered two containers initially and determined on moving day we needed a third. For our initial order, we were given the Costco Member discount, which was a significant savings for a cross country move (over 1600 miles). When I called to request a third container, we were somehow no longer eligible for that discount even though we were still Costco Members. The PODS customer service rep I spoke to put me on hold as if he was talking to a manager of someone at corporate to fight for me to get a discount but came back on only to tell me there was nothing they could do. We did not qualify for the discount. It felt like the same tactic used by shady moving companies that take advantage of a desperate situation on that last minute moving day when your choices and options are severely limited and they KNOW it. What makes this worse is that our initial order for two containers was based on PODS recommendation given the size and contents of our house. The estimate said one 16’ and one 8’ was enough. BUT we needed one more 16’ to complete the job, and that was barely enough. So I feel like we got jammed up because I listened the their ‘experts’ and didn’t plan well enough at the beginning. They did come through in the end and maintained delivery and pickup schedules, but the cost ended up being more than it should have been and PODS customer service would not work with us.

Delivery was delayed two weeks due to…

Delivery was delayed two weeks due to not receiving a signature form that was never sent to me, once the error was acknowledged I went to the back of the line instead of becoming a priority for redelivery.
