I love the different currency accounts. I live between the UK and Europe so having 2 accounts one in GBP and one in Euro makes it super convinient to pay in the right currency based on where I'm in that moment without having to deal with the fluctuation of the currency exchanges.

Mediocre.
Tried to set up an account for my business a few years ago (2020) but it was declined without explanation. I've had business accounts with other competitors (tide, monzo) at that time so it wasn't clear why starling declined my application.
Some times later I tried again but I decided to set up a personal account beforehand. Business account application got approved this time.
Both my accounts are still open but I have hardly used them. There were no savings accounts, no ISA, interest rates were nowhere near BoE base rate or any of the competition's.
Customer service is mixed, takes them good amount of time and several agents to understand a simple problem.

I got a Starling account years ago purely because the currrent account allowed spending in different currencies without fees, and I used to travel a lot. However absolutely everything else about them is great as well - the app works really well, the Spaces function is really helpful for the way my brain works (especially being able to pay bills from the Spaces), it's amazing being able to have a fee-free business account as a sole trader, and they are very responsive and helpful if you need help with something.

I was impressed by the response I received when I asked if the bank had any historical connection to the transatlantic slave trade.
The app and spaces for my daughter are excellent with a really easy to use interface.
Customer service whether in person or via messaging is always quick and reliable.

I was with Starling for 7 years and to be fair they were a fine, couldn't fault them.
Used it for day to day spending and had my savings in there too.
Then a few weeks ago they messaged me asking me for screen shots of items I had sold on eBay as they wanted to 'understand' how my account was being funded.
Despite thinking this was a little off and intrusive I complied and sent the information requested.
Last week I was notified that my account is being closed and have been given no reason as to why.
The sceptic in me thinks that maybe this is because I recently moved my savings from Starling to another bank who were offering a better interest rate but who knows?
Now they have sent me an email asking me to review them, this only a few days after closing my account so not sure what they are expecting really.

This is a great little bank for putting money into. I use this as a reserve account and pay savings money into. The app is easy to use . Easy to set up pockets/ spaces to meet savings targets to. Much better than a very well known high street bank I’ve had nothing but problems with since the death of my husband.

If an Apps not intuitive wot's the point, Starling cracked it, well done them. Bonus point, you don't have to using an annoying card reader. If it was a lager it would be better than the Danish one and if it was a song it would beat the UK eurovision entry (ok so any high street bank could do that but you get my drift)

Starling Bank blocked a completely normal, legitimate transaction without giving me any opportunity to verify it. The transaction was only completed after I contacted them via live chat – and even then, they had to remove security protection just so I could buy a lens from LCE Cameras.
If I hadn’t been able to reach them, the payment would have failed.
This is not how I want my money protected. I need to spend my own money when I need to – and I’m not prepared to hand over control of that to anyone else.
My complaint was not upheld. Starling claimed there was a “security concern,” but at no stage was I told what that concern actually was. It seems they can block you from spending your own money without needing a valid reason – or even explaining why.
For that reason, I’ve moved the bulk of my money to another bank that doesn’t play such games with its customers.
As you can see from the reply below, there is no attempt to resolve the issue or explain why a legitimate transaction was blocked, just "You need our permission to spend your own money because 'security'. If you don't like it, complain to the ombudsman".

Easy to use but also very secure, they give you confidence. If you need to speak to someone you will speak with an efficient friendly UK person. I have been with them for 6 years now, I have been with 3 other banks before but Starling are the best.

Starling have been my business bank since I started my business in 2018. They were great and really supportive through covid. They were amazing when our business were victims of an online scam and returned all the money that was stolen from us. Always great to be able to go on trips and not pay fees and the spaces feature has revolutionised our budgeting! Wouldn't go anywhere else for our business account!

Have had a business account with Starling since 2021 and love it's simplicity, ease of use and number of features.
Very reliable app and well thought out facilities within the app.
Not the easiest to open (as my son is in the process right now) as lot of information and checking to do so, but once operational wouldn't think of switching to anyone else.

Great bank great service awesome security and if I’ve ever got a problem, it’s dealt with immediately.
My favourite part of the app is the fact that I can create spaces for savings holidays taxes et cetera just makes managing my finances so much easier. I couldn’t rate Starling highly enough.
