Perfect service ! we were in a very difficult situation with requiring 2 carpets for our daughter urgently. They were fast within our price range and the Carpet fitters were lovely, no intimidated by our dogs, 1 of which is large! And to top it off they supported with a very heavy wardrobe back into the room. Amazing Services- 5 Star, will definitely return.

I hired The Carpet Stop (Bulwell) to fit vinyl in my lounge, kitchen and hallway. I was genuinely excited. Like most first-time homeowners, I had saved up, planned everything and imagined how beautiful my home would look once the flooring was finished.
Instead, the experience became a nightmare that lasted more than six months.
From the beginning, there were problems. Staff gave poor advice and mismeasured the space. Appointments were missed or rearranged at the last minute. Fitters arrived unprepared and different staff kept giving different explanations every time I asked for help. Every visit felt like another excuse.
When the vinyl was finally installed, the quality was shocking. The screeding was uneven. The floor had bumps. The vinyl was full of air bubbles, with rough and messy cuts around the edges. The sealant was left incomplete and the fitters even told me to buy my own sealant and finish it myself. Even the door bars were left unfinished or badly installed.
I kept calling, messaging and visiting the shop. I asked for updates and solutions, but all I received were vague answers, broken promises and long delays. I waited weeks for simple replies. Nobody seemed willing to take responsibility and I felt completely ignored.
Eventually, I realised that if I wanted proper answers, I had to find them myself. I hired an independent flooring assessor, Mr. SD, a professional with decades of experience. He inspected everything carefully and wrote a detailed report. His findings were clear: the work carried out by Carpet Stop did not meet industry standards (BS 8203:2017). The installation was substandard and would have voided the manufacturer’s warranty. The whole job needed to be redone.
To be sure, I also contacted two other flooring companies. Both confirmed the same thing. The work was not done properly and the entire installation had to be replaced.
After months of stress and feeling like my concerns were not taken seriously, I finally took the case through my bank using Section 75. Only then did things start moving forward.
This whole experience has taught me a lot. I have learned to stand up for myself, even when the process is tiring. I have learned the importance of keeping every photo, message and receipt. I have learned not to let anyone make me feel like I am overreacting when I am simply asking for the service I paid for. And most importantly, I have learned that you should never be afraid to escalate things when you are not being treated fairly.
I am sharing this because I do not want anyone else to go through what I did. If you are considering getting flooring work done by Carpet Stop Bulwell, please be careful. Ask questions, get things in writing and do not ignore red flags.
Your home should be a place of comfort, not stress. No one should have to fight this hard just to get basic workmanship done properly.

Incredible service by The Carpet Stop Derby. On first visit the sales team were helpful but not pushy. We explained we needed a carpet fitting quickly and so they sent out someone to measure up within the hour. We had an awkward shaped attic room that needed carpeting and the fitters did an incredible job, and a join they had to put in can't even be seen.

We first used The Carpet Stop when we moved into our new home, and they were fantastic from start to finish. The team made everything so easy — from helping us choose the perfect carpets in-store to arranging fitting around our move-in date. The fitters were punctual, polite, and clearly take real pride in their work — the finish was absolutely flawless.

We were so impressed that we recommended them to both my parents and my brother, and they’ve since had their properties fitted too. Each time, the service has been consistent — friendly staff, great prices, and top-quality carpets that completely transform the rooms.

Carpetstop – Terrible Experience!
Location: Carpetstop, Osmaston Road, Derby

Carpetstop is the worst place to get any flooring done. They completely ripped us off! Their fitters did a terrible job — they messed up the vinyl in our toilet, broke a tile, and didn’t even fit the vinyl properly. It started coming up the same day they installed it.

When we contacted them with clear proof — photos and videos from the same day — they denied everything. Their customer service is awful, took forever to respond, and even after seeing the evidence, they refused to fix their mistakes. Instead, they asked for more money to repair the mess their own fitters caused.

The whole experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and a complete waste of money. Their fitters are careless, and the company doesn’t take responsibility for their work. Avoid Carpetstop on Osmaston Road, Derby at all costs!

Purchased laminate flooring and had it fitted. Great price, really good customer service, phone when they said, communication great. Tradesman who fitted floor was brilliant, clean, tidy work - great finish. Have been using these guys for years, will continue to do so and would defiantly recommend.

We were able to look around the shop without beng hassled when we asked for info we were given it and advised everything was explained to us very pleasant experience when the carpet was fitted we kept informed and they rang before they came was fitted well would highly recommend

Have used Horninglow shop previously and have found them to be extremely helpful, without any pressure whatsoever to purchase. Carpet we bought recently was exactly what we wanted at a very reasonable price, and was fitted a few days later by a very able and friendly individual. I highly recommend this particular shop.

I’ve just had vynil flooring laid and it looks amazing I’m so happy it has been great from choosing the vynil ,I had a lovely man at the store help me ,to having it fitted today really easy ,I will certainly use them in the future ,it’s such great quality and so reasonable,

A fab carpet shop - the showroom was larger than we expected and had a good choice of carpets, it also had an ample selection of laminate flooring and vinyl too. The lady in the shop was friendly and incredibly helpful, but without being too pushy. She matched the quote we’d had from another shop and also included better underlay. What’s more, they were able to fit it within a week! The fitters were really nice chaps and did a great job in record time, causing no damage to skirting boards and they tidied up after themselves. We definitely won’t hesitate to use Carpet Stop again and highly recommend them.

We returned to The Carpet Stop for our latest project, having used their services several times over the last 6-7 years for carpets, laminates and vinyl. Needless to say, from start to finish everything was just perfect - free measuring service, assistance and advice in-store, great products reasonably priced, delivered on time, fitted really well by polite, clean and courteous professionals.
