Delay in credit refund at the end of contract, but after a quick call, Manny and the team sorting this for me straight away. Appreciate good customer service

About Bunch
Written by the company
Using innovative technology we are able to simplify people’s everyday lives by bunching ordinary, household bills into one platform and one monthly predictable bill.
We have created a selection of personalised packages to suit our differing customer needs. Meaning we’re able to help all our customers from students, to renters to homeowners.
Through our easy-to-use platform, customers are able to pick and choose what products they want to bunch into their package with options such as energy, super-fast broadband, water, contents insurance and lots more.
If our customers want to split their bills with other bill-payers they are able to do so (whether that be housemates or a partner). This allows our customers to have individual, personal liability and stops them being affected if others in the household have issues making payments. This helps to protect our customers and ultimately remove another layer of bill stress.
It’s important to us that our customers spend less time dealing with the hassle of bills and more time doing what they love. So at Bunch, we do all we can to make managing household finances easy.

Don't ever make a mistake to use this…
Don't ever make a mistake to use this company. Absolutely terrible company, awful customer service experience. Tried to steal from me, I had to block them out of my bank account. Suddenly Ridiculous fees showed up from no where even though I showed them with bank statements my proof of payments. They went ahead to give me a county court judgement saying am owing them. This is the worst company and experience I have ever had in my entire life.
Very good and helpful
Good concept, but poor value and extremely frustrating customer service
Honestly, I don’t think Bunch is worth it unless you are living in a large shared house with four or more people.
The concept itself is very good. Having separate accounts for each housemate and being responsible for your own share of the bills makes things much easier and avoids arguments about people not paying. That part of the service has genuinely been useful.
However, for just two of us, the convenience has not justified the cost. The tariffs are very high and, over the course of the year, we ended up paying around £700 more than we expected based on our actual usage and final reconciliation.
The biggest issue, though, has been the customer service. Communication is incredibly difficult. Emails often take a long time to receive a response, and when someone does reply, it is usually a different person each time who doesn’t fully answer the question. Calling isn’t much better — it can take ages to get through, only to be told that your query will be passed on to the relevant team. In our experience, that often meant having to chase again ourselves.
We also had a major issue setting up our water account with Thames Water. It took around three months to get sorted. Eventually, I contacted Thames Water myself to find out what was happening and discovered that Bunch had sent a request which required us to approve something, but this had never been properly communicated to us. Had I not contacted Thames Water directly, I have no idea how much longer it would have taken.
The end-of-contract process has been just as slow. It took Bunch around a month after our contract ended to send us our final statement. We are now in credit and owed money back, but the email says it can take another month for that money to be returned. So potentially two months from the end of the contract before receiving money that is owed back to us.
Overall, I really like the idea behind Bunch, and I can see how it could be useful for a large student house where splitting bills between several people is difficult. But for a two-person household, I wouldn’t use it again. The high tariffs, slow communication and constant need to chase things yourself outweigh the convenience.

DO NOT USE
DO NOT USE
After not renewing my contract I have received emails to say I owe £89 for 6 payments starting on the 1st of September. Since this, I have logged in and found they have renewed my contract for 1st August 2026 to 2027 with a parallel account with my same address even though I have explicitly said I DO NOT WANT TO RENEW!! This seems to be a total misuse of GDPR due to them using my information to create a contract that I have had no say in and am oblivious too. Furthermore, when it came to find new suppliers, they refused the switch as I have a balance of £128 that they have confirmed I do not owe, which is still on my account! I try and try and get in contact with them, but they always send emails when their phone lines close for the day! Total inability to get through means that if you have a problem its so difficult to get it resolved which is why did not renew in the first place.
Avoid at all costs - the worst customer service I have ever received
If I could rate this company 0 stars I absolutely would.
The Bunch have caused me no end of stress over the last 2 years I have been with them and the impact on my mental health has been profound because of the stress, anxiety and confusion they have caused.
I have been told that I was due a refund, then to be told that’s not happening and I actually OWE money, to multiple payments being taken out of my bank without my consent and then refusing to give me a refund with no explanation as to why the money was taken, to a final bill being hundreds of pounds (which they don’t tell you is a £198 cancellation fee!) I am trying to close my account and they confuse you with talks about first and second contracts - that’s if you even get to speak to anyone over the phone after being on hold for hours! Email responses are just as bad with nobody replying for WEEKS on end. I am trying to set up a payment plan to pay off my bill and I’ve chased four times and still no response.
I honestly have never had such poor customer service - poor doesn’t even do it justice to how bad it is. For your own sake please just stay away and use someone else!

Bunch has made everything far more…
Bunch has made everything far more complicated
Bunch is supposed to make managing your bills “a whole lot simpler”, but my experience has been the complete opposite.
My broadband was suddenly disconnected with no warning whatsoever. Bunch’s own website states that customers will receive an email 42 days before their contract ends, including renewal instructions and details of their options. I received none of this. I only discovered my broadband had been disconnected when I came home to find I had no Wi-Fi.
I then booked a callback for 3pm on Monday 24 August to try and resolve the situation. I waited the full 15 minutes for the call — and nobody called. No explanation, no apology, nothing.
Both my partner and I work full-time from home, so this has had a real impact. We have had to purchase additional mobile data simply to be able to work, creating unnecessary expense, disruption and stress that could have been completely avoided with basic communication and customer service.
The irony is that Bunch claims to make bills simpler, yet this experience has done the complete opposite. What should have been a straightforward contract renewal has resulted in a disconnected broadband service, additional costs, wasted time and an incredibly frustrating customer service experience.
I’m now waiting for instructions to return the router and have no intention of continuing as a customer.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend Bunch at all. I would strongly advise anyone considering using them to think twice.

The worst ever company to deal with!
The worst ever company to deal with!!
After being with them for almost 3 years, we discovered that we are in debt to the British gas company for £3270 while been charged monthly for our electricity bills by Bunch, and this after discovering that they had registered us to a wrong apartment and they said that they had corrected this and sorted it out and then they mentioned that it's the British gas company that was refusing our address transfer to our actual address, they never mentioned that they were not paying our bills and that they made us in debt of this fortune while charging us regularly since April 2024!!!!!
What a mess to deal with and where had our money gone?!! we don't actually know!!!! How have we been charged monthly with debit card by Bunch to find out now that our bills had never been paid by them for the past 2 years!!! How is that even possible??
And now no one to reach out to or to be able to speak with, every enquiry takes ages to respond if they ever do, please stay away from this company and don't waste your time with them!!

0 stars would be generous for this scam company
If I could give this company 0 stars, I would.
We have had nothing but problems with them, for over 18 months. You spend hours on hold trying to speak to ANYONE, and their email responses are mostly AI garbage, going round in circles until you’re at the end of your rope.
When they ‘renewed’ our contract after our first year, they didn’t actually renew it, they opened an entirely new account parallel to our main account (which we were not aware of, and couldn’t see any evidence of on the online portal, so had no idea it existed). We started getting threatening ‘outstanding payment’ emails, despite paying our bills on time every month. The email ‘support’ was entirely useless. When we eventually got through to a human after literally days of waiting on hold for 1.5 hours+ until it cut us off (three days on the run), they had no idea why we were getting the emails, and told us they’ve ’investigate it’. They said it was an error, and not to worry as our accounts were paid up to date.
The next month, another email. And again, days on end trying to contact someone at this incompetent waste of time company.
They tried to fob us off yet again, claiming it was an error.
The third time it happened, I was not ending the phone call until someone explained what was actually going on, because at that point the emails were threatening legal action…for ‘unpaid’ bills that were fully paid!!!
One staff member called Lucie was the only one who finally did her job and escalated the issues to her manager etc. They then discovered THEIR massive error of opening a second, hidden account that only they could actually see existed. They supposedly closed that, and by this point we were transferring our business to Octopus (who have been a million times better, and entirely more competent from the beginning than The Useless Bunch).
They tried on multiple occasions to block our transfer over to Octopus. Not only did they not have the decency to wipe out the ‘admin charges’ and bogus cancellation charges they were trying to add on to our final bill, but they’ve now started trying to pull the same nonsense again, sending outstanding payment emails, which again, aren’t showing up on the portal.
We blessedly switched away from them at the start of this year, yet they’re still trying to extort money out of us.
I attempted to go to the Energy Ombudsman about this scam company, but because they don’t actually supply the energy themselves, it was a dead end. They sit in a grey area, essentially ungovernable, and able to pull whatever scam tactics they want to extort money out of you, even after you think you’ve escaped their nonsense.
I’m once again sat on hold, having to deal with them yet again, to resolve their endless issues stemming from their own incompetence and errors. And since the Energy Ombudsman can’t do anything about them, our next step is getting in touch with Watchdog and a contact at the BBC. And we will take them to court, if it comes to that.
No one should have to put up with the stress and incompetence of this company. Steer as far clear of them as you can. The nightmare never seems to end with them!!!

If I could give them zero stars that would be generous! They have repeatedly taken money from my credit card without my permission. I have to chase them to get my money back. My daughter left her student rental property 2 years ago and still they didn’t close the account. Kept harassing her even though we didn’t owe them any money. I had to intervene as they were incredibly rude and dismissive of her when she called them.
Avoid at all costs as they are awful and that’s an understatement

Just terrible
Just terrible.
Please don’t use the Bunch, there energy prices are definetly higher then if you find your own like octopus etc. They take so long to set up utilities that I was getting harassed by the water company and ended up having to pay them directly.
The customer service is so poor, it’s so difficult to speak to anyone due to their small open hours, and then when you get through they tell you to email anyway and they can’t help. They take so long if ever to reply to emails.
Beware of trying to cancel your contract with them will also take a hell of a lot of effort.

Cameron The Legend!
Cameron Barret at The Bunch was absolutely brilliant. Genuinely one of the most helpful people I’ve dealt with. He was patient, knowledgeable, friendly and went above and beyond to make everything easy for me. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and he made the whole experience stress-free from start to finish. An absolute credit to The Bunch. Give this man a raise!
