Great product and customer service!
I've been with Swapfiets for a few years. Recently have been considering to buy my own bike, but after going to the store yesterday for a minor repair, I decided to not only stay with them, but to enter a 12 month plan. I really like the company and it seems that everyone who works there is so nice and helpful.

The "one-time sing-up fee" can be charged infinite times
After a good experience last year I considered renting again this year. Oh surprise, they charged me a second time the "one-time sing-up fee". Even after mentioning it when I picked up the bike.
The company should give real information, as a dissatisfied client, like myself, feels has been fooled twice. This shouldn't be called a ONE-TIME charge fee.

Highly recommend using this service
Requested bike to be delivered at home. I had some questions and the ladies answering the emails are rockstars as well as the guy who brought the bikes and made sure to have it set at the right height. Can recommend it

My bike was stolen so I rented from Swiftfiets as an intermission before buying a new one. I ride ONLY my bike as transportation and am athletic …
BUT
On the second day of rental, the brake froze for some unexplainable reason and the front wheel did not move. The sudden shock threw me off the bike and I fell in the street. The brakes jammed and the front wheel was like steel- it didn’t move - it was locked- and pushing the bike was impossible.
New bike.
On the 3rd day, with the new bike, I fell AGAIN because the distance between the seat and the handle bars is so close that you can’t jump
off quickly if needed.
So:
Company - good, great idea, service a bit complainy but overall good.
Bike- Hmmm a bit insecure and you need to pay attention when riding. Your mobility is infringed upon which may put your safety at risk.

Hidden fees
I booked the cheapest bike for one single month. The price was 14,90€; no hidden fees, no extra costs. I booked the bike on June 27th, July 1st I got an invoice for 38€, there was an extra fee that was not explicit. For me, this is a big blow since I was looking for a cheap opportunity that turned out to be highly expensive. When I went to my appointment to pick up the bike this was also not talked about, the guy who worked there did not say anything either, and we did talk prices. Other than that, I really like that the bike is heavy, makes it very smooth to ride and the lock is great.

Regarding the invoice, please note that the first invoice includes the monthly fee plus a one-time sign-up fee. This sign-up fee is clearly stated in the contract you agreed to when signing up. We always try to be transparent about all costs, including the sign-up fee.

Extremely disappointing experience with Swapfiets Munich — avoid if you value your time and money.
I returned my bike exactly on the contract end date, following all instructions from customer service, including leaving the bike and keys at the store when it was closed during normal hours. Yet, I was charged for days after the return because their system failed to process it on time.
The lack of accountability and unwillingness to resolve this fairly shows a shocking disregard for customers. Their “support” just repeats internal system errors as if that excuses overcharging. I had to waste time and effort making multiple trips because their store was closed when I needed to return equipment.
This is not how a customer-focused company operates. Instead of helping, they make you jump through hoops and keep billing you unfairly. If you want a smooth, transparent experience, look elsewhere.
