Purchased two pairs of of the same…

Purchased two pairs of of the same workday pant. Upon arrival, one of the items was size labelled incorrectly as it was clearly a size or two smaller than the label read. I printed out the PR return label and promptly sent back requesting a replacement of the same pant in the correct size. Waited.... no pants and follow up with PR representatives and they can’t find my return?? Now, out of pocket for cost of the pants plus return shipping and no product. Good product but this company needs to improve their quality control and business processes. I do not recommend this company

Terrible QC

Really disappointed because I had such a strong start with this company. Honestly, I do think their joggers are generally great fitting, super fashionable colorways and nice material.

That being said...this is now my 2nd pair though that after 1 single wash (and a single wear in this instance, mind you), it comes out with crazy notable stretch marks in the material. Terrible QC.

I reached out and was told I could not return or exchange as I'm outside of the window and the best they could offer is 20% on new orders.

50% of my purchases here have has this issue...no thanks.

Mislabeled clearance items that are nonrefundable

I have purchased several times from this company. I always order the same size. They had a clearance sale and when I received those 2 pair of pants they were clearly sized or labeled incorrectly, about 2 sizes too small. I did not want a refund, just to exchange for the size I ordered. They said exchanges to clearance items and wouldn't even check them out to see that they were not correctly labeled.
This is not not a company that has any interest in having satisfied, repeat customers and this was likely a scam to clear out overstocked or perviously returned items.

Hi Robert, thanks for reaching out! We’re sorry to hear that you felt unheard by our customer support department. We can assure you that we are not intentionally trying to sell a mislabeled or defective product. Due to differences in fabric and cut sizing between styles of pants can vary which could be why the pants you purchased didn’t fit despite buying your usual size. The items on clearance are no longer being produced and that is why the sale is final. We did our best to make our customers aware that items were unable to be returned or exchanged by including the information in the product description, by adding final sale badges to items in the shopping cart, and including it on the invoice that comes in the packaging. This final sale policy is only in place on select sale items. Our regular return policy (45 days from the date of purchase as long as the item is unworn (trying on is fine) and unwashed) is still in place for the remainder of our products.

Terrible quality product

Terrible quality product! I bought a pair and wore them and realized the pockets were not completely finished and I lost a personal keepsake that fell out of the pocket. I contacted them and they could have cared less about my losing something very personal to me due to their TERRIBLE quality control. Never will buy again!

Public Rec is a terrible company

Public rec had an “archive” sale. It appears now that they were actually clearing out mislabeled-waist sized pants on an unsuspecting consumer base (see other reviews). The customer service claims that these are not only “no return”but also “no exchange” for the correct size, even if mis labeled as to size! Then they wanted me to measure the pants and photograph them. I’m not a tailor! I’m an attorney. I’ve bought 4 expensive pair of pants from them in the past. This is terrible customer service and might be fraud or theft if they knew the pants were too small in the waist and sold them to customers anyway with no exchange or return. Again, see the other reviews.

Hi B. Whitman! We’re sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with your pants and your experience with our customer support department. We can assure you that we are not intentionally trying to sell a mislabeled or defective product. Returned merchandise doesn’t go to our customer support team. The only way that they can ascertain whether or not a product is mislabeled is to ask the customer to send a picture of the product showing proof that the measurement is off. Exceptions to the final sale can be made if there is a manufacturing defect. The items that are on sale are no longer being produced and that is why the sale is final. We did our best to make our customers aware that items were unable to be returned or exchanged by including final sale in our ad banner, in the product description for every item in the sale, by adding final sale badges to items in the shopping cart, and including it on the invoice that comes in the packaging. This final sale policy is only in place on select sale items. Our regular return policy (45 days from the date of purchase as long as the item is unworn (trying on is fine) and unwashed) is still in place for the remainder of our products.

Terrible fit, terrible customer service.

I ordered 2 pants for gifts for men. Adult pant did not fit true to size to what was worn in other brands. They were tight in the crotch and uncomfortable. The material might have been okay, but the fit was off. The other pair was for a teen and also tighter in all areas for a very thin youth. No wonder the pants were on sale! Here is the rub, the pants can't be returned. They claim the ad said no returns. So buyer beware.

Going to look for alternatives..

Love Public Rec products, but recently had a disappointing experience with customer service.

I mistakenly ordered the wrong version of pant. Ordered non-slim, was looking for slim. This was a final sale item. I was aware of the conditions regarding final sale (no returns) and was completely content with that condition. However, as I mentioned, I ordered the wrong pant.

Long story short, the pants arrived, I quickly acknowledged that they were the wrong version and never tried them on/opened the bag. Contacted customer service both via call and email. Same response both times, "Final sale, no returns". I understand that this condition exists, but even with an order that has never even been opened? Not even a one time exception?

For such a high premium we pay for their products, just was expecting a hint of leniency with their customer service.

Hi BW, thanks for reaching out! Having to say no and enforce the rules fairly for everyone is the hardest part of working in customer support. Most people don’t like to hear no, especially when they believe their request is generally reasonable (which is often the case). It’s hard to say no when you understand and empathize with the customer’s situation. Making exceptions to the rules would be unfair to the other customers who also received a no answer. The items being sold in our Archive Sale are no longer being produced and they are on sale to clear out the remaining inventory. That is why the sale is final. We did our best to make our customers aware that items were unable to be returned or exchanged by including final sale in our ad banner, in the product description for every item in the sale, by adding final sale badges to items in the shopping cart, and including it on the invoice that comes in the packaging. Our regular return policy (45 days from the date of purchase as long as the item is unworn (trying on is fine) and unwashed) is still in place for the remainder of our products. I had high expectations for the edp…

I hate to sound rude but I had good expectations for the edp, but they are not fully thinking about us short people. I ordered a 32x28 and the ankle opening was so large! I stood and it just looked like mom jeans. It was not really slim tapered as expected. Sure if I paid 20 bucks whatever but this pant is over 100usd and it fits like pant from target. It’s a good thing I returned it.

Sale item waist 2 sizes small!

I have 2 pair of the everyday pants and I like them a lot. I ordered another pair that were on sale the same size as my other 2 pair and I received pants that say they are my size but they are about 2 sizes smaller on the waist. Poor quality control! Or they are dumping the mismarked pants onto its customers. Since they were on sale no return!!! BS!

Hi Todd! We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your purchase. The cut and fabric of the Workday Pant Straight differs from the ADED Pant, as a result they fit a bit differently. The ADED Pant features an elastic waist and material with much more stretch than the Workday. Some customers have to size up from their ADED Pant to get the right fit. That is part of the reason why we redesigned the Workday Pant. All sales were final on items in the Archive Sale because we were discontinuing the styles and/or colors in the sale. We do offer returns on non-sale items if you decide to give us another chance in the future, and we would also be glad to answer any questions you have about fit ahead of time as well.

Pants are really nice.

It took 3.5 weeks for it to arrive and I was greatly irritated by this but the product was more than enough to offset damage done by their poor delivery. I bought the everyday pant in a 30 / 30 which fits perfectly. Very comfortable and stretchy. They would have received a 5 but the delivery took a week or longer then it should have.

For UK customers - avoid

For UK customers - avoid !!! Even if they ship you a wrong size or colour you need to pay for return to US either by yourself or via their DHL return label - £18.

The quality is not different from a local Primark

Hi Jarek, thanks for reaching out! For general return shipping at this time, we're unable to cover the cost of international return shipping. We do cover the original shipping label, as well as part of the cost to provide a subsidized return label—but there is still a discounted cost that our customers must cover. Apologies for any inconvenience this causes; we are working towards a better solution for this. All of this being said if a mistake is made on our part (i.e. if we send the wrong color, wrong size, etc) we want to make it right at no cost to you. Please reach out to customer support at support@publicrec.com and we would be glad to work with you.

Great service and product!

Great service and product!! I inquired about a military discount and was advised that none was offered but they did give me a special discount which I greatly appreciated. They responded quickly and I ordered the pants. Pants came within 3 days. The fit was perfect and the material is top quality. I will order more pants in the future. Thank you!!

Clothes are good

EDIT: I appreciate the response, I have updated the rating, since the pants were pretty nice once I got them. It must have been a terrible coincidence.

OLD: I haven't got my clothes yet, but ever since I submitted the form with my phone number, I have been getting telemarketing calls non stop.

I can't say for sure if it's related, but it is an awful coincidence and it makes me think you're selling everyone's data for profit.

Laughable

The only thing remarkable and innovative about Public Rec apparel is the companies marketing effort that convinces gullible suckers to buy simple unremarkable clothing marked up 10 or 20 times the price any rational person would spend on leisure wear.

Fantastic pants!

Fantastic pants!! I have the ADED and I’m a big lad and they fit great, are stretchy without being baggy, look good and feel fantastic!

They wash well and dry fast. I’m after buying a bunch more now including the Workday Pant to try out!

It was a small gamble buying online, sight unseen, especially when getting pants which can be notoriously tricky to get right; but it paid off big time! New favourite pants now!
