Matt Fear - Tax Hoot - Success

Received a successful rebate using Tax Hoot. Matt Fear was my main contact and explained every stage of the process clearly. Unfortunately due to the delay with SA number, I did miss out on money owed from 2019 but that couldn’t be helped. Still a great service and would use again.

Easy Process

Successful rebate with no issues along the way, everything went as discussed in the initial meeting with Jack. Tax code was changed back again at the end of the process to avoid any miss payments in the future. Would highly recommend.

My TaxHoot Experience

To be honest, I was very dubious about doing this but Jack Newman was very helpful and professional throughout the whole process. I had my guard up just because you have to in these situations with scammers etc but I’m so glad I went for it. If you get the opportunity to do it, go for it as it is such an easy process to go through. My advice also is that if you could use Jack Newman who guided me through the whole process and was updating and very accommodating then I highly recommend. Would definitely use again. Thanks Jack 👍🏼

SCAM!!!

If I could give 0 star I would. Acted on behalf of my husband & has taken all his rebate! Claiming to have sent to a wrong bank account number to which stating the bank accepted! Spoke to the bank & no account exists! Scam….stay clear!!

Hello Catherine,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. However, as we understand it, the wrong bank details were provided which has caused an issue with the receipt of your payment.

I am unable to discuss this further with you do to GDPR. Please may you ask the client (your husband), to email us on hoot@taxhoot.co.uk so I can get this sorted for you?

Thank you,
Ginny

Terrible experience from the start

Terrible experience from the start, 8 months into it now. Lost out on a year's rebate because taxhoot had taken 4 months to even start the claim. Was then told that HMRC confirmed £5500 then months later randomly sent £700 with no explanation. I've been trying to find out why the figure has changed so much but taxhoot don't bother to reply. The statement on the website says "weekly updates" this is comical. You chase taxhoot for months with no updates.

Great experience

Great experience! Jack Newman, made the process very simple. Kept me up to date throughout and got me a rebate that I would have never claimed myself (£1600) in my pocket! I was able to take my wife on a well needed break to New York! Thanks again Jack keep up the good work.

Terrible Experience

I started my process after being referred to in August 2023.

I am no further on after being told my rebate was for to be paid between 8-10 weeks… some 6 months ago.

HMRC are now completing checks and my wait continues. Funnily enough, TAXHOOT appear to have washed their hands with me and my case ‘can’t assist anymore’ and it’s all on me now…

So, the story seems to be that of it’s running smooth Taxhoot will take the cake. The minute HMRC run a check they disappear to the hills.

Taxhoot have stated, however, that if HMRC do pay they will reduce their fee to 20% - for doing what exactly??

Odd how Taxhoot have requested me to ask HMRC to pay the amount into my account instead of theirs?? They even sent a template letter to HMRC to request this… bizarre!

Look forward to hearing Taxhoots response to this. My fear is that I am going to incur charges / penalties from HMRC following the guidance of Taxhoot and naively thinking it was legitimate as sold.

I’ll keep you all informed, my personal experience with Taxhoot has been shoddy at best, communication soon disappearing when questions get asked!

Taxhoot good but could be better

All be it a long process starting in November 2023 and getting the rebate in May 2024.

TAXhoot come and go with emails sometimes replys aren't great and you wait a while. But when things are working and HMRC are accepting paperwork it seems run a lot smoother. One thing you do seems to get emails from multiple people within tax hoot and and not all emails seem to have tax hoot logos ect on so can sometimes feel a bit off.

Overall good out come!
