It was my first time with Sicily by Car and the car was almost new. We were very happy with the service and the price was excellent. I have already booked two further rentals for the next few months ahead.

Easy to book, we had a great car, VW t cross. Ready to pick up after we had booked online, easy drop off. No fuss.
Thoroughly recommend

We had rented a VW T-Roc, but we were handed a smaller car of an inferior brand with a non-functional aircon. Without prior notice the company withdrew 1600 euros from our account for alleged damages. We registered no damage apart from some minor scratches which were already there, and of which we have photo evidence. But Customer service does not reply to our messages.

If I could give zero stars I would. The car we got broke down, which wasnt the problem, this happens. But the way the SBC dealt with the issue was appalling. We were told to get it back to the nearest airport, approx 2 hrs drive away (which wasn't possible). Or call road side assistance to get a tow truck to take it away. But we were then told, with the tow truck option, which really really annoyed me, we still had to get to the nearest airport to collect a new car, at our expense, financially and time. With 2 snall kids, one with additional needs. I asked why the tow truck couldn't bring us the new car and then take away the old one, to which THEY DIDN'T EVEN REPLY. we had to get the car jump started 7 times over 3 days. My husband is mechanically minded and knew the "starter" but they didn't care. Cars break down, this happens, but the way they handled the situation was awful, stay clear of this company!!! Such an obvious solution to keep everyone happy was get the new car delivered while taking away old one, but it shows common sense isn't all that common!!

Smooth experience start to finish, friendly and helpful at the check in desk, really great new car that I loved driving, smooth drop off experience where they walked round the car once and checked the fuel levels and that was it, also responsive over email to questions I had. Would give them a 9.5 out of 10

Honestly my experience was perfect. Since I took my car (with debit car using a supplement in the offer in order to pay with debit) until I gave the car back. The caution (300€) was gave back to me 2 hour after I gave back the car. 100% recommended

I had a lovely experience renting a car with SBC. Booking the car was easy using the app and pick up was smooth at palermo airport. Staff were helpful and showed us any damages the car already had and the car was new and a great drive. Will definitely be using them again next time i come to Sicily.

Generally a very good experience with a few niggles, some of which could be improved.
Good price.
Cars available are equivalents and new and in excellent condition.
Booking process is good, sadly they only give you a link to share your driver information 12 hours before you are due to collect. This would be easier at booking time. Also only for the main driver, not additional drivers so need to reconfirm all driver details at collection.
The usual push to upsell waiver insurance with the scare of you aren't insured. However not necessary if you have your own excess insurance.
The pending card transaction comes off your card same day on return of vehicle.
Drop off and collection were smooth. Especially if prebooked.
The Office is outside the airport building in Catania, but next to where all cars are collected.
Signposting both from the airport terminal and when returning the car at Catania is poor and you can easily end up trying to get into the wrong car return car park.

We recently traveled Sicily by car- Sicily by car was fantastic. Service was great and hassle-free. Recommend purchasing full coverage insurance through them. Also purchased priority counter service if picking up after 8:30. Several folks were ahead of us but we were called first. Competitively priced.

Kind staff, very easy check-in and check out, clean car. Big bonus: open office until 6 pm on Sundays!!! Little downside: located just a bit outside downtown (take bus or taxi from Bozen train station).

The check in desk was one of the worst I have experienced. When I arrived I had around 5/6 people in front of me. I used the QR code to put the info in ahead of time.

I have absolutely no idea what the other customers were doing. Maybe it was the customers fault, but somehow all other check in queues around me went down expect mine. It took an average of 15+mins per person and I was there for over an hour whilst not much happened apart from long conversations.

When I finally got to the till it took me 2 mins to get the keys - so I have no idea, maybe I was unlucky. Maybe they need to educate people better on what they need to get a car (one guy didn’t have a credit card, others sounded surprised by the excess insurance charge).

Credit to the person at the car drop off, this was seamless and pain free, but the picking up of the keys was an excruciating experience.

I like the range of cars and the efficency of the rental process.
I do not like the lack of signes and communication to find the local offices and receptions at the Caligari Airport. Also the walking distance from the arrival to the pick-up area of the cars is quite a distance.

Do not rent from Sicily by Car at Rimini Airport!

They provided us with a defective Alfa Romeo. Within the first days, the engine and AC system overheated, making the car unsafe to drive. Despite repeated emergency calls and messages, their customer support failed to provide proper assistance for approximately 24 hours.

We had to leave the broken car safely at our hotel, hand the keys to the reception staff, and pay for a taxi to the Rimini office ourselves just to get a replacement vehicle.

The situation at the office was equally unacceptable. A Sicily by Car employee at the reception behaved extremely rudely, repeatedly interrupting us and not even allowing my wife to speak and explain the situation.

After we returned to Lithuania, Sicily by Car attempted to charge €298 from our card without providing an invoice or clear breakdown. Later, their Debt Collection Department claimed this amount related to towing costs for their own defective vehicle. We subsequently received formal demands for more than €358.

We dispute these charges. Fortunately, we documented the vehicle’s condition with timestamped photos and kept all communications. Our bank also blocked the disputed charges.

Very disappointing experience from beginning to end. Think twice before renting from Sicily by Car.

I was a little nervous about renting a car in Albania,and driving there. There seemed to be hundreds of car rental options in Albania which made it difficult to choose a reputable company. I chose sicily by car due to the positive reviews. They were excellent. Wonderful staff at Tirana Airport put me at ease straight away. There was no hard sell for additional extras, but good advice about the add on insurance which was good value and made sense over there! The car was checked and any previous marks were clearly identified. We thought we had an issue on the 2nd day. A quick call to the office put our minds after rest. And an easy drop off at the end. The security hold on my card was returned within 24 hours. So happy we used sicily by car and we would definitely recommend them for car hire in Albania.
