Damaged goods

Screws missing? Package had been dropped? Had to repair metal support on back end so as the stabiliser would fit.
Also packaging was all broken, not impressed.
Would not recommend to anyone?

MCL800 - Inacurrate heart rate/calories and resistance is too high

This review is for the MCL800 exercise bike. The bike is a bit disappointing to be honest. The resistance levels are way too hard. I ski and mountain bike all year round and could only maintain Level 3 resistance out of 10 consistently for a 30+ minute ride. The heart rate monitor is absolutely useless. It consistently goes into the 200+ bpm range which is ridiculous. It's all over the place and just doesn't seem to be able to read your pulse accurately from the grips. The calories burnt is completely off too. I rode for 30 minutes and it said I'd burnt 100 calories. Okay ... then why would I bother torturing myself for 30 minutes to burn off less calories than drinking a can of coke ? I bought this for my mum and I own an expensive elliptical machine that says i burn 300 calories in a 30 minutes period. My heart rate has never gone over 170 bpm on that machine. The MCL800 says I burn 100 calories in 30 minutes when my legs are burning and I'm sweating miles more than on my eliiptical. The programs are almost unusable because the resistance peaks are too high. As I mentioned, I mountain bike in the summer and ski all winter so my legs aren't feeble and yet this machine makes them burn like hell on the lowest settings. Not impressed with this bike. It's only really good to just pedal on the manual settings. The set programs are too difficult, the heart rate grips are useless and the calories burned are very questionable. Good job whoever created this machine!

Great experience

Ordered Friday afternoon delivered Monday afternoon. The bike was exactly what I had been looking for at a good price. Was easy to build. So far goes well and is very quiet when you work out.

We're sorry for the condition the parts arrived in they were unacceptable.

We responded to the customer promptly with multiple resolutions, either by exchanging any damaged parts or for a collection and refund depending on which option suited him best with offers of compensation for the inconvenience too. Once the customer had decided which option he preferred we then organised a collection on a date to suit him, the customer has now received a full refund as requested.

Once again we're very sorry for the damage the gym suffered in transit and the inconvenience.

Best Regards,
PureFitness & Sports
