Very rude customer service

I called customer service as I had ordered a replacement Sim card as the old one had been lost. The person i spoke to was very rude, told me I had waisted my time and there's and spoke over me everytime I tried to explain or ask a question. Told me I wasn't listening, that I was wrong for inserting the new Sim card before calling them which I advised had never been advised anywhere when I ordered the replacement, apparently thats my fault too thoughm I told him the way he was speaking to me was rude abd he said he was trying to explain and I wasnt listening. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Hi Melanie,

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your recent experience this is certainly not the impression we aim to give our customers.

We have carefully reviewed the conversation and, based on our assessment, we did not identify any rudeness from the advisor. During the interaction, the representative explained that a replacement process can only be completed on a non-active SIM. As the free SIM you ordered had already been activated by inserting it into the handset, a replacement could not be processed on that SIM. To help resolve the issue, the advisor arranged for a new SIM to be ordered so the replacement could be completed correctly.

We understand that the process can sometimes be confusing, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve how we communicate these steps more clearly.

Best Regards,
Sid

Please avoid, don't be sucked in by the good offers!

I moved to Talk Home in January and had been really pleased. I had a really poor signal with a previous provider so was pleasantly surprised with this coverage. However as of last week I can no longer make or receive calls, despite a good signal, they all fail without even ringing. The annoying thing is I convinced my husband and sons to move across too. So we're now paying for four sims that can't make or receive calls.
Talk Home deny any issue, saying it's the phones. So all 4 different phones went wrong at the same time?!?
They claim my calls are connecting so there's no issue, which is utterly untrue.
Please don't make the mistake we did with the attractive low fee. It's not worth the terrible service.

Hi Kate,

We’re sorry to read your experience and would like to clarify the position based on the checks available to us.

Our network review does not indicate a service outage on your line. Where usage records show successful call attempts, this normally confirms the SIM and core network provisioning are functioning as expected. In many cases, intermittent calling behavior can be influenced by device settings, local coverage conditions, or handset compatibility.

Talk Home Mobile operates on EE infrastructure but uses all EE bands except Band 20. Our investigation also indicates that recent inbound calls were delivered over 2G technology. If you are experiencing call performance concerns, we recommend ensuring that 4G is enabled on the devices so they can utilize the full available mobile spectrum. Device network mode settings can materially affect call behavior even where signal appears strong.

We recommend using the services in different locations where coverage is strong and band 20 is not a dominant frequency for optimal performance.

Best Regards,
Sid

Again and again

Again and again. I don't know what is this. I ordered sim which was never deleted after resending again. After 30 days, i have to cancel with no other options. Then after more than a month, i received 3x sims at the same time which all are not in use as what I ordered as the plan. So I ordered again in Jan 26 now still no sim received at the end of Feb 26 and asked me to cancel and refund again.
What is this? Full of s**t and irritating.

Hi Jiwan,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the opportunity to clarify.

Our records show that after you reported non-receipt, our support team promptly arranged replacement SIM dispatches on more than one occasion to ensure you received the service as quickly as possible. Re-dispatches were processed without delay from our side.

Once a SIM is dispatched, the delivery is handled by Royal Mail and is outside our direct control. While most deliveries arrive within the expected timeframe, postal delays can unfortunately occur which is already mentioned in the terms.

We understand how frustrating this situation has been. If you need any assistance, please contact us directly and we will be happy to assist.

COMPLETELY AVOID!

I saw this low cost mobile network running on EE, and thought about all the adds going on about how good EE are. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that they are not to be compared with any good network. My experience was diabolical! People could not get hold of me, I couldn't always make calls, and when I could, it seemed to take ages from pressing dial to actually calling.
Luckily, I was in my cooling off period, so I called up and cancelled. About 5 minutes after I got a message saying 'they had taken another payment, and thank you for your continued support! I called back again, and was assured the 2 month payments would be credited in up to 14 working days! I was only with them about 11 or 12 days!
I've not yet received any confirmation of cancellation or money back, but they were fast at cutting me off!
COMPLETELY AVOID!

Hi Stephan,

We’re sorry to read about your experience and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Mobile coverage and call performance can vary by location, device compatibility, and local conditions. While many customers experience reliable service, we recognise that individual experiences may differ.

Customers are provided with a 14-day cooling-off period specifically to test the service. Where the service does not meet expectations and cancellation is requested within this period, refunds are processed in line with the agreed terms.

We can confirm that your cancellation has been completed and the applicable refunds have already been issued following your request. If you have not yet seen the funds in your account, please allow normal bank processing time for the refund to be reflected.

Hi Ross,

We’re sorry to read your feedback and would like to clarify the position based on the checks completed on your account.

Our review shows that your services are active and that recent usage has been successfully recorded on the line, which indicates the SIM and network provisioning are functioning. In many cases, intermittent calling issues can be influenced by device settings, local coverage conditions, or handset compatibility rather than a network-side fault.

The troubleshooting steps provided by our team are standard diagnostic measures intended to isolate the root cause as quickly as possible. They are not scripted responses but part of normal technical support practice.

If you need any assistance you are welcome to contact us directly.

Think twice before you switch to Talk Home. I think they are over subscribed, I switched both mine and my wife's mobile to Talk Home. Two weeks later we are leaving. Most of the time we can't make any calls, and people trying to ring us can't get through. Truly a very poor service, I would have given zero stars on the review, but one is the lowest. Hi Barry,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience has not met your expectations.

We would like to clarify that Talk Home Mobile does not intentionally limit or restrict customer access due to subscription levels, and we continuously monitor network performance. However, service quality can vary depending on local coverage conditions, device compatibility, and environmental factors — which may affect call connectivity in certain areas.

Where customers report calling difficulties, our support team carries out account and network checks and provides troubleshooting steps to help identify whether the issue relates to local signal conditions, handset settings, or network availability at the location. Coverage can differ from one address to another, even within the same region.

We always encourage customers to contact us directly so we can review specific cases in detail and assist where possible. We also support customers who choose to switch provider through the PAC process in line with industry regulations.

We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to improve customer experience.

This network is in the Stone age

**** UPDATE ****

Well Sid the robotic corporate cut and paste minion has really outdone him self on this one
He/it claims that these huge shortcomings as hilighted in my review are in the terms and Conditions.
I would tike to point out the following
1. At no time during the onboarding process is ant information made available to customers that features such as band 20 are missing and that this will impact on signal strength in buildings and in rural areas.
2. Customer services who in my experience are ignorant and rude tell yo it's a fault of your handset or you location, pointing to the coverage map and telling me I should of checked it before ordering a sim. Thing is I did check and they refer you to the EE map which shows the EE coverage which has B20!!!!!! making that map irrelevant.
3. If this shortfall is made clear at the point of purchase then explain your low score on here where most of the complaints are about this very problem.
4. If Sid can be a human and not a corporate cut and paste robot then reply to this update explaining EXACTLY where on the onboarding process this lack of service due to no B20 is made clear to potential customers. There is no mention of this on your site or advertising.
5. It appears that b20 and other EE features such as WiFi calling are not supported as a cost saving measure yet there are other MVN's such as Lyca to name just 1 that provide these EE features at a similar or cheaper cost. So it's a profit driven decision.
6. It seems the rude and uncaring customer service ethos extends to cut and paste Sid where he as good as says if you don't like it go elsewhere. That as far as this outfit is concerned in combination with the reviews on here should tell you all you need to know about this second rate outfit.
I do not expect a further reply from cut and paste Sid so take my advice and avoid these cluwms like the plague

This is for Sid who I am sure writes the cut and paste corporate bills it replies.
I have just requested a PAC number as I cannot spend another day with these clowns.
Like everyone else I have had the same issues I.e. Calls not connecting, calls not being received and not having acces to mobile data when on calls.
As Sid will tell you in his insulting cut and paste responses they are full aware of this issue which is caused by them not supporting band 20.
So my questions are
1 Why operate a network that cannot function properly without band 20
2 Why is this shortfall I. Functionality not mentioned when you take out a sim
3 What are you going to do to rectify your network and bring it out of the 1990's

I have started a referral to offcom on the grounds of misrepresentation and false advertising.

I eagerly await a rubbish corporate cut and paste from Sid the robot

Hi Gabriel Avalon,

Thank you for your review. While we respect your opinion, we would like to clarify several important points for accuracy and balance.

Talk Home Mobile provides service in line with the coverage information and terms made available to customers at the point of purchase. Mobile services are dependent on a combination of network configuration, handset compatibility and local signal conditions, and no mobile provider can guarantee identical performance in every location or on every device.

Regarding the points raised:

Coverage and call performance vary by location and device this is industry standard and not unique to Talk Home Mobile.

Service limitations and coverage considerations are explained within our terms and support guidance.

We do not misrepresent our service, where a customer feels the service does not meet their needs, they are free to switch provider using a PAC code, which we provide without restriction.

We also wish to clarify that our support responses are based on factual account and network checks, not “cut and paste” messaging. Where technical limitations are explained, this is to ensure transparency and to provide accurate guidance rather than speculation.

While we regret that the service did not meet your expectations, the network is operating within its published parameters, and we continue to support customers in resolving issues wherever possible.

Best Regards,
Sid

Updated:

Thank you for updating your review. We appreciate feedback, even when it is critical, and we would like to respond clearly and factually so that other readers have accurate context.

First, to clarify this response is written by a real member of our team, not a bot. Our replies are based on individual case reviews and network checks; they are not automated or copied without context.

1) Network and Band 20
Talk Home Mobile operates using EE network infrastructure. We use EE network bands except Band 20. This is part of our network configuration and does not mean the service is defective; however, it can affect coverage in certain indoor or rural areas where Band 20 may be dominant.

2) Coverage information
The EE coverage checker is designed for direct EE customers and reflects EE’s full network configuration. For Talk Home Mobile services, customers should check coverage using the Talk Home Mobile coverage checker, which reflects our service setup.

Coverage and performance scores are provided as guidance only; real-world performance can vary due to location, building structure, device type, and local network conditions. This is standard across the mobile industry.

3) Website and feature listing
We do not list services or features that are not offered as part of our service. Our website and terms describe what is included, rather than publishing a list of unsupported features. This approach is consistent with standard industry practice.

4) Customer support and responses
Our intention is never to dismiss concerns or appear uncaring. When we explain technical limitations or suggest alternatives, this is to provide accurate information based on verified checks rather than speculation.

5) On misrepresentation
We reject the suggestion of misrepresentation or false advertising. The service is provided within its published terms and coverage guidance, and no mobile network can guarantee identical performance in all locations or on all devices.

Customers are also provided a 14-day cooling-off period to test the service. If it does not meet expectations during that period, they may request cancellation and a refund in line with our terms.

We genuinely regret that the service did not meet your expectations, but we hope this clarification helps others understand how the service is structured and how coverage should be assessed.

This will be our final update on Trustpilot. If you have any further concerns, please contact us directly to get them addressed.

Thanks.

If you need reliable calls and text go elsewhere!!!!

I have been with this company for a year. When you dial a number you have to wait about 45 seconds for it to connect…ALL THE TIME…that’s one thing, & you can’t be on the phone and use the Internet at the SAME time….so what are they good for? ONLY mobile data. Forget it if you want a RELIABLE service on calls and texts, also if make a complaint they either ghost you or blame you, they take no responsibility for their failings. It’s absolutely laughable the promo on their website says a ‘reliable service’ NO it is not!! ONLYif you want to use mobile data!! Texts I couldn’t even send any at Christmas or New Year reported it in January apparently it was a known fault that was ongoing. They should’ve put that on their website. But no, they did not & took weeks for it to start working again…calls to my number often do NOT connect so either FAIL or go straight to voicemail but when you bring up, they just blame you or your phone. It’s never then it’s never their problem and they argue like hell they’ve really upset me but they don’t give a damn even….I would advise you do not take this Sim plan you WILL regret it often. I’ve provided proof with screenshots, et cetera they’re not interested because they’re perfect apparently please give me a break…. they come back with things about signal and blah blah blah. Don’t be ridiculous. So I will be leaving eventually but I’m taking them Ofcom due to the lies they tell & blame you for the lack of service denying EVERYTHING. There is absolutely no customer service in terms of rewarding & cheap for a GOOD reason. I’m very annoyed by the way they treated me, I’m a customer but you wouldn’t think I was because they don’t give a damn they’ve more or less told me to leave because I think they’re sick of me complaining but I think I’ve got every right to complain. I am paying for unlimited CALLS unlimited TEXTS and mobile data and I only get one third of what I’m paying for & NO refunds NO compensation. Nothing!! a total disgrace how they treat loyal customers appalling…you have been warned.

Reply from Talk Home Mobile

Hi Penny,

We’re sorry to read about your experience and understand how frustrating ongoing service issues can be.

Talk Home Mobile operates on the EE network; however, it’s important to clarify that Talk Home Mobile does not support Band 20. In locations where Band 20 is the dominant frequency particularly indoors or in certain residential areas customers may experience issues such as delayed call setup, calls diverting to voicemail, or limited call and SMS reliability, even when signal bars are visible. Coverage can therefore vary significantly by location, building structure, and handset capability.

Our checks in similar cases typically confirm that services are active and correctly provisioned at account level, with no restrictions applied. Where call or text performance is inconsistent, this is most often related to local coverage limitations rather than an account fault. Mobile data can still function in these scenarios, as it behaves differently to voice and SMS services.

We appreciate your feedback regarding communication and acknowledge that known network-wide issues should always be communicated clearly when identified. We also recognize your dissatisfaction with the outcome and note your intention to escalate the matter.

While we regret that Talk Home Mobile did not meet your expectations at your location, coverage suitability can differ between providers even those using the same underlying network due to differences in supported bands and service configurations. For customers who require guaranteed indoor voice and SMS coverage at a specific address, we always recommend checking coverage compatibility before committing to a plan.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Your feedback has been noted and is reviewed internally to improve how we communicate technical limitations and set clearer expectations.

Best Regards,
Sid

I have been with Talk Home twice.

I have been with Talk Home twice.

First time, I was on their special deal, but then my card wasn't accepted by them (no problem my end!), which then I lost the deal when setting back up. So I left them. Customer services no help at all.

Foolishly I decided to come back a second time because they had such cheap deals on, so I left Spucu (which uses EE), only to find I couldn't receive or make phone calls in my home unless I went to my bedroom window (even then it cut out). Such a headache. I phoned them and they said "network signal is weak where you live." Talk Home piggy backs off EE, yet Spucu piggy backs off EE but was receiving calls all around my home for months!

Oh and if you get a voicemail, you won't be able to obtain the number that called you. No text with the number called, just a Talk Home saying you have a voicemail. That's it.

I've signed back up with Spucu. They are pretty good. NOT going back with Talk Home. Worth paying the few extra quid for a better service.

Edit: replying to Talk Home response on 5th Feb:

Case and point. Having to deal with important phone calls regarding work and family matters, where I had to run right outside my house to be lucky to even get a signal is unacceptable. A phone network company that states it uses EE, needs to clearly state no garentee of same signal as EE, due to this "band 20". Unbelievable. Refund please. That response makes things even more frustrating - just like talking to customer service.

Hi Wayne,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that our service did not meet your expectations on this occasion.

While Talk Home Mobile operates on the EE network, we do not support Band 20. In locations where Band 20 is the dominant frequency, customers may experience reduced indoor coverage, even if another EE-based provider performs differently. Coverage can vary depending on the network configuration, handset compatibility, and frequency bands available at a specific location.

Regarding voicemail, a notification is sent to confirm a message has been received. The caller’s number will only be available where it is provided by the caller.

We understand your decision to move to another provider and respect your choice. Thank you for having tried Talk Home Mobile, and we wish you the best with your new service.

A decent inexpensive way to get EE

I ordered a TalkHome sim as I wanted to give EE a try without paying a premium price, and this looked like good deal. The sim arrived, I got my number ported over, then found that nothing worked, and on looking online at my account it seems there was no 'plan' activated. It took a few phone calls to Customer Services, but eventually it all worked. I've got a 12GB data plan for less than a fiver, so I'm happy.

Great service, Honest pricing.

I love this company for it's honest pricing and great customer service. Being a very cynical black and white person I only give a five star review if the product is perfect, I purchased the sim card online and received it three days later, used it every day for two weeks for many hours a day in various locations, it didn't let me down once. So time to port my cherished number over which I've had for many years, I did it using my Talkhome online portal using my old providers PAC code, by late afternoon the next day it was working with very little disruption. I did have to ask their service agents a couple of questions and within seconds they answered, so I can't fault them. Thanks TalkHome!

Stay Far Away From Talk Home Mobile, Don't Be Tempted, You Will Regret It!

I moved to Talk Home from Lebara expecting a reliable, straightforward service. At first, everything looked fine — but that illusion didn’t last long. Very quickly, I began running into serious problems that made the service practically unusable.

Constant Call Failures
• People trying to call me simply couldn’t get through.
• When I tried to make calls, it often took up to seven attempts before anything connected.
• All of this happened despite having a strong 5G signal everywhere I went.

A mobile network that can’t handle basic calls is already a red flag, but things only got worse from there.

I contacted customer support multiple times, and every interaction felt dismissive.
I was repeatedly told there were “no issues,” and at one point I was even advised to move to another provider. Only after several calls did someone finally suggest replacing the SIM.

On 5 January, a SIM swap was initiated around 17:00. I was told it would take two hours.
It wasn't until 13:00 the next day, my phone went completely dead — no calls in, no calls out, nothing.
And that’s how it stayed. After 5 days still without any service, I request a PAC code, I was moving from this provider as quickly as I possible could.

For nine days I had zero service. No updates from them unless I called, No urgency, No compensation, I had to call them every day for updates and every time the update was, it is being worked on, they even started to blame BT.

On the ninth day, my number finally ported to a new provider. They kept me fully updated throughout the process and even apologised when the port took one day longer than scheduled and they compensated me for that single day without me even asking. What a service, well done iD Mobile!

Meanwhile, Talk Home left me without service for nine days and to make things even worse I had to call them every day for updates (maybe I should charge them for my time) I paid for a service that they could not provide, they did not provide any compensation for the loss of service or the terrible service they provided. There is no customer care what so ever.

To make things even more absurd, 18 days after my service originally went dead, Talk Home finally emailed to say the issue had been resolved — long after I’d already escaped to a provider that actually communicates.

Talk Home Mobile was, without question, the worst mobile experience I’ve ever had.
Unreliable service, dismissive support, and a complete lack of accountability.
I strongly advise staying well away from Talk Home. You will regret moving to them.

Hi Customer,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear about the difficulties you faced and understand how frustrating an extended service disruption can be.

Having reviewed similar cases, we’d like to clarify that Talk Home operates on the EE network; however, coverage and call reliability can vary depending on location, device compatibility, and supported network bands. In some areas, even where signal bars or 5G indicators are displayed, voice services may be impacted if certain frequency bands are not available or supported by the handset in use.

Regarding the SIM replacement, while SIM swaps are typically completed within a short timeframe, there are occasions where network-level provisioning or third-party dependencies can delay restoration. In such cases, our teams work with the upstream service provider to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, though this process is not always within our direct control.

We regret that you felt communication fell short during this period. Our support teams aim to provide updates as soon as verified information is available, and we acknowledge that delays without clear timelines can be disappointing.

We note that your number was ultimately ported successfully, and we’re pleased to hear your new provider is meeting your expectations. While we’re sorry to have lost you as a customer, we appreciate the opportunity to receive feedback, as it helps us continue to review and improve our processes, escalation handling, and customer communications.

Best Regards,
Sid
