Helped me recover a NAS recently!

Helped me recover a NAS recently!

I had a client who reset their NAS and forgot how they formatted their drives. The software let me recover the data for them and place it onto the reset NAS. (Ext4 file system)

Will definitely be using it again :)

Good recovery software

The synology nas suddenly crashed and the partition (SHR) was broken.
I searched for a program that could recover btrfs and found this software.

Luckily, I was able to recover all the files in userland.

Besides that, I am very happy to be able to recover the data (NTFS) of the old hard disk.

Highly recommended.

It does exactly what it is supposed to…

It does exactly what it is supposed to do. The interface is intuitive and easy to learn. It helped me recover files from a failed Synology NAS mirrored device. It is well worth the investment, and I like that it's "by once forever" and not a subscription-type service. In short, I highly recommend this recovery software.

Great for Storage Spaces

I had a Windows storage space that got corrupt on failing HDDs and I could no longer access it with regular Windows tooling. I tried several applications to recover the data but most said the partition was corrupted and the data was not recoverable or only recover with no file names or folder structure.

Then I used Reclaime. While, I felt the price to be a bit much for just a data backup software, I justified it with the time I saved trying to recover the data with a cheaper option. It quickly found my old storage spaces then was able to access the files, with my original folder structure and naming intact, and copy all the files to another drive.

I will say I had trouble with it crashing a bunch when running it on Windows server 2019 which the drives were initially installed with, but I installed the drives to a Windows 10 computer and Reclaime ran perfectly. It may have been a problem with that installation of windows.

RAID 1 recovered easily

This is not just a review, but more of a step by step analysis of what I went through to recover my important files. I you want to know if it works, then the answer is yes, it's easy and the cost was worth it to me. Truly a 5 star experience with the software. If you want to know more, then read on because this took me many weeks of trial and error before I bit the bullet and paid. You can save the effort and just read what I went through.

First let me say that I tried many, (i mean many) attempts to recover my RAID 1 NAS HDD information. I didn't know that when I purchased the NAS and set it up in RAID 1 that it would require special software to recover it if they ever failed. I just assumed, that it was all Windows based and I would be able to pull out one of the HDD's, pop it into by USB dock and read or copy straight from there. Not the case.

I spent countless hours researching how to do this, hopefully for free, but had absolutely no success. I tried many vendors trial versions of software, many of which were difficult to understand and/or were unsuccessful. Many were even more money than ReclaiMe. I determined via the many Youtube videos I watched that the HDD's were set up as Linux file structure EXT3/4 and as luck would have it, I have a Linux server in my basement running the Ubuntu OS. Unfortunately, I have very little Linux experience and this proved to be not possible for me.

I went back to ReclaiMe, which I had tried already in my attempts and once again downloaded the trial copy. It was dead simple to start. The hardest part was identifying which drive I needed to scan. This is because, I was running it from another Windows computer that contained multiple HDD's of which two of them are configured as RAID 1 as well and one of the is Linux plus all the USB ports that are installed. (Lets say, this is a very complex computer that I built on a server platform that could run 24X7X365 so I don't have to tie up my personal computer if I want to do tasks that will take considerable time). But within minutes, ReclaiMe identified some of the folders on the HDD (by the way, I was scanning only one of the RAID 1 drives) and I knew I had the right one. The drives were 2TB each. I don't know how long it took to scan, but it was considerably a very long time, like 24 to 30 hours. Once it was complete, the trial version shows a 3 window pane. On the left it the folder structure. On a few of the folders, there is an X in the check box. I am assuming that is where the software failed and could not recover the file(s) in that folder. You can click on any of the folders and the file contents are displayed on the top right hand pane and if you click on a file, the contents are displayed in the bottom pane so you instantly know what can be recovered. Once I determined, I was satisfied with the results, I purchased the license key to unlock everything. Yes, it was expensive (I had to buy the Ultimate version because I was dealing with RAID HDD's), but the HDD had files on it that were very important to me. This step was also simple; I ordered an paid via Paypal over the web and within seconds, they sent me the key, I inserted it and the program became fully functional. All that was required was to check the folders I wanted (which was all of them) and hit the SAVE button and determine where I wanted them saved. For me, I have a new NAS with larger drives, so I sent them there across the network. This proved to be very time consuming, about 40 hours to complete. Once they were all there, I was able to determine what I wanted to save and what I wanted to delete. ReclaiMe also gives you the RAW files too where everything is separated into its file type; ie: all the jpegs are together. I guess this is for very corrupt drives or to quickly pull just file types you want to save. For me, I just deleted all the RAW scan results and concentrated on the true folder structure that I had originally set up in the NAS when it was working.

My experience with ReclaiMe software was very positive. I gave it 5 stars for simplicity, the fact that you can try before buy and the results. In fact the software recovered about 98% of all my files. This software is very simple to use and will work for anyone that is more of just a computer user like me and not a programmer. I am presently scanning the second drive of my RAID array to see if the other 2% of the files are intact on that drive.

Most of what I wanted to recover were years and years of family photos, that I thought were lost forever and now I have most of them back. These are priceless to me so now the cost of the software seems reasonable. And since I have two other RAID 1 systems in my house, I am assured that I will have it for the future.

Best data recovery software (Ultimate Version)

My NAS crashed. I tried other software but they are no able to recovered some of my RAW files and 3D CAD files.

On Reclaime, not only most of my data are recovered, the files are recovered in an organized way following the original directory. This greatly ease my time and lessen my burden to retrieve back the data.

In short, it is EFFECTIVE and EFFICIENT.

Worked well for a crashed RAID 5 data recovery

I had a QNAP 4 bay NAS suffer from irreparable board damage. I tried to rebuild the array using Ubuntu with mdadm to try and recovery what I can with no luck. With a lot of loosing sleep and stressing, I tried a few different recovery methods, with pretty abysmal results.

Eventually tried reclaime RAID with promising results. To my surprise, it even noted that the disks were in the wrong order (1,2,4,3) and worked around it.

Did a long scan for at least 24 hours, and it found all 122,811 files within the first few hours.

Personally, I don't see the need to run it for the full scan, when it found basically everything after 3hrs. It even found old photos from years ago, which I thought would have been removed by a RAID Scrub.

Price was a bit steep, but It's a lifetime license, that in itself is worth it IMO. Definitely a company to consider.

Would use again without hesitation.

works well

Reclaime worked quickly and was easy to use.

I was able to recover a large portion of my data, and with file names and much of the file structure intact.

Well worth the money.

This totally saved me

This totally saved me. I had a failed NAS (2 drives) and connected them to a SATA cradle. The reclaime software found the drive, indexed over 1TB of data in about 2 hours and then recovered 100%, easily transferring it to a USB drive. Customer service was very responsive and helpful. Quotes from data recovery firms were 4 times what I paid for the software. A worthwhile and highly recommended product.

Look No Further, This Is A GEM !!!

One of my external hard drives suddenly became corrupted where a partition showed "RAW" format instead of NTFS like it was and my PC nor my Media player device would not recognize it. I not only lost all my family videos but I lost my mind too ! I did extensive research for file retrieving software and even purchased one that only recovered some of the video's I had and did not come back with what folders they were in nor their original file names. Then I luckily came across this software GEM that not only recovered 100% of everything I had on that hard drive But... They came back with the exact way that I had organized them onto the hard drive before, Believe me, I was ecstatic about seeing all my precious videos back with all the original file names and even in organized folders that I put them in. Look No Further... I highly recommend that this GEM of a software is the best out there at a very reasonable price to get if you have a corrupted hard drive or accidentally delete any of your Files, Documents, Music or Video files. Very easy to use and a blessing to the people that made this software. Bravo To Reclaime !!!

A thousand blessings upon the folks at ReclaiMe!

I sat despondent, my whole life passing before my eyes, staring at my NAS flashing it's error LED.
I am chanting out loud in cadence with the LED,
"No. No. No. No. No. No. No.", etc.

Spent a week on the NAS manufacturer's support forum to determine with absolute certainty that my NAS box now possessed the the data management capabilities of a common brick.
The forum recommended ReclaiMe...
and ONLY ReclaiMe,
to deal with this inscrutable Btrfs RAID configuration
thingy.

So what do I do? Well... I mount my Btrfs disks on
a Linux box and try my hand at sorting things out.
Ya, know what? Btrfs is a LOT more complicated than FAT12. The data was there alright, but at the rate I was manually piecing files together, I figured it would take me about 1000 years to retrieve everything. And with all my other daily chores, I just didn't have the time.

So I download ReclaiMe and 24 hours later...
life is worthwhile again!
I have recovered ALL my terabytes, completely intact. The $$ I spent on ReclaiMe is one of the best
investments (You get a perpetual license!) I have ever made.

p.s. Do yourself a BIG favor and read the well-written
ReclaiMe instructions. Could save you many hours.
Also, their website has a lot of good general info.
Read it while you are waiting for their software to hand you your data on a silver platter!

A life saver!

I had an unexpected failure to my NAS drives. I had two 4TB RAID 1 drives and I thought I'm safe. Unfortunately, the unexpected happened and because my drives were mirrored, the Btrfs failed on both drives. I spent hours and hours trying to recover my files, I asked a friend who is really knowledgeable about these kinds of problems. He did a lot of work in Linux environment trying to recover the files. He reached out to someone who claimed to be an expert on Btrfs and they both confirmed that my data is unrecoverable. I reached out to data recovery services and I realised that I'll pay them for something close to software I can own forever so I can use it again when needed. I came across Reclaime and these guys were extremely helpful. They logged remotely into my system and did some magic work and my files were available to me. You can try the software before paying a cent, once you are confident that you can recover your files you can pay for the license. These guys know what they are doing, for RAID 1, I didn't see any other software that can help. Great job Reclaime team, you are a life saver.
