Ordered an ottoman-style bed frame from Shein after seeing a lot of positive reviews across Shein and Temu and feeling reassured enough to give it a go. I was initially sceptical, but decided to take the risk.

The bed frame itself was actually very beautiful, however there was a significant issue with sizing once assembled. The mattress had an approximate 3-inch gap at the foot end, meaning it did not fit the frame as it should. I paid for a professional fitter to ensure correct assembly, and they confirmed the frame was structurally sound, but that this gap was not standard and should not be present.

After raising this with customer service and providing photos, written confirmation from the fitter, and detailed explanations, the initial response was disappointing. I received conflicting information from different agents — two advised I would need to return the item for inspection despite the evidence provided, and one said a return was the only option available. This directly contradicted what I had been told previously. I also made it clear I did not want to go through the hassle of dismantling the bed, paying additional charges to the fitter, and being left without a bed frame while the issue was being “inspected”, especially as my existing one had already been removed.

Eventually, after going back and forth, Shein did agree to a fair goodwill resolution. The money returned has since been used towards a decent no-drill method gap filler, which will help resolve the issue practically without further disruption.

My experience with customer service was mixed. At times it felt like I was being fobbed off with standard responses, but persistence and having clear evidence made a difference in reaching a resolution.

My advice to others: if you genuinely believe the product is not as described or not fit for purpose, don’t give up too quickly. Be clear, keep records, and stand your ground with facts. Also, do not accept the first offer straight away — in my experience it was low and not reflective of the issue, and only improved after further pushback.

3 stars is being awarded, only because after the first 2 agents who were very unhelpful. I did escalate further and got different agents who did communicate effectively, to try to reslove the issue fairly, to an acceptable resolve for both parties.

Horrific experience!! Shocking customer service, several items were not as described. Spent £50 and it’s all tat! Do not order here! I’ve wasted a lot of money on rubbish, I submitted evidence but they would not accept it. Dodgy company, stay far away! The photos are misleading and take part in false advertising, ridiculous

I have been waiting for a parcel to be delivered not turned up. They are an absolute disgrace. Can’t get in touch with anybody. I would like a refund on this item. Please suit as possible and get in touch with me. Thank you.

I had wrong and missing items in my order which I photographed and reported. After 30 minutes on live chat customer services said my order was correct!

**I BOUGHT £45 WORTH OF GYM TOPS AND WANTED TO RETURN 4 OF THE TOPS, THE RETURN VALUE SHOULD BE £24, SHEIN ARE SAYING THERE ONLY REFUNDING ME £10.45.... and saying I used coupons. Yes I used coupons but each top still worked out cheaper value, I just want that value that I paid so £6 a top rather than the £8.99 it was priced at before the voucher.

I have just received my order and they have sent the wrong size. Tried to contact their customer services but there is no contact number or e-mail address. How do they expect customers to return goods when the don’t provide information. Their mistake not mine. Definitely won’t buy from them again if this is not resolved.

They always use a terrible delivery company (Evri) which is known to be the worst delivery company in the UK and which results in packages being stolen because the couriers do not deliver the packages to my door and after I tell them this with proof they still refuse to refund or replace my items. I’ve seriously considered not ordering from them as much as I used to because they’re not a good company and they don’t care about the customers.

Shocking customer service. I had two items that didn’t show up and Shein are refusing to take accountability and refund the items!

Parcel delivered to wrong person wrong address. Extremely poor service as customer care - I have placed an order and it has been delivered to a different person at an address 251 miles away - They say thats the address we put in - How on earth would I put a random person and address to me thats unknown. I was told to go and retrieve the parcel myself 251 miles away. So unhelpful and dismisive - I require the company to contact me directly on my email to resolve - I replied and gor a no reply email

All of my items where stuck in transit for 5 wks ..delivered to warehouse but not sent out .eventually after the 4 wks I did get a refund BUT only after 3 messages to customer service. To which I was told to wait as in transit . They did give me the payments bk in the end tho ...what's goin on Shein ?

My parcel has been stuck with Evri,presumed lost for a week.
I've wasted time trying to get the misnamed "Customer Service" to refund. The are inept and repeat worthless platitudes, none of which have resulted in a refund. Requests to speak to a Manager are ignored.
Terrible company.

Update....no solution and no refund. Just more "thank you for your patience whilst we investigate". Do not use this company!!

I have been ordering from Shein for over two years I have never had a problem. I wash my clothes as I do from any store I buy from, before I wear them. I don't buy cheap clothing at $4.00. I bought the 30.00 items. I have gotten one item that was not what was advertised for over two years. So I love this store.

absolute Thiefs!! I have ordered so much from these my latest order over £300 and 2 items are missing, no accountabilty, not sending the items out of shein credit so I can reorder them, take my money and not give me my items...theft!!!

Stupid me, I believed the reviews on the Shein site. I bought 3 ourfits and 2 pairs of trousers. The material is cheap and nasty on all 5 items, I will never again buy clothes for myself from this site. Cudos to the photographers who manage to make the clothes look good when they are actually vile and I feel, a rip off. Its true that you get what you pay for. NEVER AGAIN
