Pathetic service delivery from the supersonic team. No sense of urgency to their customers despite the number of calls or tickets pleading for urgent resolution. I was supplied a new ZTE router which... See more

I ordered Supersonic Fiber over a month…
I ordered Supersonic Fiber over a month ago, and I’m really disappointed. They charged me for a service that I haven’t even used because the installation hasn’t happened yet. I’ve tried reaching out, but there’s no manager or supervisor available to talk to me. It feels really frustrating to feel stuck in this situation with no one to help. I just wanted to get my internet set up, but so far, it’s been a hassle. I hope they can figure out their
Pathetic service
Pathetic service
If I could give them zero stars it would be more accurate. Changed my service with no notification, claiming they sent out e-mails in December, but all I received was my invoice. No internet because they didn't allocate data to me, promises to have the issue resolved, but after 2 calls and 3 tickets, still no internet. When you relocate, you have to change your address with them at least 3 times before they get it right. I'm definitely changing to a different service provider
No option for relocation service.
Extremely unprofessional. If you get wifi and have to relocate within a year's time they will charge you R800.00 for cancelling instead of offering you a fee to install wifi on the new premises.
My company will never support these people again.
I advise everyone to stay away.
Paying Since December With No Internet…
Paying Since December With No Internet – Still Not Connected
I moved to a different unit in the same building and requested my internet to be reconnected in the first week of December 2025. Today is the 21st of January, 2026, almost 2 months later, I am still without service.
Since December, I have endured endless calls, repeated promises of installation dates, and constant reassurances - none of which have been honoured. Despite this, billing has continued for a service I am not receiving.
Receiving a generic “welcome” message quoting a 7–10 working day (sent on the 12th of January, marking this the 8th day ) installation timeline is unacceptable when this issue has been ongoing for at least 2 months.
This is poor service delivery and a complete lack of accountability.
I am requesting:
A confirmed connection date
I am posting this publicly in the hope that it finally receives the attention it should have received long ago.
“Unfair Billing, Unauthorised Account Activity, and Poor Customer Support
I was on a month-to-month Supersonic (via MTN) fibre service on the Vumatel network. The package was R299 for the first two months and R499 thereafter.
My account was suspended and later reactivated without my consent, and was ultimately terminated by Supersonic, not by me. Despite this, Supersonic later demanded R2 900, which includes multiple months of subscription charges after service suspension, contrary to month-to-month contract principles and the Consumer Protection Act.
A Vumatel clawback of R899 (for the router) was added. When I requested a full, itemised breakdown of the charges, Supersonic only sent screenshots showing a total balance, instead of providing a proper billing statement detailing dates, services, and individual charges. This is not transparent billing.
Customer support has been unresponsive and ineffective. WhatsApp agents stop replying mid-conversation, provide inconsistent explanations, and fail to resolve formal disputes. Repeated attempts to settle the account reasonably were ignored.
This experience demonstrates unfair billing practices, poor transparency, and disregard for consumer rights. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Supersonic.
Worse than bad service, it’s non existent service
Im a supersonic client. I logged a call about WiFi not reaching rooms in my house. I followed up twice on the ticket and phoned 5 times only to be told that is not a service they offer! An absolute waste of time and money, avoid at all costs.
Would give 0 stars if I could
Would give 0 stars if I could. 4 days without internet. Logged 3 support tickets - no response. Unable to get through on phone as every time you enter your ID number it says it does not exist and cuts you off. Logged in to my account dashboard and says everything is fine. It is not. There seems no way to resolve this. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS APPALLING!
I would love to give Ngele his flowers.
I would love to give Ngele his flowers.
He took ownership of the interactions from start to finish where other agent could have easily dismissed me.
Thank you for taking the initiative to keep me connected!
I would leave zero star if I could
I would leave zero star if I could. The most horrific experience I have ever encountered. We have have had no internet connectivity for a week due to a billing error. Our service was cut off last week and despite having emailed and called every available channel, our ticket keeps getting closed with no resolution. We have emailed proof of payment dozens of times with zero acknowledgement and both my mobile number and my husband's number have been blockedso there is no way of following up with them. It is basically theft to take someone's money and not provide a service. In addition, my husband and I both work from home and this has had a severe impact on us both this past week. We cannot even cancel despite submitting a cancellation letter, no acknowledgement at all. When approaching a new service provider, we've been informed that MTN have to release the line before they can migrate us to their service. How do we do that when we cannot get any response from MTN Supersonic??
No star at all
No star at all. Their service is horrible. Canceling your contract with them is absolutely more horrible. I hate supersonic with great passion I won't even recommend it to my worst enemy
I would like to say thank you thandeka…
I would like to say thank you thandeka dlamini for helping us get connected for days we've been speaking to different agents but they couldn't help us nor understand us but thandeka made our day and we even planned to cancel supersonic but thanks to her we are not cancelling she is very smart and patient..great service thandeka!!
Shame on MTN for Supersonic! MTN - the apparent leading cellular provider in Africa, hiding behind the Supersonic screen of pathetic service delivery.
I've been with MTN for way over a decade and trusted them - therefore, when I was redirected to Supersonic via the MTN website, I stupidly ignored all the bad reviews and still went with them.
* JULY '25:
I applied, and in less than a week I was set-up and ready to go. I set my debit order date for the 8th of each month, and wondered what the fuss about Supersonic was all about.
They didn't bill me for anything this month.
* AUGUST '25:
They invoiced me for July + Aug, and stated that the amount needed to be paid by the 15th, even though I'd opted for the 8th as my payment date.
Before the 8th I went to my Supersonic dashboard, only to notice that it stated my account was in arrears, and provided a link for an instant payment.
I was confused - it wasn't the 8th yet, nor the 15th, so I followed the link in utter confusion, and paid them nonetheless.
The next day I realised that even though I had already manually paid them, they had still debited me too.
I emailed them to request that they return one of the payments - I included each and every single email address I could find online connected to Supersonic and MTN, but no logical response (if any) was forthcoming.
Eventually I got hold of someone on the phone, only to be told that they won't refund me, but I would be credited for the additional amount the following month.
And no, there was no apology, only some convoluted attempt at a justification. I wasn't happy, but needless to say - I couldn't really do anything about it.
Another significant issue with this particular month's invoice was the pro rata rate.
They stated that the service for July (the first month) was pro rata (@R289 [for the first 3 months] per month: 8th-31st July is R216.75), but they billed me for the random amount of R331.26.
* SEPTEMBER '25:
I was once again invoiced for the full amount, but they only debited me for some random amount that made no sense in regards to the math.
When I tried to question why I receive invoices each month, but never any statements indicating the payments I'd made - I was obviously met with silence again.
BY LAW, WE'RE ENTITLED TO A STATEMENT THAT INDICATES THE PAYMENTS WE'VE MADE.
By this stage, I'd had enough of their pathetic service - not to mention the various glitches I'd encountered with the connection that was regularly down, so I gave them a month's notice and told them to fetch their equipment.
Besides their pathetic 'sad to see you go' emails, I received another one stating that I'd be charged a clawback fee of R899.
Apparently I clicked on a T&Cs option saying that if I cancelled within a year, I'd pay this amount - I'm still waiting for a time-stamped link to those T&Cs.
When I requested a time-stamped link to it, they emailed me random screenshots of their T&Cs, but no actual proof that what they were saying was true.
I was also informed that I'd need to contact someone to make arrangements to return their router, or be charged R250 to have it couriered back. If not, apparently I'll be charged for the router as well.
But guess what... nobody is willing to tell me how much.
** FIRSTLY, where's my copy of this 'contract'?
I never received a copy of the T&Cs I had to click on during the registration process.
BY LAW - FOR A CONTRACT (INCL. T&Cs) TO BE VALID, BOTH PARTIES MUST HAVE A COPY OF IT.
Yes, T&Cs do count as a contract, but is worded in a way to protect the service provider, not the client.
It's also easier for them to secretly update the T&Cs at their whim.
** Secondly - I cancelled because of poor service delivery, so I queried via email why I'm being charged a cancellation clawback - only to be ignored again... of course.
** And thirdly - why do I need to post their router anywhere? They had local staff who came to rig up the system, so why can't I drop it off locally at their offices?
* OCTOBER '25:
I disconnected their equipment and waited for them to come pick it all up - as I'd repeatedly informed them to do in writing.
They informed me (surprise, surprise) that their prices had increased, and they debited me the new amount for another month.
* NOVEMBER '25:
They debited the R899 clawback fee (which strangely enough had VAT added to the amount... makes you wonder, right?
A 'clawback' isn't a service or a product - it's a penalty, so why the VAT?).
Even though I had previously made various queries in regards to this fiasco, each of them had been labelled 'closed' without anyone actually responding to me.
I have since emailed them numerous times asking them where I can drop their equipment off locally - I'm still waiting for their reply.
DON'T USE THIS COMPANY, AND IF YOU'RE A REGULAR MTN USER (LIKE I WAS), CONSIDER CHANGING PROVIDERS.
DON'T TRUST THE MTN SNAKE HEAD.
If they allow their subsidiaries to operate in grey areas, then they obviously do too.
They don't even deserve the 1 star I was forced to provide just to write this review.
Absolutely Unacceptable Service – 9 Days Without Internet!
I have had the most appalling experience with Supersonic’s fibre-to-the-home service. My internet has been down for over 8 days, and despite logging multiple service requests and calling in every single day, I have received zero updates or feedback.
I spoke to several representatives, including Nelson, Thandeka, a supervisor named Tshepo, and a call centre agent Nelisiwe—yet after 9 days, my issue remains unresolved. The level of incompetence and lack of urgency is shocking.
To make matters worse, every time I call, I wait over 30 minutes just to speak to someone, only to be told they’ll “escalate” the issue. Nothing happens. No follow-up, no communication, no resolution.
This is disgusting customer service and completely unacceptable for a company providing essential connectivity. Supersonic has failed on every level—technical support, communication, and customer care.
Avoid Supersonic at all costs if you value reliability and service!
Horrible service
Horrible service. Rude consultants. Full of mistakes and no accountability
Bad routers, bad customer service
Had to turn router off and back on so many times just to connect a device. Internet connection is also unreliable, often lost unexpectedly. Customer service via call is totally useless. Had to pay an extra month because they don't allow cancellation within 1 calendar month.
I canceled my account with supersonic…
I canceled my account with supersonic but they taking me to the lawyers which I find very odd. I called to cancel my account with them served a notice and eventually it was cancelled.
Worst Service I have ever received
Worst Service I have ever received. I spoke to Mogale, and he was extremely rude. He should not be working in a customer-facing role. As for Supersonic, my fibre is still offline with no help whatsoever.
This is the most disgusting service…
This is the most disgusting service provider ever. Lack of service isn't the word. Staff are friendly but are of no use whatsoever. They are merely randoms that answer the phones to tell you you will have to wait 48 to 72 hours for technical support. Don't get this useless service. Rather cut them out and go directly to MTN. If I could this company minus stars they would have minus a billion stars. Terrible business with no service
I ASKED FOR MORE INFORMATION ON A…
I ASKED FOR MORE INFORMATION ON A PACKAGE AND I GOT THE REPLY AN EMAIL WILL BE SENT TO ME AND AN AGENT WILL CONTACT ME FOR ADDITIONAL ARRANGEMENTS. I DID NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL (NOW 20 MINUTES LATER) i tried to call client services but ringing without anyone answering. No way to start a trusting relationship!!!
Billing problem
I have been using 2 weeks & 4 days different billing they send me on my email i try to call them they don't even answer the call also they don't even response on my email like ignoring
