I regret instructing Slater & Brandley to market my property. Despite providing them with professional photos upfront to save them time and speed up the process, they still failed to find me a suitable tenant.

One month into our agreement I was told there were no more viewings booked, no prospects in the pipeline, and no guarantee of a tenant any time soon. The applicants they did bring forward didn’t meet the basic requirements I had clearly set out (such as minimum household income of £40k, which is hardly unreasonable for two full-time workers, considering this is just below minimum wage). Despite my requirements, viewings were offered to unqualified prospects, in the hopes that I will perhaps change my mind.

After having my property vacant for a month, I had to instruct another agent, who secured a good tenant within two weeks. Slater & Brandley didn't even notice that my property was advertised with another agent with the same photos and a board outside the house, until I pointed it out to them weeks later. The new agent had one month less but still succeeded to find a suitable tenant.

Slater & Brandley charged me 70% of their fee for essentially posting some pictures (which I have provided) to Rightmove, all thanks to a clever clause in their engagement letter. I paid the price for trusting this company in good faith. I would not recommend them.

I have been renting from S&B since Sept 2018 (it’s now July 2025). This company has been THE best one to rent with. Any time I’ve had an issue at home - shower not working, heating not working, boiler is leaking…. They were there within a few hours. I recently had to have maintenance come visit to fix something, Emilian was fantastic. Fixed the issue and did so in a kind and friendly manner. I wouldn’t rent from any other company.

I would like to thank Emilian for fixing my leaking shower. His pleasant attitude, knowledge of what was required, speed of obtaining the new parts, and generally his overall professionalism was testament to his abilities. He did a great job and left the work area looking spotless. Thank you again Emilian.

Georgia was really helpful walking us through the process of setting up a viewing, putting down a holding deposit and getting us set up on the system.
Checks were simple and the platform was easy to navigate.

Be cautious of S&B they have a tendency to withhold some of the deposit citing silly damages, it happened to my wife before we got married. Be careful of them in that aspect.
