Service Finance made a loan of $6355…

Service Finance made a loan of $6355 for an AC installed by ECM. It was to be paid off within 2 years with no interest. I paid it in full within 3 months, yet they keep billing me--I called many times--I informed them that my bank cashed they checks, as per my bank statements. After multiple calls, always unsucessful, I called Truist, who owns Service Finance. They connected with Service Finance and agreed it was all paid except for 59 cents (which I did send them, 2 quaarters and a dime, but I resent a check for 59 cents anyway. They are STILL billing me for various amounts of money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

I can't make a payment

I can't make a payment; interest starts day one. like most places. You can't setup an account to pay until they decide to set you up. The contractor uses this service. Not Better Business Bureau accredited.

Stay away If a contractor suggests they use them.
DO NOT USE THEM!

If you can choose to work with a…

If you can choose to work with a different company I would. Their customer service is deeply lacking and gives off reading from a script and not able to creatively think about a problem and when I asked to talk to a manager “none could be found.”
My biggest complaint is that they take zero responsibility for mistakes on their end. There was a mishap with their online automatic payment system which we tried to remedy with multiple calls and was told many different ways to fix the problem, the first payment wasn’t taken out on time and they put a lean on our house. No matter the fact that every payment worked after and we made multiple attempts to talk to a manager about the problem we were read a script about the first missed payment (their fault) and told to pay it off in full and they would lift the lean.
Never working with them again.

I would not recommend this company to anyone

I would not recommend this company to anyone. They refused to change a due date to when a social security check arrives. Which then causes our payment to be late every single month. They continually have an automated system that calls you to let you know it is late. They will not work with you at all.

Her name is Dawn Tuchman. She is a great rep for the company. She was a very polite and knowledgeabe

The worst company I have ever dealt…

The worst company I have ever dealt with.

Pay all your bills with certified mail checks.

Online payments are cashed but not applied and check payments are cashed but not applied.

Do not have access to their portal, repeatedly, for an overview of my account.

Every month for 2 years I send them a check. They don’t apply it to the account and delay cashing it. They then claim it is late and they are owed backed fees.

They then report to the credit bureau. They dropped my credit score from 850 to 696 while I’m literally paying it on time! I had good credit, I have enough $. I just didn’t have 10k sitting around for a home improvement project.

If you do pay extra to try to fix it they don’t apply it and another month starts of them refusing to properly process payments.

I have called multiple times and get a third party call center overseas. They refuse to give me any information, let me speak to a manager, or correctly apply anything.

I don’t have enough money to take them to court for damages but now I’m scrambling to pay off the loan early because they are such a shady company,

If you need something financed put it on a credit card.

Clear delineation of terms. Quick response, too. We can keep our money in an interest-earning situation longer with this construction loan. Very pleased. Dawn was a pleasure to work with.

Loss May Cause Forgetfulness

Kenia was truly awesome! She was patient, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful!
I loss my Dad on July 2nd. Although I was adamant I had made my monthly payment, Kenya allowed me the time to research my records.
Lo and behold, I had NOT made the payment so it was, in fact due.
Everything Kenia did was in an effort to help me honor the payment without guilt or shame!
My family and I are truly grateful for Kenia!
Kudos. Service Finance, you've got a good one! 😉

Predatory lender / Illegal activity / STAY AWAY

We were originally quoted an interest rate lower than what we actually wound up paying, like many others. We were lucky, it was only a 2% bump for us. The loan originated 2yrs ago for a furnace replacement. When I inquired about the interest rate discrepancy, they told me the person I worked with was wrong and that they failed to notify me of the correct interest rate upon signing. My contract is basically useless as they stated it was incorrect and that "the one they signed was correct", though they cannot produce it for me.

When I would schedule payments 3 weeks prior to due date, they didn't apply it to my bill amount. Instead, they applied it to principal and then charged me late fees for not paying my bill on time. I spoke with customer service and they said you have to choose the bill to make sure it's paid - but you have only a 2 week window within each month to do this in. They refused to refund any late fees (it happened 3 months in a row before I finally got someone to answer why it was occurring).

This company is predatory and running flat out illegal operations with the hope no one will hire an attorney. They are right, it would cost more to fight than to just get a new loan someplace reputable and to pay this one off, which is what we're doing (and many others have from the reviews I've read).

They've even been removed from BBB, which indicates to me that their score was low enough they'd prefer not to be on there at all.

I've learned a valuable lesson, I will make sure to check who the lender the folks I'm working with are using and, if it's Service Financial, I will go elsewhere. Any company that is aware of their behavior and continues to work with them doesn't deserve my business any more than the lender does, imo.

Either way, I will have this paid off in a months time and will be much more careful moving forward. I was simply waiting for the interest rates to come down to where this one landed - which I'll wind up saving only .5% on the new loan, but at least it won't be MORE.

Florida Office of Financial regulation and Consumer protection bureau

I would like to file a complaint with above finance company. I purchased a Tub and new tile from Leaf Bath in May of 2025. I was quoted a price of $17.000 plus. Leaf Bath put the loan through Service Finance out of Boca Raton, FL. Previous to the work being done, I was quoted an interest rate of 9+%, Leaf put the tub and tile in, then Service Finance told me the interest rate went up to 12%+ - I have never made a late payment as you can see on my credit report, however, Hurricane Milton was not nice to us and we had to put in a new air conditioner, and have the screening on our enclosure repaired. So, our credit usage was higher than normal. So, because interest was the problem for us, and I did have a new tub, my wife and My wife and I decided the right thing to do was take out a second mortgage on our home – pay off our debt and be done with it. We got a payoff and sent to the finance company doing our payoffs. Our finance company that we took the second loan out on added $283.00 for additional interest. We thought this was behind us until we got a bill from Service Finance telling us we owed an additional $493.00 for interest. The loan with Service Finance was less that 2 months old. Because we are retired, and do not want stress in our lives we paid it. As I read reviews, I am seeing this is a standard practice for Service Finance.

The biggest complaint is this loan was fraudulent to begin with; I did not sign the paperwork approving this higher interest than originally quoted. It was a DocuSign document loan. Someone in their company DocuSigned this document. They have told me they are investigating, but I never got a response of their findings. Again, we have the tub, we are happy with the work that was done, so we thought the right thing to do was pay for it, and file a complaint, however, this is a felony and in reading reviews it seems they are guilty of other bad practices. I have filed a complaint with the Florida Office of Financial Regulation & Consumer protection Bureau

if I could give them zeros stars I…

if I could give them zeros stars I would. This is a predatory loan company. There is a reason why they have been removed from BBB. They don't want people knowing how deceitful they are. I made three final payments through balance transfers. Because these took time to process they charge me another $189 in interest. I called and requested the payoff amount. The employee told me if I paid the $189 I would be completely paid off. I made my final payment but something told me I needed to check again. That's when I knew I was wrapped into a scam. My account showed 100% payed off but that I owed .12 accrued interest. when I called another employee said it was because I paid on a Saturday and it didn't process until Monday. I told her it was service finance employee who made the final payment for me and he said I was 100% paid off. She then said she would have to request the "back office" to clear the amount and it takes 24-48 hours to process. I told her I wanted a manager and she said there "wasn't one available". I told her this is a complete scam and they are charging me interest on interest. If I hadn't of checked my account they would have continued to charge me interest and late fees. I already paid the .12 based on all the reviews I read. Now im waiting to see how they will try and bleed more money out of me. They are complete predators and I will also be filing a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau 855-411-2372. They also have my bank account information with no way to delete t from the website. I don't believe any positive reviews about this company.

THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM!

THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM!! going around to OLD people's houses to sale them thousands of dallors worth of equipment and dont even care if they dont have the money to pay for it. She still doesnt know the price of the equipment nore was she provided with any attachments. My mother is over 73 Yrs old borderline dimensia and one of your representatives came by the house and scared her into buying one of these machines. I want someone to get in contact with me expeditiously, she's on social security doesn't even have enough money to pay her monthly expenses. Someone signed her up knowing she was on social security. I want the machine removed feom her house expeditiously. I will call her local news station for elderly abuse. I will find out who sold it to, conveniently she has no paperwork or documentation of such transactions. I live 5 hrs away from my mom i called the customer service numbe, I'm being told that they dont do third party calls and that I needed to drive down to her establishment for them to speak with me. If that's not the definition of a corporation trying to SCAM an elderly citizen i dont know what is.

I look forward to hearing from anyone from this company.

Please and thank you,

Don't trust this company.

I always paid more then my monthly payment, but I noticed that the more I paid the more they took out for interest. I talked with them and tried to explain that as the principal went down the amount paid for interest should go down. I was told i didn't understand the loan and that is not how it works. According to this person I will still have to pay my monthly payment until the end of the loan, even if I pay over the amount do. Don't trust this company.
