I love everything about this bank. The spaces are great (I have ALOT) it helps me to organise my money. Loving the roundup option, which goes to my “treats” space. The bill section is handy as I can transfer the amount needed to cover all my bills for the month, and the DD can be set up to pay directly from that space. It’s a good app to navigate too. Ethically they are very good too, which was why I was drawn to it in the first place.

Starling Bank is, without doubt, the best bank I have been with. Superb in-person customer service (i.e., not talking to an AI-generated call router!).
The Starling app is superb, with excellent functionality and genuinely helps with effective financial management; so user-friendly.
In short, Starling has put a lot of time into making life easier for its customers, and it shows. Use Starling for both my business and personal banking.

Very responsive and intuitive app, savings jars and the ability to pay bills from them is excellent. Alerts are great and quick to appear. Being able to track and manage my son’s kite card is really useful.

Mixed feelings about Starling. Overall works okay but there are some challenges.
Recently they asked me to update my details on the two accounts that I have and I did so. Then less than 2 months later they want me to do one of them again. They want know what business you are in but their options are very limited and did not really cover ours. So we have to pick the nearest.
They also use categories where you can allocate outgoing payments to. It is a bit overkill because we use that on our accoutning program. They had a basic set of categories. I actually suggested that they allow customers to create their own. About a year later they upgraded the categories. Now t here are many more most of them not applicble. Just a waste really.
The banking side on the app works well. Don't have too many issues. I would recommend their app

I can’t recommend Starling Bank enough. I use its Spaces and virtual cards to stay in full control of my spending, allocating money into different categories throughout the month. It’s helped me become far more accountable with where my money is going, while also highlighting areas where I may need to cut back or spend more intentionally.
As a designer, I really appreciate how intuitive and easy the user experience is to navigate. I also love the feature where calls from Starling are verified within the app itself, something that feels especially valuable given the rise in scams and fraudulent activity today.

While I started as an enthusiastic customer, Starling’s recent performance has been underwhelming. I find that competitors like Tide (for business) and Revolut (for personal use) now offer a much better banking experience. I am providing this review at the bank's persistent request, though my current preference lies elsewhere.

Terrible they write to me and take my overdraft off me without asking if I need it, admittedly they reimburse my interest from over the years but now I think they have also done something wrong.

I have found the banking app very instructive and informative especially quick when spending on your card. Used in Australia & Tasmania for holiday period and was very good. I also opened up a savings bond for 12 months which was a good rate at the time. Easy to use on a daily basis.

I love my Starling bank account, with the app you can easily move money about from saving pots to current account should you need it and keep funds in different areas so you know what you have to spend. If I’ve ever been concerned about a transaction that I didn't recognise their staff have been very helpful and their checks when I was moving larger than usual amount of money alerted me to a scammer who was pretending to be my son which saved me from a lot of heartache and embarrassment for almost falling for it. Eternally grateful for that.
Online statements are also a bonus.
