Con merchants

In reply to Sid answer to my review:
Phone number 7396928006
This number was on a monthly auto renewal, no contract.
The payment method was deleted and the account too, yet I was charged again( illegally). I spoke on the chat help line and I was told by Joe to do exactly what I did it before.
Account was deleted alright as I couldn't log in.Joe sent a code to use. I logged in and my payment method and account were still there although shouldn't have been anymore. I now re deleted again and open a dispute via my bank.
Crooked phone merchant and useless on top of that.
Utterly disgusting.

Hi Barojos,

To clarify, we did not state that your number was on a contract plan your plan was indeed a monthly rolling bundle with auto-renewal enabled. The renewal charge occurred because the auto-renewal feature was active on your account at the time of renewal.

Please note that while a plan is active, the linked payment method cannot be deleted, as it’s required for renewal. Once auto-renewal is disabled and the plan expires, the payment details can then be removed.

You contacted us and your renewal was disabled from support side.

Hi Karl,

We’re sorry to hear about your recent experience and understand how frustrating this must have been. After reviewing your case, the delay in transferring your number was caused by missing RSP (Routing Service Provider) files from your previous network operator. These files are required to successfully complete the number porting process between networks.

Please be assured that our team is actively working with the relevant service provider to obtain the necessary files and finalise your port-in as soon as possible.

We truly appreciate your patience and apologise for the inconvenience caused. If you’d like us to check for any further updates, please contact us directly.

Thieves

Had £25 in my account and they would not refund, It is not there policy to give you your money back or transfer it .

Added 24/10
The legal position in the UK, based on Ofcom General Conditions of Entitlement and the European Electronic Communications Code (EECC) (effective April 2023), mandates that:
"Transferring providers shall refund, upon request, any remaining credit to the consumers using pre-paid services".

To your response -
Multiple sections on Talk Home's plan pages state the following under the "Cancellation & Refund" or "Requesting a PAC/STAC Code" sections:
"Requesting a PAC/STAC Code. Talk Home is compliant with the following Ofcom regulation: If you request a PAC code, we will provide you with one valid for 30 days. We will also communicate important information – such as your credit balance if you're a pay-as-you-go customer."
This statement, while not explicitly detailing the refund process in the snippet as you claim, is significant because it acknowledges compliance with the relevant Ofcom regulation (General Condition C7) which, in turn, incorporates the European Electronic Communications Code (EECC).

I strongly urge you to review and immediately update your Terms and Conditions and internal training materials. My experience highlights a significant failing in customer communication and documentation:

Your customer service staff repeatedly provided verbal and written advice that directly contradicted the legal requirement for a refund, which you have doubled down on today Sid.

This has now been escalated to the compliance Department and if the Compliance Department refuses my refund or fails to provide a satisfactory resolution within the required timeframe, I will immediately escalate this matter to the relevant Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme (either the Communications Ombudsman or CISAS).

I will take this further, this systemic failure means that it is highly likely many other customers will have been inaccurately advised, resulting in Talk Home improperly retaining non-refundable credit balances belonging to customers who followed the legal porting process.

Reported to Offom and received an email saying Talk Home have reviewed and will refund

Can't recommend

Ordered a SIM but webpage error led to incorrect address for delivery. So tried to communicate to get amended, should be easy enough I thought. Then realised their invoice looked incomplete and lacked several important things such as a trading address, contact details and T&C's etc. Very dodgy and required in the UK on a legal document like an invoice. Their support email address bounces error messages repeatedly. I lost confidence at this point. Submitted a ticket to ask for cancellation which went unanswered. So resorted to online chat as last attempt to communicate. This was OK if painfully slow. There's a reason it's cheap and you'll find out when dealing with them. Not recommended, look elsewhere.

Hi Funky Bus,

We’d like to clarify that your comments are incorrect. Talk Home Mobile is a fully registered UK provider operating under strict regulatory standards.

Our invoices are simplified for customer clarity, but all official company details, Terms & Conditions, and contact information are clearly available through your online account and our website the link is included in every invoice.

Address updates can be handled instantly through our support team. In your case, the cancellation you requested was processed promptly and correctly.

We’ve also verified our email system and found no delivery issues on our side. Any bouncebacks likely originated from your email provider.

We take transparency and customer trust seriously, and all services are provided in full compliance with UK regulations.

Another bad experience with Talk Home

PS. the original TH e-mail assuring me their SIM would work in ALL unlocked phones did NOT contain the phrase "network compatible phones". Makes one wonder!

23.10.25. I have been advised not to engage further with Talk Home via Trust Pilot but instead to use regulatory and legal channels. What I can write in this last comment is that TH's e-mail assuring me their SIM would work in ALL unlocked phones failed to acknowledge my previous declaration to them of the type of phone I SPECIFICALLY wanted advice about - i.e. my Blackberry. TH customer services have since undermined their own claim of assurance by comprehensively explaining why it wouldn't. TH will be challenged over why this later info was not considered in their original e-mail of assurance that it would. My intention is still to hold TH to account and an allegation of mis-selling plus incorrect advice will feature. My opinion remains be careful with Talk Home customer support due to my experience.
To repeat, I will not engage further with Talk Home via Trust Pilot.

21.10.25: Sid’s reply that my suggestion below is incorrect is undermined by Sid being incorrect in claiming TH provided accurate information at every stage:
On 17.09.25 I e-mailed Talk Home customer support inquiring whether their SIM would work in my (legacy, unlocked) Blackberry Keyone as I knew its older android 8.1.0 system had limitations which meant I had to be careful. I gave them the phone's full specs. Next day their e-mail assured me their SIM would work in ALL unlocked phones. Accordingly I paid them £13.00 for a plan. But their advice was wrong as I couldn't make calls in the UK with my Blackberry. Subsequent e-mails from TH customer services contradicted their previous 18.09.25 e-mail of assurance and explained comprehensively why so, proving I was given incorrect advice for my Blackberry but it was too late as TH had my money. Expert opinion I have received suggests this should be investigated as mis-selling, an opinion which I am seeking legally.
TH have constantly refused to engage on the false assurance above proven by their undermining of their original 18.09.25 assurance e-mail; Sid has just done it here. The expert opinion I have received also thought Sid’s refusal to do so may be due to Sid’s replies being AI generated. So why did TH issue incorrect advice about their SIM working in all unlocked phones when it couldn’t? This fails their Terms & Conditions and Ofcom guidelines. TH haven’t even described the “deadlock” letter procedure to me. So much for Sid’s claim of “clear communication, transparent policies, and fair service for all customers“. I’ll report back when I get the judgement. But I still think be careful with Talk Home customer support

20.10.25: discovered my account originally had £13.00 in but today only has £5.00. I can't use phone, texts are free! Zero explanation from Talk Home. Another reason for me not to trust them.

Beware of Talk Home. Their customer services not good: they wrote confirming Talk Home SIM would work in my "legacy" phone (I didn't want to buy a newer phone). So I paid them for a monthly plan and top up. SIM arrived and it did NOT work despite repeated attempts. Then TH customer services issued several e-mails saying it wasn't their fault but that of my phone! They steadfastly refuse to accept their initial mistake and also have refused a refund. Betrayed my trust. Having to seek legal redress.

Hi Acerbic Parks,

Thank you for your feedback. After a thorough review of your case, we can confirm that your Talk Home SIM and plan have been fully active and functioning correctly throughout. Our network and service were verified to be operating as intended, with confirmed usage and successful testing in another handset.

The difficulties you experienced were entirely due to your device, not our network. Regarding the £13 please note that £5 is your SIM credit and £8 was charged for your monthly plan you have opted.

Our customer support team provided accurate information at every stage and acted fully in line with the agreed Terms & Conditions and Ofcom guidelines. The suggestion that Talk Home failed to deliver a service is therefore incorrect.

We recognize that technical compatibility can be frustrating, but it’s important to note that our service functions on compatible devices. Talk Home remains committed to clear communication, transparent policies, and fair service for all customers.

Best Regards,
Sid

Update,

We must firmly clarify that your claim is incorrect. A complete review of your case confirms that Talk Home acted entirely within our Terms & Conditions and provided a fully functional service throughout.

Your SIM and plan were active and successfully tested in another compatible handset, confirming beyond doubt that our network operates exactly as intended. The fault lies solely with your BlackBerry KeyOne an outdated handset that no longer supports the UK’s current 4G and 5G network standards following the national 3G switch-off.

Our statement that Talk Home SIMs work with all unlocked and network-compatible devices remains accurate. Legacy devices outside current standards cannot be guaranteed compatibility, and this was not mis-selling in any form.

Of the £13 you refer to, £8 covered the plan you selected, and £5 remains as account credit. Nothing has been withheld or misused.

Our responses have been factual, transparent, and fully compliant with Ofcom and consumer regulations. While we understand your disappointment, Talk Home delivered its service exactly as agreed and cannot be held responsible for device incompatibility.

Best Regards,
Sid

Hi Brian,

We would like to firmly clarify that the information provided to you was entirely correct. You are free to port your number back to Talk Home if it was previously ported out; however, the discounted plan you referred to is a one-time promotional offer strictly for new users only.

These terms are clearly outlined at the time of purchase and are designed to ensure fairness and transparency for all customers. Once a number has already benefited from a promotional discount, it is no longer eligible for the same offer again this is standard industry practice and fully compliant with our published Terms & Conditions.

It is therefore incorrect and misleading to suggest that this practice is “nonsense” or unfair. The offer terms are publicly available and were accepted at the time of activation. You are, of course, free to port your number at any time, but doing so will mean the discounted plan no longer applies.

Our team acted correctly and within the agreed terms throughout your interaction. While we understand your disappointment, declining a repeated discount is not poor service, but rather compliance with transparent and fair policies that apply to all customers equally.

We appreciate your previous custom and wish you well with your new provider.

Best Regards,
Sid

Hi Moulik,

We’ve reviewed your comments and would like to clarify that Talk Home Mobile operates on the EE UK network, which provides one of the most extensive coverage footprints nationwide. However, as with all providers, signal strength can vary depending on location, terrain, and local network conditions.

Please also note that Talk Home Mobile does not support Band 20 (800 MHz), which may impact coverage in certain areas, particularly indoors.

For the best experience, we recommend ensuring the SIM is used in a fully compatible handset and testing in multiple locations.

Our service is functioning as expected, and coverage-related differences are due to external network factors beyond our direct control.

Hi Laiaj,

We categorically reject this false claim. Talk Home does not and cannot manipulate call durations or billing records. All call times are system-generated and verified directly through our network provider’s data a process that is fully automated, regulated, and beyond manual alteration.

Every second of usage is logged independently to ensure total accuracy and transparency. Allegations of falsified call lengths are entirely baseless and misrepresent how telecom systems operate.

We take such accusations seriously and are more than willing to share verified records to demonstrate the precise call duration. Talk Home operates with integrity, full compliance, and fairness toward every customer.

Useless coverage

Further to the reply provided, I believe the review is entirely justified. The company had been made aware that i had also tried it in a handset.

I also made them aware that I had cancelled the auto renew. There is money sat in my account (it is in credit) which they feel, due to their terms, they are entitled to keep.

Useless coverage, useless customer service. I have money sat on account as a credit. However they rely on terms that they have yet to send to me to keep this. You get what you pay for. In this case I paid a budget price and got a budget service.

We have reviewed your case and would like to clarify that posting a negative review after breaching the agreed terms of use is unjustified.

Your SIM was used in a dongle, which is a clear violation of our Acceptable Usage Policy, which allows use only in standard mobile handsets.

Coverage issues you mention are not related to any fault with our service we operate on the EE network, which offers the strongest coverage in the UK.
