Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the customer service, finding it unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to contact. Customers frequently encountered issues with the website and user experience, including login problems, non-functional features, and a confusing interface. The service itself was often described as unreliable, with many experiencing account suspensions or closures without notification, leading to significant inconvenience and operational challenges. Some people were dissatisfied with the company's communication regarding changes to their services, particularly when it involved pricing or account terms. However, some reviewers found the email editor UI to be convenient and intuitive, and felt that the service, despite its flaws, generally gets the job done if one understands how to use it.

Warning: Abrupt Suspension, Unfair Policy Enforcement, and Refund Denied

SendGrid abruptly suspended our account during a critical sales campaign, causing direct financial loss. The reason cited a dispute over generic email aliases and affirmative consent ignored our clear proof that our list consists *only* of existing users who provided their emails during checkout.

We sent only 3,437 emails out of the 50k quota. Despite our full cooperation and the severe business impact, they refused to lift the suspension under reasonable terms and ultimately denied our refund request. They took our money but prevented us from using the service.

Avoid SendGrid if you value fair policy judgment, reliable service, and a reasonable refund process.

No support, Cant Login, I Hate This Company

The password that I have saved in 1password, never changed it, stopped working to login to sendgrid.

Sendgrid wont charge my credit card, that is working elsewhere, so they shutoff my account

I cant login to the account. I changed the password and the changed password doesnt work

The only way to contact sendgrid is by logging into the account, which I cant do because the reset password doesnt work

So now none of our emails are going out to customers when they purchase our software, our customers with expired subscriptions are not getting emailed and nobody at sendgrid will reply

This is the second time this has happened

A "system" that rejects you instantly…

A "system" that rejects you instantly right after registration and SMS verification. They do it by sending an email without any explanation, just a message saying you’ve been denied. The support is chaotic as well, since you never receive any response… but in the end, it all makes sense considering their overall score of 1.2 (at the time of writing this)

I have a legitimate business but can't get in

I have a legitimate business, with legitimate customers, company, no spam, lots of email history, a clean mail address and these idiots automated service banned me before I could even get started. So as any legitimate business would, I reached out to them to only to get generic responses with no explanation or investigation. SendGrid use to a great job, now its seems like its run terribly. Please avoid and try something else.

My account ran out of the free tier and I tried to upgrade it to the paid tier this week and it's been a week and SendGrid is still verifying my account and doesn't want to upgrade me and I ran out of tokens in the free account and my operations have stopped!! I'm unable to reach security and I'm unable to upgrade and our production pipeline is built on it which is ridiculous. We need help ASAP. How can you maintain customers that way? This is really bad and our operations have stopped and we're kind of stuck with your email API right now with no change to be done. Please help us ASAP!!!!

Sendgrid is a platform for spammers and criminals

Sendgrid has turned into a PHISHING platform and they don't care.

My company is receiving dozens and dozens of phishing emails pretending to be from someone in our company. We reported all of them to Sendgrid and Spamcop, but nothing stemmed the flow. We finally had it and emailed a detailed list of these spams - including links to the full Spamcop reports - for every single one of them to the CEO and senior executives, and continue to send them in batches, as they're received.

Have we received a response? No. Has the flood of identical phishing emails from Sendgrid stopped? Also no.

If you want a credible and professional email platform, don't use Sendgrid. You'll be choosing to use a spam sewer that doesn't enforce their T&Cs, and there's every chance it will affect your deliverability.

I am documenting a severe and ongoing…Unacceptable Service Failure - Account Suspended for Days Without Resolution

I am documenting a severe and ongoing service failure with Twilio SendGrid that has critically damaged our business operations.

Our account was suspended, triggering a compliance review. We acted with utmost urgency and professionalism:

We answered all their compliance questions in detail within hours.

We immediately updated our payment method and processed the required payment.

We have followed up daily, providing all requested information.

Despite our full and prompt cooperation, Twilio SendGrid has completely failed to uphold their end of the service agreement.

The core issue is a complete breakdown in their support system:

No Resolution: It has been multiple days, and our account remains suspended.

No Communication: Support tickets are ignored or met with automated responses.

No Accountability: Tickets are passed between departments with no single point of contact or ownership.

No Respect for Business Impact: They have shown a total disregard for the severe financial and operational damage this outage causes to a paying customer.

We are a legitimate business that relies on email for client communication, and this prolonged, unresolved suspension has directly resulted in lost revenue and damaged client relationships.

I am writing this review as a final attempt to get someone's attention. We have exhausted all standard support channels. Their service, in this instance, has been utterly unreliable and their support non-existent.

I cannot stress this enough: If your business depends on email, be aware that your account can be suspended without warning and their support may simply not respond, leaving you with no recourse.

We have done everything asked of us, and the company's silence is both unprofessional and unacceptable.

We had used SendGrid for nearly three…

We had used SendGrid for nearly three years for our transactional and marketing emails. We are a small startup that has been building a free platform and directory for the Austin music community for over five years, and in that time we had grown our newsletter list to about 400 subscribers. We had been on their free plan with the intent of upgrading as our community grew, and overall, the service worked well for us.

In July and August 2025, SendGrid changed its tier plans. That is understandable since every business needs to make money, but the issue is that they never notified us. No email, no advance warning, nothing in the dashboard. The only mention was buried in a blog post we stumbled upon after the fact.

We accepted the higher pricing once we figured it out, but here is where it becomes unacceptable. SendGrid decided that if users did not update their plan by a certain date, they would permanently delete all contacts. That date and that consequence were never communicated to us. After paying for the updated plan, we received an email saying our entire list, three years of community-building, had been deleted. We contacted support, and after some back and forth, they told us there was no way to restore the contacts.

Here is the reality. We are a pre-revenue startup, and any company that makes major pricing changes without notifying users, then permanently deletes their data without warning, is not one we can trust. It signals leadership decisions that do not take their community into account and sets the stage for future missteps in communication and stakeholder care. We took our money elsewhere.

I suggest you do the same, because if they can delete our contacts without notice, one day they might delete yours too.
