Worst experience of my life

Evening folks

Just a post in regards too the worst encounter I’ve ever had anywhere in my life.

I needed some fuel to get me to my work and in this current day and age I always decide to use Apple Pay anywhere I go as usually it’s reliable ( not on this occasion )

I decided to use Texaco ( Gannel Servixe Station ) as that was enroute to where I needed to go.

I filled up £100 and made my way inside and attempted to pay via Apple Pay however this was subsequently declined so attempt it numerous times with the same outcome. Now as I don’t use my card anywhere then I don’t tend to have it on my possession and leave it at home.

I was asked to call someone to pay to which I tried and they couldn’t help and they was asking me to ring more people to which I politely explained that I don’t wish to put this financial burden on them.

I was then put onto the phone to the most rudest and patronising person I have ever encountered - quoting the first words as “ you’ve took £100’s worth of fuel and you can’t pay for it? “ politely explained to him that it’s not the fact that I can’t pay for it but it’s because there’s an issue with my phone. He then goes on to say you own your own company and you can’t get your staff to pay for your fuel and once again explained that it’s not their responsibility to do such things. He states I cannot leave and because he doesn’t want to agree to a contract ( no means to pay form ) then he’s going to call someone to come and remove the fuel from my tank and that if I leave then he will call the police.

Now bear in mind - I have shown the garage my ID - they have my company registration number - they have my address - contact numbers - they have my photo from CCTV - they have my vehicle registration etc etc all to alleviate any concerns they may had have.

Throughout the whole time I was told I cannot leave, they wanted me to leave my car on the forecourt and go and get the money even though they knew I live 35 miles away. They then wanted me to leave my phone even though this is an essential part of my day to day life in running the business.

I couldn’t log into online banking because the HSBC app was not working for me either and Texaco earwigged my whole conversation with my bank as I had to have it on loudspeaker so that they could hear what was being said but in the end they couldn’t help me.

I was made to feel like I was a criminal as they was saying that should I leave then they’ll call the police for making off without paying even though I had attempted payment and saying that I couldn’t get in my car, I was humiliated in front of other customers who overheard what was happening and I felt like I was being forced to stay against my will through fear of them saying they’re contacting the police - All this lasted for over an hour to which made me extremely late for work I had planned.

The issue isn’t directly with the staff members in general as they’re just following the orders given too them by their boss however it’s 100% aimed at I think ( Mark ) his name.

You stated that everyone does this and don’t return with payment - May I remind you that not everyone is the same and you shouldn’t make people feel guilty or entrapped due to an error that’s out of their control and keep them from leaving through fear as that’s what you made me feel like.

In the end I think the staff member who was on duty ( Collette ) who was dealing with me spoke with the owner and I was allowed to leave after they gave me some account details to pay the money into once I got back into my online account - within the hour of me leaving then I rang back up to make payment and asked to make a complaint with regards to how this was handled and was told I couldn’t as the person I spoke too on the phone was the big man and I can’t go higher than him and what he says goes.

Don’t tarnish everyone with the same brush and I certainly won’t be using your forecourt again.

Sorry for the long post guys but this is still annoying me now even after 6 hours. 😡😡

Star Rewards Scam

I had a Texaco cashier ask if a wanted to exchange my Star Reward points, 20/07/21, I said no, but they were exchanged for a fuel token that I was unaware of so I did not use it. The token was put into the Texeco app apparently. The tokens only last for one year.
On the 27/12/22 I really did want to exchange my points and spent an hour attemping to get a token only ending up with a print out confirmining the order, a reference number, name of merchant and value of the token. The merchant refused it saying it should be a Love2shop card with a barcode (3 hour trip with parking fees) After a couple of phone calls to love2shop they helpfully agreed to resend the token, but this time there was a barcode PIN and picture of the merchant.
Called Star Rewards to complain about to tortuous route to get this token and where was the token for 20/07/21, it was only at this point did the customer help line say the points had been swapped for a Texaco token on the app. If I had known that I would have used it for fuel. The Star Rewards Customer helpline was totally useless, didn't offer to replace the Texaco token or add a few star reward points, he was obviously not authorised to do anything.
THESE TOKENS WERE FOR ONLY FOR £5 EACH
I will not use Texaco any more and neither should you.
The rewards scheme appears to be set up to make it difficult to redeem the the tokens backed up with a toothless customer abuse centre.

Atrocious behaviour towards a 70 year old lady with a disability…

As a 70 year old lady with a disability was not expecting the outrageous behaviour I experienced in the Texaco garage, Kingsley road
Bideford Devon.
They had their own very silly one way system designed to take me around the shop before I could pay for my petrol, I couldn't see a reason other than hoping I would buy something.
In my opinion it was unnecessary and I told them this. After being subjected to frightening and confrontational tirade from the assistant the manager joined in. She stormed ahead of me when I tried to leave obstructing me an then leant against my car door to prevent me getting in shouting at me and only went when I got my phone out to record her.
Disgusting!! Worst customer service I think I have ever experienced.

Water in diesel - Avoid

Filled up my car, drive away from forecourt and my car spluttered then broke down. Breakdown had to tow me away. Later found after being at Cotswold BMW that water was contaminated and in the diesel. Huge bill, this has been reported to the garage and trading standards.
Avoid! This was the Cheltenham petrol station on Gloucester Road.

Contaminated Diesel, Texaco Fallings Park Service Station Costcutter, Wolverhampton WV10 0RE

The issue that I have experienced was: I Filled up with diesel over there, the engine starts shaking, and 30 minutes late one of the injectors blow up, another one starts leaking. When got my car to the garage for investigation, they found that the diesel contains water in it.
This meant that the injector came of, breaking the holding bracket, fuel pipe and bolt. Diesel came off on hot engine and there was a lot of fumes coming out from under bonnet. Car stopped in the middle of the road and did not start anymore. I had to call AA for assistance. Spent half day until got it to the garage. Then spent time and money to fix it. After investigation, they found that the diesel contains water in it.
Texaco customer service and refusing to take any responsibility saying that there is nothing wrong with their fuel!!!

I normally get applegreen but got stuck this time. €60 down the drain for about 50KM, same mileage every week, half tank after 4 days, normally lasts 2 weeks with applegreen. Only €60 value left to do 10 days

dishonest trick

I was disappointed to have a trick played on me at Texaco Ramsgate recently (29th August).

The display at the roadside shows prices for unleaded and diesel only. The unleaded price was 171.9. I paid £41,86 for 22.52 litres and didn’t think about it at the time, but later realised I had been charged £1.859 per litre for ‘supreme’.

The trick is that, although there is space on the roadside display, there is no mention of ‘supreme’. Later I checked on the pump and it showed ‘unleaded’ in big letters, and ‘supreme’ in small letters. I had not realised that what I was buying was not unleaded at 171.9p.

That’s dishonest.

Rude Salesperson

I went to Texaco (14-24 Tudor St, Cardiff CF11 6AF) to return an Amazon parcel. When I printed the return label and asked him to help so that everything goes properly. He screamed at me saying, “Use your common sense”.
I asked him not to shout at me and requested him to be nice. Also added, “As a cashier, he has no right to misbehave even if the customer is wrong.”

His reply was, “Get out of my shop”!!!

I took a picture of him where you can see his angry face and the way he approached me. His face proves my statement.

He is a combination of an unprofessional, rude, misbehaving, short-tempered and mannerless person, who should be removed from his position immediately.

Useless

Useless! But getting paid to be useless is an insult to all other workers! Havent been getting my points after spending. Then when trying to contact customer support in regards to it, well there is no support. I mean none. Tried emailing directly twice but no reply. Deleting my app and going to use BP from now on. I reccomend you do the same! Really annoys me that people are willing to accept wages every week for no reason! I just hope there fuel is better than there support!

Their rewards program is cheating you

It is not the first time I am writing to complain about the services provided by your Meadow Lane, Nottingham, NG2 3HE station.

Last time, the staff there repeatedly refused to accept me using the digital texaco voucher. Finally, I had to go to another station and spend it successfully.

Today, another surprise to me. I purchased fuel there as usual. After I paid, however, the staff didn’t accept me to collect points. He replied he had already pressed ‘No’ in his cash machine……. What’s the point there?

Is it your deliberate sales strategy to impose on customers, making difficulties on claiming from your rewards program?
