The product is okay but not worth the premium cost

---------Edit 2/23/2025. --------
After Ryder Toys saw this message they sent me the missing motor. Only problem was that they actually sent the incorrect motor. That being said, I was able to swap the gears out of the incorrect motor over to the original and now the toy is working again. I truly appreciate the attempt to fix the issue, but the experience is still a 3.5 for me.

---Original review 10/11/2024-----
The product is fine, but it's not nearly as American as they would have you believe. The motors that actually make the wheels go are cheaply made as are the controls for things like music/shifting. Needed to replace all 4 wheel motors after 4 months of use and the parts were not available when we needed them. Some 2 months later we were able to pay for the parts which was nearly as expensive as buying a cheaper version of the same toy.

Our child does LOVE this toy but they promise a lot and deliver very little in the way of quality or support.

Ordered the awd buggy for our son…

Ordered the awd buggy for our son around June, a motor went out after just a few weeks, emailed them finally got around to them ordering it in july, still waiting on the motor. Service is garbage as all they say is we are escalating this up, but I never hear any responses.

Driving in snow is more fun

Driving in snow is more fun than in mud and soon we will get to try it again. We bought it last year and it has held up well, against all the odds as my kid has done some damage but nothing too serious.

I am so greatly disappointed..

I am so greatly disappointed... this is not a quality product. It is clunky and cheaply made. The price point on this product is far too high because I have had nothing but problems.
- There are deep scratches on the hood from shipping.
- I never received the custom license plate even after reaching out multiple times.
- Multiple mounting locations for parts are broken.
- Multiple mounting locations are stripped so screws are not tight
- Two out of the four brackets for the battery are broken.
- The lights on the bully bar do not work and the bully bar will not seat into its mounting locations appropriately.
- The rear drive motors were wired incorrectly causing the vehicle to not drive. I had to unplug and switch wires.
- The FM radio does not work.
- After less than 30 minutes of play on pavement the steering motor broke. Now I am unable to steer the vehicle using the remote and this is one of the main reasons that I purchased this product.

This was a birthday gift for my son and at this point I am regretting my purchase. We are unable to use this expensive item now because my son cannot manually steer it on his own yet.

Shameful company

Everything was great until we needed a replacement part. We were told 2-3 weeks but 5 months later we’re still without the replacement part. They have what seems like automated emails. Really a shame because we were so excited for our son. Went the entire summer without using it. Not going to recommend.

Do not buy Ryder power wheels

Do not buy Ryder power wheels, they do not cover anything under their warranty. I paid $750 for their power wheels, battery doesn’t hold charge within 3 months and they won’t replace it.

The scratches were quick to come

The scratches were quick to come, not sure if it was due to our own foolishness or what but there they are. For transparency I must add that I didn't keep an eye on my child all the time so could be their work.

Don't buy it, You can find better on TikTok from China for WAY cheaper

While I can appreciate what Ryder is trying to do, they are junk for the price. Higher price does not == better.

For starters their link in the follow up email to leave a review is non existent.

The real problem though is how they engineered this things. With in 5 minutes my daughter buster her face on the steering wheel. When driving the car, and then taking your foot off the accelerator the vehicle wheels lock up as if one were slamming on the breaks, instead of the car easing to a stop the wheels lock up and she was thrown into the steering wheel busting her face. She is now terrified of the near $1000 purchase.

I guess what they say is true, a declining empire produces crap masquerading as something grand.

DON'T reccomend

DON'T reccomend! Unfortunately, we received a lemon. Rather than sending us a new car and picking up the broken one, Ryder has insisted that we troubleshoot and take the time to wait for and then install replacement parts ("because that is their policy"). In our case, the troubleshooting process will require taking apart parts of the car that we did not have to put together in the first place. We can understand following this warranty policy IF the car was in good working order and THEN stopped working, but the car LITERALLY NEVER worked properly. We spent over $800, gave our daughter a broken item on her birthday, and now have to go through the hassle of attempting to fix the car. What horrible customer service. Our fear is that the replacement parts #1. won't fix the car and then WE will have to pay to ship it back "because that is their policy" and/or #2. that the car was never right in the first place. We will NEVER purchase from this company again, and we will be making sure all of our friends and family know not to either. What a disappointment.

Ryder Toys does not actually exist.

Notice to all: Ryder Toys Does NOT exist. They are simply selling products made by a Chinese company called Hollicy. Don't fall for it. This is not a small family business other than the money may end up in the bank account of a family lol. You can actually purchase the same exact buggies from many other companies, the company that manufactures these toys is called Hollicy. Rider Toys is a lie, and almost a scam in my opinion. Do not trust them. The second you have an issue they will not stand by you. Do not purchase! Customer service is beyond horrible. I suspect that many of the five-star ratings here on trustpilot are not real, or are from people who just purchased the vehicle.

Continuing to try to fix my vehicle myself, now it seems that the batteries are fine but the charging capability is not working, they told me to go online and watch videos on how to fix it myself, test the voltage, purchase a new charging module, purchase a new charging cord.

Just downright horrible service! Heartbreaking to have a $900 paperweight.

If my satisfaction was your top…

If my satisfaction was your top priority my $900 toy would be working. I bought this for my 6 year old daughter, she used it for six weeks and 9 months later we are still waiting for two back ordered parts.

How about, 'we order cheap parts from China, put them in $900 toys and when we get' new' ones we put the in the 'new' $900 toys instead of satisfying our current customers! '

That's my experience with your product. I am tired of my now 7 year old looking at her dismantled toy hoping some day it will work.' maybe when you are 16!',says a sarcastic father.

How much do you suck?

ALOT!!!!

I will gladly rate my experience when you offer negative star reviews.

Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible. The all wheel drive buggy was ordered as a Christmas present for my twin boys. After two weeks the rear motors stopped working. It took six months to get replacements as the thing sat in my garage with my kids asking every day when it was going to be fixed. I finally received new motors after six months of waiting. After a few days of riding the front motors burnt up now I am waiting again. I will probably just cut my losses and take it to the dump. Huge waste of money and time.

It has a lot of potential

It has a lot of potential. The price was more or less what we were expecting to pay but decided to go with them as they seem to be in this business for years and I don't think we went wrong here.

I wish I would have read the reviews…

I wish I would have read the reviews first. This place is a huge rip off. The motors started going bad 4 days after buying this and they said it was normal to make the noise. The radio stopped working altogether and they sent me a trouble shooting video and have not anything to actually alleviate my problem. I’m very disappointed after spending all this money. A Walmart car would have lasted longer.
