Very Useful…
I found Reedsy easy to use and it helped me to find multiple high quality professionals in no time at all. User friendly interface and great communications.

Very disappointed with Reedsy
Very disappointed with Reedsy. I made a genuine request for help with a book cover and received a response that felt unnecessarily rude and unhelpful. A little professionalism and willingness to assist would have gone a long way.

Amazing experience
I recently hired a developmental editor through Reedsy and was thoroughly impressed with the service. The curation of talent is excellent, communication was smooth, and the quality of work was outstanding. I’ll definitely be using Reedsy again for future projects."
Freelancers - Don't waste your time...
Don't waste your time if you are a freelance editor and proofreader. Without "traditional" experience your profile will not be approved. With multiple years of experience working well published Indie authors, Reedsy still will not approve my profile and allow me to work through their website. They also will not give you "personalized feedback" even though each profile is reviewed by an actual person... Very frustrating and not worth the time to create the profile.

The editing made it seem so effortless
The editing made it seem so effortless, it was much easier than any other platform I have used. It resulted in me finishing up the major portions of editing in a couple simple steps!
Recommending Reedsy…
I would like to endorse Reetsy as highly competent and extremely satisfying. From the beginning they were thoroughly professional , and easy to work with. I would recommend them to anyone who has written a book and needs editorial or proofreading help.

Reedsy Made it Easy
Reedsy made it easy to find a perfect collaborator for my writing journey. The site provides full feedback and transparency on how the work is progressing and how payments are processing.
Also, the professionals available on Reedsy are topnotch.

I recently hired a copy editor through…
I recently hired a copy editor through Reedsy for my first novel and had a genuinely good experience. I was able to compare several editors and eventually found someone whose experience, editing style, and price fit what I needed.
Before hiring him, I had spent about eight months rereading and revising the manuscript. I thought it was relatively clean by the time I sent it off, but the tracked manuscript showed me how much I had still missed. Beyond correcting errors, the editor’s comments taught me quite a bit about house style, CMOS, consistency, and the small decisions that have to be made across an entire book.
If I did it again, I would probably hire an editor earlier. I’m not saying I would send out a rough first draft, but I spent months repeatedly correcting things that a professional editor identified much more efficiently. Getting that guidance six months earlier might have saved me considerable time.
Obviously, the experience will depend heavily on the individual editor you choose, so I’d recommend looking closely at each editor’s background and sample work rather than hiring someone solely because they’re on the platform. In my case, though, the process worked well and I’m glad I used it.
Makes your goals feel in reach
It’s very organized, easy to use, and really allows aspiring writers to make that step towards achieving their writing goals. I like how I can both write my manuscript and then switch to a different section and have access to information on my characters, plot, or anything else. Above all, my favorite feature is the ability to set a writing goal and date and have the studio tell you how much to write per day to reach that goal. Once again, it makes the goal feel more in reach and not impossible.
Overall, the studio’s the way to go instead of using word or Google Docs. The only thing I’d like to be able to see is the total amount of pages written. Then again, maybe you do have that feature and I haven’t found it.
An absolute rip-off
An absolute rip-off. This must be made for book snobs to try and overcharge people who are clueless about starting new novels and writing. I was giving a quote of $5,000 for copy editing on a novel that has less than 50,000 words. That's just for the copy editing. It's absolutely unbelievable that people would think that anyone would want to pay this type of work when they only have to make a promise they're not going to use ai. Do yourself a favor and find a good AI service that won't rip you off like reedsy. The rip off so called writers that you're trying to hire are only going to overcharge you and probably use AI anyways. Absolutely rip off don't use this website or platform

My first time, but not my last
This was my first book, and Reedsy connected me with both my copyeditor and cover designer. My book genuinely would not be what it is today without each of them.
What I appreciated most is that Reedsy never made either relationship feel like I was purchasing a standardized service through a platform. I was hiring individual professionals whose portfolios, experience, proposals, and personalities I could evaluate for myself. Once we started working together, Reedsy facilitated the relationship without getting in its way.
Both experiences were exceptional. My copyeditor didn’t just improve the manuscript, she taught me an enormous amount about the craft along the way. My cover designer understood the book well enough that I genuinely can’t imagine it with another cover anymore. I’m already planning to work with him again.
Two-sided marketplaces are extraordinarily difficult products to get right because the software isn’t really the product. Trust between the people on either side of it is.
Reedsy gets that right.
I came looking for professional help finishing my first book. I left with a book I’m proud of and two professionals I’ll work with again. Five stars from me.
Best place to find editors and cover artists
Reedsy has been the best place to find quality editors and cover artists. I use them for all my books!
I just used Reedsy for my book: The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program Your Complete Step-by-Step Guide to $50-Month Access and Success
I just used Reedsy on advice from Grok, the X AI agent, who said Reedsy was the best "Free" platform for layout and automatically formatting my new book for Amazon: The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program:
Your Complete Step-by-Step Guide to $50-Month
Access and Success.
In about 10 minutes of use, it was practically idiot proof to effectively use Reedsy to lay out and format the book that was already written in MS Word.
It was easy to import the Word file and automatically set up things like chapters and insert graphics.
Then, once I was happy with the layout, I was able to do some secondary editing directly within Reedsy, which was a big help.
After I was happy with the manuscript, it was a simple click of a button to export in both eBook and PDF file formats.
To publish on Amazon KDP(Kindle Direct Publishing), you need the eBook format, which was so simple to provide with Reedsy.
And the best part for me, a 72-year-old retired guy on a fixed income, is that it's FREE! Did I mention that doing all of this was FREE?
I would recommend Reedsy to anyone looking for an easy way to get started in publishing your first book.
In a field where EVERYONE wants a fee to "help" you get to your goals, Reedsy delivers high value for free for basic layout/formatting.
Now, if you need help with editing, cover design, and distribution, Reedsy has those services too.
Why I love reedsy
I love that I can see how far i have come in my book, and see how many words i have added and deleted.
And how much i have to write every day to reach my word goal in time!
I have recommended this to people i talk with on tiktok.
Wonderful tool for writers!
I’ve been working on publishing my first manuscript and for quite some time. I’m very lost to the process and not knowing where to turn or who to trust.
I asked AI who is trustworthy and legitimate and that’s how I found Reedsy. They have so much to offer that doesn’t cost a thing. Then if you need extra help from a professional, there is a long list of bios for you to choose from! This platform is wonderful for rookies like me! I definitely recommend to anyone wanting to write or just publish what they’ve already written!
Access to many literary professionals
I don't think there's any other way to access so a huge number of literary professionals. For self-published or indie authors without the benefit of an agent or publisher to connect them to editors, proofreaders and so on, this is a really good resource. The only downside is that costs can get quite high and aren't super clear until you get quotes through from multiple editors to see if you're getting the a decent deal.
Quality of finding book coaches, editors, is top-notch!
Reedsy.com made the process of finding a book coach easy, as well as making it easy to set up the meetings with my coach. I am impressed with the talent and background of their coaches, editors, and developmental editors. Reedsy.com is now my go-to resource for all things writing!
