Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 59 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complained about terrible service, prolonged internet outages, and a complete lack of urgency from support teams. Reviewers expressed intense frustration over endless technical problems that remained unresolved despite numerous calls and logged support tickets. However, some customers also noted unexpected billing charges, unfair contract penalties, and issues with receiving proper refunds. Consumers struggled to reach anyone on the phone because calls constantly went unanswered or automated systems abruptly disconnected them. People felt completely ignored as communication channels failed and support tickets were closed without providing any real solutions.

The worst

The worst. I pay for 30mbps up and down, and get 2mbps. I have been phoning and lodging tickets for the past months, and received no help.

They are the worst.

I have video evidence of my TV buffering and yo cannot even listen to my internet radio!

@SupersonicZA Worst service provider ever

@SupersonicZA My experience with Supersonic has been extremely frustrating. From the beginning, there have been ongoing issues with service delivery, communication, and account management.

My fibre installation was delayed, and when issues started with billing and payments, I received very little support or urgency in resolving the matter. Despite payments being made, my service was still affected, leaving me without the reliable connection I am paying for.

The biggest disappointment has been the lack of communication and accountability. As a customer, I should not have to repeatedly follow up and fight for a service that I am paying for.

I expected better service, clearer communication, and a company that takes responsibility when problems occur. Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite.

Supersonic is the absolute worst

Supersonic is the absolute worst when it comes to service on the whole. I signed up initially for an entry level package and suffered poor speeds and thought it best to do an upgrade, I upgraded to the fastest line they have to offer and my effing goodness, the speeds are exactly the same - their 20/10 line and 500/250 line delivers the most inconsistent kak speeds imaginable. There is more downtime than uptime and when there is connectivity, you enjoy speeds of up to 30mbps (paying R1500 for 500mbps doesn't mean a thing) I have logged numerous tickets, chatted to some nonchalant seemingly brain dead support agent on WhatsApp who replies to 2 messages then ignores you for the rest of the day and doesn't even have the decency to end the chat. I have been able to acquire several email addresses to management, support staff and even one of the directors, you'd think sending several emails to this bunch of *people* would at least see some sort of action, but I guess they're just as rotten as the rest of the sloths working at Supersonic. I would 100% recommend that nobody ever signs up with Supersonic. You will waste so much time and money and probably your job if its dependant on you having a stable internet connection, never mind if you're responsible for other people having a stable internet connection. Please do not sign up with Supersonic.

Sustandard Service & Fibre Line

Our fibre line was "connected" mid May without any technician doing the actual installation. The router arrived via courier and we were told telephonically to connect the wires. Once completed we had fibre but the line is faulty as we cannot even open a webpage let alone stream a movie. It is a 35/35Meg line. Our 4G Router which we did not cancel is working perfectly and without any glitches. We submitted a ticket and were told to connect a laptop to the Route unit and run test of which we had to email Supersoning the test results. Really? So they summarily closed the ticket without resolving the issue. Pathetic

Just close your company because clearly…

Just close your company because clearly you don't care about your customers the only thing that you care about is deducting money while providing BAD SERVICE. I'm so disappointed with the service and all their agents are not helpful. They will ask you same stupid questions for verification and put you on hold for God knows how long. I reported that I don't have connection connection for a week now and it's really frustrating because I need to wifi to do my work so I was forced to buy airtime to calm them and so buy data to work, it's really annoying to pay for something that is not working. I've been an MTN customer for many years but the service that I have received from SUPERSONIC IS PATHETIC

WORSE customer service EVER - from Supersonic Fibre!!!

I requested a Fibre connection from Supersonic via Vumatel. Although their ads show "Free Connection" I was requested to pay an amount of R439 upfront before I could continue with the order. Once I made the payment, I received an email to confirm that the service was active. However, no installation was done. Then, to add insult to injury, I was then billed my 1st account (which is due 1st of May!!!) for a service I never HAD installed! What nonsense is that? 😡😤

I've logged ticket after ticket to get this sorted and decided that to the pathetic customer service, I'd rather cancel the Supersonic order & stay with my current ISP (the service there is also bad, not as bad as Supersonic, though). They must refund the money I paid & cancel the invoice.

I've never been a victim of a company's misleading advertisements (no upfront payment for installation & activation, yet I had to pay the amount of R439 before I could receive service), and the after-sales customer service is the worse I've had...EVER!!!

What a pathetic excuse for ISP service! I would NEVER recommend this company as an ISP.

They've lost a customer before I even got my service...and I hope others do not fall into the same trap as I did.

I signed up for MTMisleading “Month‑to‑Month” Fibre & Unfair Cancellation Fee – Poor Dispute HandlingN Fibre powered by…

I signed up for MTN Fibre powered by Supersonic in November 2025 after being marketed a month‑to‑month fibre service. At no point during signup, onboarding, or activation was I informed that my service carried a 12‑month cancellation penalty or an R899 “clawback” fee.
Throughout the entire application and activation process, I was repeatedly directed to generic Terms & Conditions and told simply to “refer to T&Cs.” I was never advised that my service fell under a separate FTTH contract with materially different cancellation rules, nor were any early termination fees brought to my attention.
When I cancelled the service in April 2026 due to changed personal circumstances, Supersonic advised that I would be charged an R899 cancellation fee for not staying longer than 12 months. This was the first time I had ever heard of such a fee.
I formally disputed the charge in writing, clearly explaining that:

the fee was never disclosed upfront,
the service was marketed and understood as month‑to‑month,
no FTTH‑specific cancellation penalties were ever highlighted or explained, and
enforcing an undisclosed penalty is unfair and misleading.

Instead of addressing the dispute, Supersonic:

closed multiple support tickets without responding,
provided no substantive written explanation, and
issued an invoice for the disputed charge anyway, despite the matter being under formal dispute.

This experience reflects poor transparency, inadequate disclosure, and disappointing complaint handling. Consumers should not be expected to discover hidden penalty clauses after the fact, especially on services advertised as month‑to‑month.

I would caution prospective customers to explicitly ask about cancellation penalties in writing before signing up, as they are not clearly disclosed during the signup or activation process. But I'm not going to let it go. I'm escalating this with ISPA and National Consumer Commission.

Supersonic increased the monthly…

Supersonic increased the monthly payments without notice and switch my service off, I paid the outstanding amount on the 15th of April and tonight they switched my service off because I'm a month's payment behind, but on the 15th I were paid up to date, switching off when there is no one in office to assist. BIG back stabbers, maybe better to use other services

My Supersonic / MTN AirFibre service…

My Supersonic / MTN AirFibre service has been down for a week with no resolution.
The PoE injector has power, but the outdoor Tarana unit has no lights at all after heavy rain.
I logged a fault, received a call confirming a technician visit, but no one arrived. The ticket has now been CLOSED without the issue being fixed.
I work from home and have been forced to use my own mobile data while still paying for a service that is not working.
This is unacceptable. I need this issue escalated urgently, a technician sent out, and my service restored immediately.

Horrible Technical Support

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with Supersonic.
I joined them just 2 months ago, and to be fair, the installation was seamless and everything was working perfectly. But that’s where the good experience ends.
Two days ago, my router suddenly stopped working. No warning, no explanation — just dead. This alone speaks volumes about the quality of equipment Supersonic provides to paying customers — clearly not built to last.
I immediately reported the issue, expecting urgency considering this is an essential service. Instead, I’ve been given nothing but the runaround. Every interaction leads to the same useless response: “please wait.”
Wait for what exactly?
I rely on my internet connection for work, which means this is not just an inconvenience — it is actively costing me money. And yet, there seems to be absolutely no sense of urgency or accountability from Supersonic’s side. No updates, no follow-ups, no solutions.
What makes it even worse is that when the equipment fails, you’re left to deal with the consequences on your own. There is no urgency, no care, and certainly no customer support worth mentioning.
What’s even more frustrating is how quick they are to expect full and on-time payment from their customers, but when it comes to delivering the service you’re paying for? Silence.
All I need is a simple resolution: a replacement router delivered ASAP so I can get back to work. It’s not complicated. But getting any kind of assistance or communication from Supersonic feels impossible.
At this point, I am beyond fed up with this level of service. If you’re considering joining Supersonic, just be aware — everything is great until something goes wrong. Then you’re completely on your own.
Absolutely unacceptable.

If i could give zero stars i would give…

If i could give zero stars i would give minus 5.

Dear Supersonic,

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the complete failure of my internet service and the unacceptable billing associated with it.

To provide full context: my service was scheduled and activated in mid-February, as I arranged this in advance before moving into my apartment at the end of February to ensure I would have internet upon arrival. Despite this, when I moved in, I did not receive any working Wi-Fi linked to my account.

The only internet access available at the time was from the previous tenant’s connection, which was still active. This means that from the outset, I was billed for a service that was never actually provided to me.

Since the 24th of March, the situation has worsened further, and my internet has been completely shut down. From that date until now, I have had absolutely no service whatsoever.

For the past three weeks, I have contacted your support team every single day—often three to four times per day—only to be repeatedly told that “the matter has been escalated.” This has become an empty statement with no action behind it.

On every call, I am promised that a supervisor or senior technician will contact me. Not once has this happened. Not a single callback has been received.

Despite the total lack of service, I have been billed twice. Let me be absolutely clear: I have paid for a service that I have not received at all.

I have also gone out of my way to contact OpenServe myself—something that is entirely your responsibility—not mine. OpenServe has not confirmed any fault on their side and has instead directed responsibility back to Supersonic. This ongoing finger-pointing, with no accountability or resolution, is completely unacceptable.

I have even escalated the matter internally with one of your technical advisors, Jacob, who was expected to provide a higher level of support. Unfortunately, this interaction resulted in no progress whatsoever.

At this point, my patience is exhausted. What I have experienced is not “downtime”—it is a complete failure of service delivery. There has been no service. None.

I have already requested cancellation of my account, and I will now state my position clearly:

You are required to take one of the following actions immediately:

Cancel my account in full and refund me for the entire period I have been billed without receiving any service; OR

Resolve the issue and restore my internet service without any further delay.

If neither of these actions is taken promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter further through the appropriate consumer protection channels.

I expect urgent action and a definitive resolution—no more empty promises, no more escalations without outcomes.

Regards,David de Klerk

Holding my fibre line hostage without a valid order

CANCELLATIONS: 7 days in. Been phoning every day. They took over my fibre line - activated 5 March yet I cancelled the order 15 Feb. They have no active, valid orders in place but can't get them to cancel on their side/ release my line and provide proof. Logged tickets that were apparently escalated. Yet nothing has been done

Supersonice has the worst customer…

Supersonice has the worst customer service , they have a bot chatting to you on WhatsApp referring you to their website where you dont even see much information on the dashboard.

Upon applying for the order I checked coverage in my area after a couple of days I called their call center I was advised then only that there is no coverage in my area. I had to call eversince then there was no communication from them.

I canceled the order on my end and obviously thought they'd cancel the order on their end because we can't proceed with the service. I have sent 2 emails, logged a ticket and multiple phone calls later. Not really getting help from them this order still shows pending on their side.

There is absolutely no customer service here. Seems like whoever is in charge of each process does not see their processes through. Plainly not doing their job. This was my first encounter with Supersonic and definitely my last.

The ticket I logged is the same ticket number the lady gave me whilst she said she is logging a call. Its just so astonishing. I am in customer service type of job and this? Is really bad for their business.

I do not recommend anyone to make use of their services

This is the worst service ever!

This is the worst service ever! I cannot begin to express how frustrating it is dealing with them. I have gone 4 days with no internet connection. I logged a ticket which they responded to by “resolved” I have tried calls, emails etc.
if I could prevent each and every prospective client from using their service, I would make it my life’s work to do so. I doubt if this company services will ever improve.

They are simply the Worst! I understand each and every negative review I have read about them. Too late I read these late💔.

Supersonic & MTN: Worst ISP in Africa

In December 2025 I noted even though I only have a 100MB line, I get charged for a 500MB line. On the 17 December 2025 I opened the ticket. After many times calling the call centre I received a call back on the 6 Jan 2026 that they need to refund me and I must send them a proof of bank details. Which I did. The end of Janaury I was billed again for a 500MB line. I was told this will happen, but after 25 working days I will be refunded. Till today I have yeat to receive the money. The ticket was closed stating I am getting 500MB speed. I have provided Supersonic with numerous photos of line speed tests. They are truelly the worst ISP in Africa. Their call centre is just a way to block you from speaking to the people who really makes the decisions and dont care about the customer. I have logged one final ticket to them and then if I dont get this resolved I am going to go to ICASA. Dont ever support MTN or Supersonic.

Pathetic Service Delivery - MTN/ Supersonic

Pathetic service delivery from the supersonic team. No sense of urgency to their customers despite the number of calls or tickets pleading for urgent resolution. I was supplied a new ZTE router which stopped working . I had to trouble shoot for the team & advise them the router isnt working. All efforts to get my spare to be linked & have me atleast back online is falling on "deaf ear". Disappointed long time MTN customer
