About Bunch

Written by the company

Bunch is a platform that organises, manages and simplifies household finances.

Using innovative technology we are able to simplify people’s everyday lives by bunching ordinary, household bills into one platform and one monthly predictable bill.

We have created a selection of personalised packages to suit our differing customer needs. Meaning we’re able to help all our customers from students, to renters to homeowners.

Through our easy-to-use platform, customers are able to pick and choose what products they want to bunch into their package with options such as energy, super-fast broadband, water, contents insurance and lots more.

If our customers want to split their bills with other bill-payers they are able to do so (whether that be housemates or a partner). This allows our customers to have individual, personal liability and stops them being affected if others in the household have issues making payments. This helps to protect our customers and ultimately remove another layer of bill stress.

It’s important to us that our customers spend less time dealing with the hassle of bills and more time doing what they love. So at Bunch, we do all we can to make managing household finances easy.

I am a customer who is under bunch…

I am a customer who is under bunch limited. They are covering my electricity and water bills until recently they started to say that the original electricity company is against me moving to bunch limited. The bunch limited team said that they are sorting that out till recently they said they can't cover the electricity as the original company is not happy to be related to bunch limited. The bunch limited team said that there is only 2 bills of electricity pending to the original company. When we spoke with the original supplying company we were surprised to find out that there is no bills paid to them since Jan 2026 and we own the original supplier more than 3000 pounds. We emailed bunch limited to get response from them on how to fix this huge problem but they are not responding. They are not trustworthy and I hope they reply otherwise we will need to go to court.

Serious Concerns Regarding Bunch Energy – Billing, Meter Readings and Lack of Customer Support

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Bunch Energy and believe their handling of my account raises serious concerns that deserve regulatory scrutiny.
My partner and I entered into a 12-month fixed-term electricity contract with Bunch in February 2026, with the agreed monthly payment initially stated as approximately £244.
Approximately two months later, we were informed that there had apparently been an error and that the correct monthly payment should instead be £272. Although this was a significant change from what we had originally agreed to, we accepted it after speaking with a member of Bunch's customer service team, who assured us that, based on our usage, the account was expected to remain in credit by the end of the contract.
Both my partner and I work full-time, Monday to Friday, and our electricity usage has not been excessive. Despite this, we have experienced repeated issues concerning meter readings and the way our usage has been calculated since the beginning of the contract.
The situation became even more concerning approximately three weeks ago when I received notification that Bunch intended to increase our monthly payment to approximately £393. No clear, reasonable or properly evidenced explanation was provided for such a substantial increase.
I immediately contacted Bunch to request clarification and a proper breakdown of how this figure had been calculated. I have sent emails and attempted to contact them by telephone, but I have still not received a satisfactory written explanation.
This is particularly concerning because I have repeatedly provided meter readings and raised concerns about the accuracy of the readings and billing on the account. Customers should not be expected to accept substantial increases in their direct debit payments without a clear explanation, particularly where there is already an unresolved dispute concerning meter readings and usage.
Having subsequently looked at other customers' experiences and reviews, I am concerned that my experience may not be an isolated incident. I believe this matter warrants closer attention from the relevant consumer protection and energy regulatory bodies, including Ofgem and the Energy Ombudsman, if appropriate.
I am not asking for preferential treatment. I simply expect Bunch to:
• Provide a full and transparent breakdown of how my charges have been calculated.
• Explain the discrepancy between the original £244 payment, the revised £272 payment and the proposed £393 payment.
• Explain and correct any inaccurate meter readings or estimated consumption.
• Provide evidence supporting the level of electricity usage being attributed to my account.
• Respond properly to the correspondence I have already sent.
• Review whether the contract has been administered in accordance with the terms originally agreed.
• Confirm what action will be taken to resolve the dispute and prevent further incorrect charges.
I have kept records of my meter readings, correspondence and communications with Bunch and will retain these as evidence.
At this stage, I am extremely dissatisfied with both the billing experience and the lack of meaningful customer support. I strongly recommend that anyone considering entering into a contract with Bunch carefully reviews the terms, monitors their meter readings and keeps detailed records of all communications.
If Bunch believes that the £393 monthly payment is genuinely justified, I expect them to provide a clear, evidence-based explanation rather than simply attempting to collect the money.
I am prepared to escalate the matter through the appropriate formal complaints and regulatory channels if it cannot be resolved directly.

Poor after sale support.

The sales pitch was fantastic but thats where it ended.
Their quote was over inflated, they took 2/3 months to set up my water account which I was paying for. Thames Water sent me several demands for payments.
When contacting them, you only get AI responses which are not helpful.
I tried to cancel my account after a year and it wasnt processed.
Overall really poor

TheBunch avoids my queries about water…

TheBunch avoids my queries about water consumption and have not released my statement yet, despite requesting it many times. They increased my bill after a few months due to “excessive water usage “ or a suspected leak. Nothing of the sort happened at all, as verified by our plumber.
Avoid.

I used Bunch for a 12-month fixed-term…

I used Bunch for a 12-month fixed-term package covering electricity, gas and water. The contract was due to end on 31 July 2026.

More than six weeks before the end date, I completed Bunch’s End of Contract Form and also confirmed in writing that I did not want to renew or extend the agreement. I explicitly asked for all Bunch-managed utility services to end on 31 July and for the accounts to be transferred into my own name.

Bunch then confirmed in writing that my account would close on 31 July 2026, that there would be no renewal or extension, and specifically stated that electricity, gas and water would all end on that date.

Despite this, after the contract had ended Bunch continued a separate water account and created a new payment schedule of £104.75 per month for six months. No money was ultimately taken, but I had to contact Bunch repeatedly and raise a formal complaint to get the account closed and the payment instructions removed.

What was particularly frustrating was that, during the complaint process, Bunch stated that they could not see any formal request from me to cancel the utilities and suggested that the water account remained active because no cancellation had been submitted.

This was simply inconsistent with their own written correspondence. I had submitted the End of Contract request in June, and Bunch had themselves confirmed that electricity, gas and water would all end on 31 July.

I also later received a cancellation confirmation saying that the cancellation had been made “outside of the 14-day cooling-off period”. Again, this was not an early cancellation. It was the normal expiry of a fixed-term contract which I had clearly told them I would not renew.

To Bunch’s credit, once the complaint was escalated they eventually closed the water account, confirmed that no payments had been taken, removed the future payment instructions and processed the credit balance from my final statement.

The final statement showed that Bunch owed me £526.67, and I can confirm that the full refund has now been received.

The main problem was therefore not the final financial outcome, but the amount of unnecessary correspondence required to correct issues that should never have occurred.

Customers ending a contract should not have to prove to a company that they submitted an end-of-contract request when the company has already acknowledged and confirmed that request in writing.

The issue was eventually resolved, but based on my experience I would not use Bunch again.

I wish I could give zero but I don’t…

I wish I could give zero but I don’t recommend at all it’s been months now trying to resolve my water bill which they first claimed I owed which it was noted they had the wrong address with Thames water. Been trying to get the closing bill since June with refund as I’ve been paying way more than expected.

2 months in a row they took money when the account should be on hold contacted Thames water myself and they noted it doesn’t take two months to confirm a final bill. Tried calling the colleague assigned to the case who seems to always be in a meeting and been told I would get a response repeatedly still nothing.

Raised a complaint and they closed the complain when the issue is still ongoing getting repeated Ai response remail

Completely useless company

Completely useless company. Terrible internal communication, have to call/email several times every time there is a problem. Very disorganised. Very difficult to talk to anyone. Poor value for money, at lot more complicated than just setting up your utilities yourself. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.

This company is an absolute nightmare…

This company is an absolute nightmare and I would strongly advise anyone to stay away.

My university housemates and I set up our package with Bunch in mid-July. As the lead tenant, I asked Bunch to email my housemates so they could set up their own accounts. It took around five emails before I even received a response, and then another couple weeks for the accounts to actually be sorted.

We are now trying to make our payments, but the system keeps saying there are insufficient funds, despite this not being the case. All of us have tried repeatedly to contact Bunch by email and phone, but we have received no useful help. We have now been told we have until the end of today to make the payments or our water service will be cancelled.

Even worse, we have each been charged an additional £100 late fee, despite the reason we cannot make the payment being an issue with Bunch’s payment system. It is completely unacceptable to charge customers a penalty for a problem that is not their fault.

The internet service has been just as bad. When we signed up, the WiFi box arrived and I received an email saying an engineer would attend within the next few days, although no specific date or time was provided. We were warned that if we missed the appointment, we could be charged another £100. The engineer never even turned up, and it took approximately a month before our WiFi actually started working.

The communication, customer service and overall service have been appalling from start to finish. We have repeatedly tried to resolve these issues and have been left chasing Bunch with little to no response.

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with this company. I will be taking this further, including considering a Small Claims Court claim, if Bunch does not resolve these issues, refund the inappropriate charges and provide an adequate explanation for what has happened.

Avoid this company if you can.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. It is impossible to get into contact with anyone from Bunch after they’ve sold a package to you. They have entirely ignored my cancellation email (which i wrote after finding out they they were charging me double the direct rate for wifi, water and electricity), 2 weeks later they are sending packages to my flat (which i haven’t even moved into yet) and still arranging wifi installation appointments, they have entirely ignored my cancellation and have kept harassing me constantly. I would give 0 stars if i could. A service like this might be handy as a student in a house share with multiple people. but if not AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! They will try to steal from you and will ignore all communication attempts you make.
