Top notch

Plenty of online demos from the company themselves, and from independent YouTube channels, so I knew what I was getting when I downloaded.

Price was reasonable, with an introductory discount.

Support has been first-class, even for their freely given away products.

Highly recommend this small, independent company. and their YouTube channel

Great instruments, great service!

I have bought the majority of The Crow Hill Company libraries and have to admit, I've had absolutely no problem with them.

Installation is very easy through their app.

I required customer service and they were kind, courteous and sorted my issue out within 24 hours (I paid using the wrong currency!).

Quite frankly, one of the customer experiences I have had!

Crowhill are n interesting company who…

This review is pre the solution offered by crowhill and I now happy to update this review.

Crowhill are an interesting company who have got one thing absolutely 100% right and that is marketing. Thier videos are superbly produced and the whole music philosophy thing they have going on is really bang on. You buy into the people and the company philosophy first, not necessarily the products themselves.
In truth, and with the exception of one of thier products - Vertical piano, which in my opinion is almost great (desperately needs a save feature Why is that so difficult!?), the other products are from okay to just okay. I would also contest, certainly in the case of thier new GLASS product, that what you hear on the excellent promo video, ain't what you get in reality, sound wise it's just okay and Spitfire are way way ahead, as are many others. On top of that, the Crowhill installer app can be a nightmare and recently caused me a lot of time consuming, creative sapping problems. One of its more minor standard huge probems is it takes an absolute age. It goes down hill from there. Then there's the slow awkward support system, automated and Human. Decent enough people, but not helpful to me and painfully slow.
I have virtually all the Crowhill products, all purchased based on the videos, as mentioned above, and all, with the exception of the almost right Vertical are pretty disappointing.

There's way better products out there in my opinion, Crowhill aren't there yet and certainly not for the money they are charging. Recommendation - Vertical (needs a save button, but it's great sound). The rest, don't waste your time or money unless you specifically and really need something quirky, but remember how many others will have that same quirk in their music.

The above has since been rectified.

Unfortunately

Unfortunately, both the installation app and activation system are awful. I installed a new computer and spent an hour trying to get the app to install and download. I keep getting connection errors, and then the app freezes. To make matters worse, after installing, I cannot activate because your activation system is uncontrollable. I can't log into the website due to errors in the signup and sign-in forms, which are not visible I've wasted so much time that I will never get back! Such a disappointment. I will never buy again!

Good products, friendly staff, worth supporting

I always judge brands by how they treat or mistreat clientele when not on camera / in front of people: the customer service/sales teams and corporate staff, if applicable. The Crow Hill Company provides great, helpful, human customer service when you need to ask questions.

Crow Hill offers some products at very affordable price points with great value, like the synths. Their more expensive strings choices do sound great. The free giveaways are fun surprises.

You get the feeling that Christian Henson the co-founder is slowly remaking a Spitfire Audio 2.0 for more reasonable pricing than its predecessor, and if such is the case, I welcome it. Many people are afraid of going into the music industry because of the expenses incurred and how unwelcoming it can be. I'll be honest, I did not have high hopes for reworking things because lots of instruments have been done before, hey I try lots of these music products from other companies often and am not impressed, but it is done very nicely and with that very lovely less is more subtlety where you don't need to be gimmicky because the product can sell itself by sounding good. Much like how if you are a real musician/composer or actor/actress, you don't need to resort to bad PR stunts or wearing tacky stuff at events/on tour because your talent, the music or film you are selling, is so good.

Crow Hill is freshly founded. I hope things continue remaining personable as time continues and the company grows, with good quality, and for as long as they retain all of this, I will be a customer. Lots of fanboy raved about rival music software companies lack the customer service factor and bang for your buck that Crow Hill has where you almost wonder how they stay in business. I often do not write negative reviews about places where I feel service is a solid D or F, but I try hard to say nice things about music companies that do make the mark, and Crow Hill is one. :) Please continue having low £10-£49 and mid range prices for things like action film drums, well mid compared to $500-900 kits on the market, price points so all music needs shoppers are welcome because you are just doing it right at the moment and will stay in business forever if you keep it up!
