Was given a low ball price. Which they then upped to a reasonable level so I booked the appointment.
Never showed up. When I contacted them the next day they said they'd check and call back. They never called back but they booked me in for another day (they didn't ring me they just sent an email) and the quote had dropped in price! So I had to ring BACK and cancel but their "system couldn't find me". Shocking! I took the afternoon off work waiting for them. I do NOT recommend!

Called and agreed price and collection date for Friday , no one came out on Friday after I took the day off work for this also after calling the number provided for follow up information about when car will be collected today (Monday) they claimed that they had emailed me with a change off date however I had not received this email/message he is claiming was sent by global ardour regarding change off collection and last communication I had was with scrap local and the person on the phone who I spoke to was very condescending and rude making me cancel altogether and look elsewhere

Got paid with no hassles

I arranged a pick up for my car a couple of days ago and they never showed up. I called 3 times and each time they said they will call me back as high priority but no one called. I even emailed and didn’t get a response. I waited in all day and no one showed up. They haven’t called me since to let me know why or to rearrange another collection

I received a call offering me over and above any other quote. We scheduled pick up for the following day but a slot had become available the very same day. A lovely guy turned up and the whole thing went very smoothly. I then received my money 2 days later. Great company! Thank you

This company went above and beyond on my collection we had such bubbly and helpful lady on the phone called Emma she a credit for you my mum had non stop help from this young lady the car was collected within the hour by a lovely recovery driver normally the haggle at the viechle but no gaurenteed price ment gaurenteed hope the boss understands he has the upmost best staff

Glad I didn't put my real phone number in for the quote why can't you guys email a price and after reading many reviews and the main problem is missing payments I'm going to look elsewhere unless you offer to pay the money before you drive away with my toyota celica

I’m not quite sure who is to blame - Scrap Local or the company who is supposed to be paying me (Global Ardour) but as neither seems willing to pay then both are getting bad reviews.

I’ve so far been waiting for payment five days beyond the date I was promised/GUARANTEED payment. Next step will be police as this is theft, removing an asset without paying for it.

UPDATE: the owner/director of Scrap Local has resolved this issue, he called me as promised and the money was in my account within minutes. Hopefully GA will not continue to cause this business problems; Martin was incredibly proactive and could not apologise enough. I’ve therefore adjusted my score to reflect this - thank you Martin.

I sold my truck and haven't been paid the collection was great I appreciated the driver rang up and said he was not going to make it in the morning due to some issues. The driver told me I would be paid that evening and I wasn't so rang this morning and said the lady said someone would ring me back later no one ever rang back so rang at half 5 tonight explained no one had rang me back and I haven't been raid she told me I would be paid between 5 and 7 this evening I still have not been paid I explained I needed the money to insure new car and have now missed a days work because of it and possibly a second day to which I can't afford to. If I knew payment would be an issue I would have used someone else. Currently feeling let down by the company past scrap yards have paid with in hour of collection

Re writing this review as this horrible business wants to make their customers look bad.

Yesterday I was booked in for a scrap collection at 9-12 morning slot. The driver had contacted me personally stating they’d be at the location at 9:30am. As a result I went to the location at 9:30am. The driver was not there hence why I called him and he was still at home and said to give him an hour so I did. This business really have no shame with lying. I had first called the office at 10:10am stating what has happened just to inform them (in a kind way). And they said to wait till 12 which is what I did.

An hour from when the driver had “set off” had passed and I called him to see where he is. He was “filling diesel” and would be there in 17 minutes. So I was again okay with that . Since then I waited 45 mins more and no calls were answered from him and as a result I called the office in frustration , not “abuse”. Abuse is simply a frustrated customer to them. These people at the office had stated the driver was on other jobs which is a lie as the driver then picked up my call at 12:05 stating his tyre is flat 🤣.

Either way it was past 12 and they had broken their commitment and I had other things to do. I told the office to get the driver to call me as he was quite literally dismissing my calls. I then got in contact with the driver and told him to be here at 1:30pm and I’d come back again.

Unfortunately I fell for the lies again and I came back at 1:30 and he’s still at “home” (bear in mind the office keep lying saying he’s on a job). Right now it’s been about 5 hours of my time wasted and I am very frustrated as I should be, anyone who values their time would be very frustrated. However these people didn’t seem to care.

The driver then told me he’d be an hour away from 1:30, which i again said okay but told him that he needs to be here and not waste my time because it’s ridiculous. I called him again at 2:30 and he’s not picking his phone up. Called him several times and some other guy picks up saying he “left his phone” and is on his way.

I told the office about this and they said it’s not on them as they can’t do nothing. Their customer service is trash and if you want to be waiting like a slave while they mug your time off please go ahead with these lot. Yes they quoted me a decent price but don’t let them sell you dreams. I waited till 3:45pm and no calls nothing . This company claim that I abused their driver or staff, but any human on earth will be as frustrated as I am if they had to wait 6-7 hours and constantly been lied to by both parties. Speaking sternly to them is abuse to them. They don’t care for their customers who rely on them . They did not care to compensate for their stupid lying actions and I asked several times to send another driver but they couldn’t arrange nothing. Again if you desire to be mugged with your time, please do book with them as they are amazing at that.

Good luck doing business when you have careless drivers and staff who can’t follow up and value a persons time. worst company ever I don’t recommend. And ps I found a scrap place offering higher than you so thanks for the luck👍👍

Car was collected and payment made that's not the Issue. Problem is they never registered the car as off road or scrap with the DVLA so the direct debit kept coming out of my bank. Had to write to the DVLA myself even after the person on the call said they would do it. So lost £84.00 to the DVLA due to them not sending in the log book. Called them , left message no reply. My advice , write to the DVLA on the date they collect so the car tax will stop these guys wont.

Easy and rapid service and payment.
All worked as advertised and their customer service replied to my queries.

Before service seemed ok , but when they arrived to collect the car they started back tracking in price arranged . We came to an agreement and driver paid , however that's when it all really became a nightmare . Now they say they don't have the car and the DVLA say there's no proof it was sold ! The driver who collected the vehicle is ignoring calls too . So I'm legally still responsible for it ! Avoid if you don't want the headache.

I reply to Sraplocal (which took them 10 months to reply to my review) As my daughter was young and it was her first car, she didn't know what to do with the log book so their driver got her to fill it out and told her the buyer (him) had to send all the paperwork off. Unfortunately she believed him and it wasn't until she told me, that she realised she'd made a mistake. Then they dragged their feet, saying they hadn't got the logbook, it took weeks/months to sort out with the DVLA, This company were no help and avoided her calls on numerous occasions.

Speedy service, money transferred and logbook instantly updated. Higher price than any other website. Definitely recommended.

Came to collect when they said. Instant transfer of funds. Didn’t realise ‘Scrap Local’ was a third party.

All good. Collected as scheduled, payment received as promised, helpful on the telephone. As someone else mentioned, may not be the highest price given but a fair price and so far honest and reliable.

This company is great gave me twice as much as my local scrap yard offered. I was unaware it was a third company that would pick the car up and was a bit nervous today as the guy driving didn't know the address to write on the v5c but I text them and they gave it to me and the money is in my account now at 8pm car was collected today at about 11am so couldn't ask for better service. I highly reccomend these guys.

Not the highest price online but guaranteed. Process was seamless. Phone service excellent and available. Paid swiftly.
