SwitchboardFree has been a breath of fresh air. From my very first enquiry, their sales team listened to our needs rather than pitching a one-size-fits-all package, and every promise they made was delivered (or exceeded) during onboarding. Migration day was seamless—no downtime, no lost calls—and their engineers even recorded and uploaded our personalised welcome and IVR messages before we went live, so we looked and sounded professional from hour one.
Call quality has been rock-solid, the online dashboard is intuitive, and the pricing is refreshingly transparent—exactly what was quoted, no hidden extras. Whenever we had questions, support responded within minutes, with real answers instead of scripted replies. Compared to our previous VOIP provider, the difference in both reliability and customer care is night and day.
If you’re looking for a hassle-free switch to a feature-rich phone system backed by a genuinely helpful team, I can’t recommend SwitchboardFree highly enough. Five stars well deserved!

Not sure what is happening to my porting of my personal telephone number from Skype. I have had no contact from Switchboardfree since opening the account. I will a wait a little longer and if the transfer is not complete or the number has been lost then I will close this account

Costs are ridiculous and support scarce
Update, my issue has been fully resolved to my complete satisfaction and I remain and continue to be a customer.
I’ve been with them over 2 years and it just keeps going up, complaining does nothing they just keep sending invoices and taking money. Replies take 3 days if at all. I cannot recommend and will ask my bank how to stop them taking money.

Take care signing up for Switchboard FREE!
The actual terms of SwitchboardFREE are buried in the terms of service, they are not transparent. I originally understood we were entering a month trial service when until they deducted £13.10 from my card. I searched the website for a ways to cancel but none is provided - they now tell me you need to email them to cancel - again deliberately effusive. Despite not using the service - they deducted a second months payment of £32.10 which I dont understand at all! They did this despite my having already emailed my cancellation... It transpires SwitchboardFREE is anything but "FREE". I emailed them requesting a refund of this second charge but notably received no reply from them. I have subsequently reported this second charge to my bank as fraudulent activity - I could not recommend SwitchboardFREE.

I just called support and the lady I spoke to came across as the computer says no.
No offer of a work round.
I also filled in a porting form that they lost even though I could provide proof i completed their form

Service is ok but go through invoices!
Service is ok. It does the job. Both my small business and my partners have both noticed they like to continuously add things to your package/bill to see if you realise. "Call recording free" and "call credit" depsite us constantly switching it off. Every few months this happens and whilst they play the "oh sorry, not sure how this has happened card" and then offer to refund that amount off the bill in question, it should just not happen! Sort it out

I'm very disappointed with this…
I'm very disappointed with this service. Even though I wanted to cancel my subscription, there was no option to do it manually. I had to write them an email just to say I wanted to cancel. After that, they asked me why I wanted to cancel... seriously? Why do they need to know? I simply found a better service — that's all.
At first, I didn’t want to leave a bad review. But after I replied to their question, I was charged £6 again — twice! One payment, then another a week later. That’s why I’m writing this review: to warn others. Be careful — they might charge you for no reason even after you try to cancel.
