We had the best guide ever in Borneo and would highly recommend both the travel agency and our guide Peter.

We just finished our wonderful trip to Borneo,(and Bali) arranged by Rustic Borneo. We are very satisfied with our trip and everything was well planned. We were six persons two in the 60´ss, two in the 40´s and two kids aged 10 and 13.
From our first contact with Lotte we felt save and she understood our wishes and changed the tour after our wishes and gave ideas and inspiration. We always had a fast response on my emails and i loved that we could book some things on our own, and Rustic Borneo the rest. Including free choice if we wanted them too book our flights or if we wanted to do it ourselves. Very good service.
All of the guides were kind, but especially Ken who spent two days with us from Kota Kinabalu to Sepilok and Shahniza (eco tours) who we also spent two days with, from Sepilok and in Sukau were excellent. They were kind, professional, smiling and service minded. Ken really did what he could to make the days as good for us as possible. Understood our wishes, waited and took care of my mom when the walk in the rainforrest was a bit to hard, and even went looking for my dads camera which he lost during the walk in the forrest and tree tops. Shahniza even arranged birthday cake and birthday song from the staff for my daughters 11. years birthday in Sukau.
All in all we are very satisfied and will not hesitate to use Rustic Borneo agian.

In Feb & March 2018 we were travelling through Malaysia and Borneo with RUSTIC BORNEO.

It was one of the best and most beautiful journies of our lifes. We liked Malaysia and Borneo a lot - the people and the nature were amazing! - and Rustic Borneo made our trip even more unforgettable because of their perfect organisation and planning.

Everything, from the pick-ups at the airports to driving into the rainforest, was planned well and executed professinally.

The guides in the jungle (e.g. Akhmal and Dido) and in the Kuala Lumpur (Mr. Tan and his female colleague) did a perfect job to enhance our experience of Malaysia! We had great moments with people and culture over there and enjoyed our 18 days in Souteast Asia a lot.
Everybody we met in Malaysia was contributing to this wonderful experience.
Thanks to the Rustic Borneo Team aspecially Sistine :-) and the local guides, that this holiday will stay in our memory forever!

Wir sind 18 Tage im Feb./März/2018 mit Rustic Borneo unterwegs gewesen und es war der bester und schönste Urlaub unseres Lebens. Nicht nur weil das Land Malaysia/Borneo einfach ein Traum war und die Menschen die uns begegnet sind so nett waren, sondern weil auch das Reisebüro eine tolle Arbeit leistet indem sie die ganze Reise bis auf das kleinste Detail perfekt durchplanten.

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und extrem schöne und unvergessliche Erlebnisse im Regenwald mit unserem Guide Akmal in Danum Vallly und Dido in Kinabatangan KWR und genauso lustige Momente in Kuala Lumpur mit Mr. Tan und seiner Crew. Jede einzelne Person, die uns in diesem Urlaub begleitet hat, hat uns seine eigene Sicht auf das Land/Kultur/Leute nahe gebracht und uns damit wieder ein großes Stück in unserem Leben bereichert.

We had an excellent tour which included:
* Kota Kinabalu - arrival from KL midday and stay until midday 2 days later
* Sandakan, Sepilok Forest Edge Resort - 1 day "free & easy", morning with guide before river transfer to Sukau Lodge
* Sukau Lodge - 2 nights with a full day in between before early morning transfer to Lahad Datu and on to the Borneo Rainforest Resort
*Borneo Rainforest Resort - 2 nights with full day plus 1/2 day before transfers back to KK
* KK - two nights with full day in between plus day before pick up for flights to KL and on to Sydney

Rustic Borneo arranged for us an excellent trip during which everything ran smoothly and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the accommodation and (for the most part) the food on offer.

Particularly we would like to mention the hosts friendliness, expertise and communication skills for the various activities.

The only reason this didn't reach 5 stars were the following points from our perspective:

- Food trip day could be improved, Lukhwant was EXCELLENT, but the horse riding was a bit unnecessary and random and out of the way. This also made the day really long. My advice would be to start later and make the day shorter, perhaps having free time before the traditional dinner which again was excellent.

- Make the itinerary pick up times clearer, we had to check as the font was so small that we didn't realise the difference between the draft itinerary before travelling and the detailed one provided on pick-up (this is partly our fault which I accept).

- The mountain guide for Mount Kinabalu appeared really uninterested in us and spoke poor English. He essentially followed us up and down the mountain (I guess this may be out of your control) but was a shame considering how nice the other people had been on the trip.

To finish on a positive, particularly brilliant were both Selingan and Lankayan Islands (particularly Lankayan) and the rafting.

Overall an excellent, good value and well organised trip, for which we thank Rustic Borneo (Joe) for arranging. We would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

We had a great travel! Everything was exellent: the help, planning, accommodation, food, experience... everything! We are so happy with the trip!

We did 4 weeks of travelling across South East Asia. Especially in the planning, we got a lot of help and advises. I can highly recommend this company.

Overall it was a okay experience. The guides from Rustic Borneo were not great, they did not interact with us much, just drove us to/from places.
Maybe because their english wasn't great, we were not sure. The restaurants the guides took us to were not great. Rungus Longhouse was not a great experience because when we got there no one was there to actually talk to us. We were just given our room and were pretty much left on our own, when the whole point was to engage with indigenous people. Don't think I would use this agency again.

Spent two weeks travelling through Sabah with mum, dad and 11 year boy and 8 year girl, on an itinerary organised by Rustic Borneo. Le Meridien KK was great, snorkel trip from Jesselton pier and Zip line was great, Fig Tree farm stay in Kiulu valley was excellent, Sepilok forest retreat was ok, Green View lodge and river safari was average and a long way to travel from Sandakan (2.5 hours on a very average road), Lankayan island with diving, snorkelling and turtle hatching was a real highlight for the whole family (could have spent 4 nights here, 2 was not quite enough), Shangri-La Rasa Ria was a fantastic way to end the holiday.
Throughout the trip Rustic Borneos organisation was seamless - definitely recommend using them.

Rustic Borneo ensured we had the best possible experience on our holiday in Borneo. Transfers were seamless, all our accommodation in Sabah was flawless and our guides were just amazing.

In general we were very happy with the trip and therefore with Rustic Borneo - our only complaint is that of lack communication from Joe before hols and during hols when plane was cancelled.

My partner and I had the most amazing trip organised by rustic Borneo. It was so perfectly organised and we really couldn't complain about a single thing. The staff were incredibly friendly and all of the accomodation was amazing. The day trips and tours are something we will remember forever. Borneo is a must do if you love nature and incredible wildlife and rustic Borneo tours made it that much better.

What a wonderful experience. We felt totally looked after from start to finish. All the guides we had really knew what they were talking about and we had the best time.

The initial contact with Rustic Borneo was excellent. Fast, detailed and tailored to what we wanted. When we arrived we were greeted by our private driver and all the trips we booked onto surpassed our expectations. All the guides were passionate and knowledgable. However, as the trip went on we did feel some of the standards slip and the hotels and restaurants we visited weren't what we felt were unto the standard or price we had paid. It was a shame as it all started so well but it did dip at the end.

My Husband and I spent our Honeymoon in Borneo utilising Rustic Borneo's Travel itinerary. We had an amazing time! Every aspect of our trip was seamless, and extremely prompt. All the staff that we encountered were extremely polite, professional and helpful.

We had one day on our trip that didn't go quite to plan, but Rustic Borneo changed our travel plans immediately with no hassle.

We rate the operating standard of Rustic Borneo extremely highly and we are hoping to be back in Borneo utilising their expertise again in the near future. Definitely a 5/5!!

Our experience with the booking personnel, and the personnel at our holiday destinations were a real pleasure from start to finish. Everything was clear, on time, and worked like clockwork. The recommended destinations and visits were amazing and moving from one location to another was flawless!
I would wholeheartedly recommend this company with no shadow of a doubt or hesitation!

Great company. Really helpful before our trip and everything worked well from the moment we landed. Great guides and prompt efficient transfers. Helped us to enjoy northern Borneo's wildlife and hospitality.

From the very get go this company was amazing. Nothing was to hard for them to organise or alter to our liking. They responded extremely promptly to any of my e mails. Me and my best friend had absolutely amazing time. All the accomodations were so much better than we thought. The price was very good if not cheaper than it would be if we booked it ourselves. We were scared that we will be stuck in big groups or people touring with them, however that was not the case. We were driven everywhere privately. All our tours and attractions were just for us plus a guide. All of the guides spoke great english and were just such amazing people with a whole lot of knowlege.

I cannot thank you guys enough. I traveled a lot and this was definately my best holiday for the best price. I am and will recommend you to absolutely everybody and even though i know how to operate in the country, i am positive that i will be booking through you next time as well. Once again thank you Rustic Borneo and thank you Joe for being such an amazing person helping us with every detail.

We had made our own reservation at a dive resort, and rustic borneo created a custom safari package around our dive arrangements, with perfect accommodation, transportation, and the best guides we have ever had.
