Did not process payment

My bank sent a payment on 1/26; the check arrived on 1/30 and payment was due on 2/3. Since it’s the first time paying the company, my bank sent a paper check instead of electronic transfer. It has been three business days since the check was received and SCF still has not posted it to my account. My best assumption is the people who work there are incompetent and they are trying to make people pay late fees based on their own incompetence. Suggest getting a loan anywhere else!

Forced loan to contractors for work undone

I hired a company NRG Remodeling to do work,I informed Service Finance Company per contract the work is not done,on multiple occasions and was told to not release the money until contract are finished and they said ok,we have that complaint of file and contact them when work is finished, we'll I received a payment from svcfin. I called and they said they forced the loan through without my signature, now the company is not communicating with me. And the work is not done. Technically it's my money on hold to pay them, now you want me to pay you for work they didn't finish.

This company is horrible

This company is horrible! I have attempted to pay off this account 3x. Got a payoff amount in November, company would not accept electronic payment, we to the bank to have them directly send payoff, Service would not accept that either. We mailed the certified check, signature required return slip. It arrived the next day according to my postal receipt. It sat on someones desk for a week before it was applied to our account. Got a new statement in December saying we still owed $3000 more. Paid that off. So now January, I get a new statement for $30.40 as a balance. Where did that come from since I already paid the account off twice. The person at Service Finance said "I can take your payment now over the phone" NO WAY! I'm reporting them to BBB. Bad and unfair business practices

This company is horrible

This company is horrible. Avoid borrowing from them. The dealerships that work with them are as complacent as. I used them twice within a few months with an approved promotion of 12 months, only to realize that the promotional period was turned to only 3 months. They also claimed on the phone that the interest was 7.9% when in fact it’s over 20%. They’re a big scam. I can’t wait to be done with them for good.

Slow, unresponsive, incommunicative, bureaucratic

I have had a terrible experience working with this company.
I have been trying for over a month to get two tasks completed with them (partial release and subordination of the loan) and they absolutely refuse to take phone calls anywhere beyond their customer service branch. There is nearly $500,000 in equity tied up because I can't get them to answer a phone call. Instead we end up going back and forth endlessly through emails and they take their time responding to emails so every process ends up dragging on seemingly forever. Yes, the loan I got through them was at a great rate but if I knew then what I know now (regarding how difficult this organization would be to work with) I never would have agreed to work with them.
I caution all who read this to enter into agreement with this company at your own risk because you will not be able to do anything other than payoff your loan.

No loan access for 2+ weeks, conflicting info, failures to follow up and adhere to their timelines

We originated a loan with this company on 12/16. When it was originated, we weren't given access to the account. We didn't receive any information about our account until around 12/20, and even then, the access to the account wasn't created, which i verified by trying to look up the loan information. When agreed to get the loan, we were planning on paying it off in full when we got some inheritance, but weren't sure when it would hit. We got it shortly before the loan originated, so thought we could pay it off and avoid most, if not all, interest.

So when we got access to the account, we were a little annoyed to see $136 already charged in interest. We knew they would charge interest from origination, but them not allowing us to access our loan seemed shady and immoral. So I called and asked if that interest could be waived due to them not providing said access. I was told they might be able to, and to pay off the principal and see what would happen. Given a 24-48 hour timeframe. So I made a payment for the principal. Then 2 more days of interest hit after paying off the principal... umm, ok? Then after 48 hours I called them. Was told it's still under review. So I called the next day. They said the request was just put in the day prior, which I corrected. Then no response until I called them the following day. This is when they told me the max they could waive was $50. At no time prior to this was this expressed. If it had been, I would have paid more. So as it stands, I paid $146 in interest, hopefully will have $50 waived (not keeping my hopes up as this has been shady and I've been given conflicting information multiple times), so will be paying nearly $100 for the luxury of paying them $40k.

TL;DR, they don't provide access to your account for nearly 3 weeks, while charging you interest, then when you call them, they have no idea what is going on, will give you conflicting info, and fail to stick to timelines they provide while failing to follow up repeatedly.

Will not be financing with this company again for any other home improvement projects.

UPDATE:
Nothing happened after 2 days of waiting, so called back. They do NOT waive interest, only fees. So I'm on the hook for interest still. These people are crooks, incompetent and the entire process has been an embarrassment.

Their payment system is very faulty.

They payment system is very faulty. They do not allow "unscheduled payments". When I make an additional payment along with the regular payment. They apply all the regular payment to interest, and the extra payment to the principal! Whereas, some of the regular payment should have been applied to principal also. Also, I was told that they charge interest daily.

Whenever, I try to make an extra payment online, after making my regular payment, the computer do not allow me to. I believe the computer is fixed not to allow extra payment. Also, the back of the statement reads that "unscheduled payments" is not allowed. I think this is loan sharking to get customers to payment additional interest. I will be paying this loan off and closing this account.

Dawn Ruchman was excellent in customer service today. She was very patient, understanding and helpful in assisting me to get my payoff payment in under promo period which expires tomorrow, 11/30. "Promo" period expiring reverts to original full price + interest @13.99%, so it's alot!! Thank you, Dawn!

Very shady business practices

Very shady business practices. I had no choice but to use them to pay for an emergency plumbing repair where sewage was backing into my house. I was told I would have no interest, but interest was on the first bill anyway. They would not email me any information for the first month, but would call, which went to my spam call screening. Their site would not let me make a payment, saying I could not make a payment on a holiday, even though I was not scheduling it on a holiday (it said that for every day). I dont trust this company at all.

Not happy!

Not happy!! Pay more than my payment amount every month and yet interest keeps going up???? And what the heck is per diem??That was never mentioned in the contract. Also if you read the contract as I just did it says 9.99 percent per year. These people have no clue. Closing account asap. NEVER AGAIN!! Feel like I’m getting ripped off and they don’t care! Even the reps can’t answer my questions.

I financed a home improvement through…

I financed a home improvement through Service Financial Company LLC with a 14 month no payment/no interest promotion. When the promotion period was over I made full/timely payments for six months the paid the loan in full. They reported to the credit bureau that the account was considered adverse and had been settled not paid in full and tanked my credit rating. They refuse to correct the issue after multiple disputes being filed with the credit bureau.

This company is awful!

This company is awful. We paid off our loan through our Heloc, they were actually overpaid and since May of 2025 we have been due a refund of $367. I have been constantly on the phone with this company. They advised a couple of weeks ago that the check was mailed September 9, 2025. Today is the 24th and it still has not been received and the reason for this review.

Don't sign with this place

Constant, daily phone calls, even though we make every payment with more than the set monthly payment. They send statements after the due date and then send messages about " grace period" Refuse to speak with me as my husband's name is on the loan...I take care of all monthly bills

My initial encounter with Service Finance Company

My initial encounter with Service Finance Company was not great. I registered with the company on its website and proceeded through the form provided to enable direct withdrawal from my checking account to sec. Inexplicably, the program would not complete my application because it claimed I was starting payments on ineligible dates, ie weekends, holidays, etc. None of this was true. I entered multiple dates that satisfied the criteria. I call tech support and got Dawn Tuchman. She guided me through various options, which did not work, and finally forwarded a form to allow me to file a paper application. She also forwarded my issue to IT, who were completely useless, asking what site I was on (!), asking me for the date stamp on the screen shot I took of the blocked e-form demonstrating that it would not complete the application, and offered no help. Dawn then got back to me the next day with some helpful advice. I tried the e-application again for planning monthly withdrawals from my bank account, and it went through. Dawn was helpful, she stayed with me for 24 hours and continued to offer support until the problem was fixed. I fault SVC for a glitchy website and for the lack of any IT help. I praise SVC for offering a variety of options for repaying loans, which ultimately worked out well for my family. And Dawn was very, very good. I was not just a frustrated customer, I was someone whose problem she intended to fix so that I would be happy and so that her company would get its loan repaid efficiently and glitch free.
