Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 43 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with recent software updates, finding them to be detrimental to their phone's functionality and user experience. People reported numerous issues, including rapid battery drain, apps not working correctly, and difficulties with basic phone operations like transferring photos or restarting the device. The updates were often described as making the phones nearly useless, with some even considering switching brands despite being long-time users. Reviewers also highlighted frustrating changes to the user interface, such as altered layouts, smaller icons, and awkward navigation for settings and notifications. Some people mentioned issues with specific features like the camera not working properly, problems with predictive text, and the forced integration of unwanted applications. The overall sentiment was that the updates complicated usage rather than improving it, leading to a less intuitive and more frustrating experience for many.

Updates adding apps I didn't want

Seems like every time my phone updates now, I have to remove apps it installed that I didn't want in the first place. NOT COOL. Seems like you're trying to use up all the space on my phone so I have to get a new one. Some of these apps leave stuff behind that can't be removed from the phone.

I rely heavily on my Samsung notes for research purposes.

I rely heavily on my Samsung notes to keep links that I refer to a lot. Since the latest update where AI was downloaded, my notes have become unusable. I can't click on links anymore as it stopped appearing blue and being saved as a link. It now just saves as text. Updates should make phones better, not worse. And stop forcing Updates on us. Things work fine and when you don't update, things start to go wrong (by design). Then after some updates, features are lost. I'm ready to ditch my Samsung altogether. Know other phones are just as bad. Technology is becoming crap.

If I want to updates my phone I would

If I want to updates my phone I would. I have own a samsung phone since 2005 and am tired of the monthly updates. Really ready to get rid of this one it's a 24 ultra plus. How does this phone need monthly sometimes bimonthly updates at less than a year old. I will never buy another samsung phone, we currently own 4, 2 tvs a washer and dryer set, and refrigerator. Will never buy another product from samsung because this has made me so angry.

Amazing, then one update ruined it.

It was amazing untill one horrible update. I had 3 swipanle buttons on my screen that worked perfectly and looked great. Now with the update, there's only one swipable button and you have to do a gesture with the button to mimick the other two buttons and I still have no idea what the gesture is supposed to be, It takes me 5 to 10 tries of that gesture to get to my opened apps screen. It was perfect and now it's horrible. From 100 to 0 really really quick.

I am currently on my 4th Samsung but to be completely honest the last batch of updates have made be reconsider my choice and i have made the decision to purchase a different brand. Updates should be an improvement not an anxiety driven annoyance that takes over your life everytime you need to use your phone.
One would thing iphone has infiltrated the Samsung tech team in order to destroy their competitors, i don't think im too wrong with this assumption.

Disappointing Experience with Recent Update and Navigation Bar Change

I typically don't pay much attention to updates since they usually don't affect my settings. However, the recent update has caused some frustration for me. It has unexpectedly altered the navigation bar, which I had customized to be simple and user-friendly. Unfortunately, I am now unable to revert it to its previous state. If there was a way to avoid or undo this change, it would greatly improve the user experience. Overall, this has been a disappointing and inconvenient experience.

This update is the worst so far. The icon images are terrible. Looks tacky. The order of messages and ads are annoying. Someone gets paid too much money to come up with crap.

Stupid updates did not want or need

Stupid updates did not want or need. Ruined the way my S21+ looks and works. Want to Turn off Auto Updates? Cant do that now. Forced upon the phone with no way to stop it. New emoji's are dumb.
Notifications removed text and call alerts. If you do not hear it when it comes in, no way to know you got a msg unless you look. My Old phone would beep or click every 5 to 10 minutes when calls or text came in and did it until message was read.
Update means you F'd up the original program and have to fix it. There should be 0 updates. It either works or it doesnt. My phone battery dies faster as well. Not Happy about this. Are you trying to get us to switch to something else? Huawei phone Perhaps?

I hate this new update so much I'd instantly consider new brand of phone. Basically everything visually is worse. Swipe down feature is now grey and items moved around and can't change as easily. Ohhh a let's not forget that everything that wasn't an app got deleted from my screen. Bookmarks gone work material gone

Awful update this time

Awful update this time - the camera picture quality is worse and very fiddly to edit, the constant dark tone is annoying, can't stand the chunky clock numbers. And more freezing. Aargh! Samsung seem to hate their customers judging by comments on review sites. Will go back to i-phone next time.

Well well well another screw up!

Another screw up by Samsung. They either hate their customers or an insider mole wants to sabotage their product. Why am i not surprised?! Reading all these negative reviews has inspired me to go Motorola, a change is as good as a holiday.

Maybe the worse update yet. EMOJIS

This is definitely quite possibly yall worse update... WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR EMOJIS?? Please cha ge them back. They look like IPhone emojis now. You took their slick shine away from them and they look blah... PLEASE PUT THE EMOJIS BACK!!
Continue to add all the newest ones but don't take that slick design and shine away from them... 😒😑😫 I mean what is 👈🏼 🤦
Also the "pull down tool bar" is ruined! Please go back to the blue shaded tool options.
When I'm using Google, some of the time, it takes forever to load.. I was thinking it was wifi or data issues. Ut then other ppl are complaining about the same thing..
And what the heck did yall do with the calender??? EVERYTHING WAS WORKING JUST FINE! Just please put it all back to the way is was... Dont fix something that isn't broke. IVE ALWAYS USED SAMSUNG. ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE GALAXY S8.. I'll always choose Samsung over Apple ANY DAY! But don't go messing things up now.. YALL WERE DOING SO GOOD
