First complaint is the way they conduct their business. Every other company to which I have a repeat delivery such as Chewy, Walmart, IHerb, Earthing Co.. and so on, message you in advance to make any changes. I had a heck of a time getting my dogs adjusted to the change therefore needed to change the delivery date. My dogs do not do well with grains and I didn't realize the first order had grains. Second order I was able to make sure to opt out of grains. It was piling up so I changed delivery date and instead of starting over from that point which every single other company does... they shipped the new delivery date plus the old one without confirming order. I was overdrawn on my account because of this and I keep a tight budget even checking my account at least 2 times a day. I messaged them and instead of compensating me or making it right in any way they just dismissed the fact they shipped a double order back to back disregarding my overdraft. When you change a delivery date that should be it. It should recalculate from that point moving forward. Not ship that one plus the old delivery date. That doesn't even make sense. In addition they ought to send you a notification ahead of schedule to make any changes. All other auto deliveries I have practice this. For this reason alone I wanted to cancel. But I put so much effort into changing their food I was just going to let it go. But now, one dog still doesn't care for it but it's all she has so she will eat it because there is no choice. But my biggest concern is my best eater who never complains is now not eating this food after she seems to have developed a pancreatic upset. She is vomiting and had loose stools. I'm so over this company. I have to go back to cooking my dogs food fresh every single day which is what I was trying to not do. I love my dogs more than anything and they deserve the best health and love and I so wanted farmer's dog to be a part of their care but it turns out I am sorely disappointed.

I just received my 2nd box of Farmers Dog food. All of the labels were falling off of the product. When I called to complain they didn’t think it was a big deal. I tied to get in touch with their Operations to give them some guidance about labels and freezer adhesives. I was VP of Operations for a world wide label company for over 40 years and have a lot of experience with this type of issue. I sent an email but no response.
After this I started looking at some of others experiences with them.
They are concerning, especially the pancreatic potential issues. I will no longer purchase product from them
Beware
As far as a supervisor getting back to me, that only happened because I asked to speak to a supervisor. His name was Diego and was the supervisor for the customer service rep that I talked to regarding my issue.
Diego was of no help and I have not heard from anyone else since speaking to him
I asked to put all of my future orders on hold today as well as a refund on my 2nd shipment with the defective labels. That is being processed according to information I received.
The responses you and Diego have given lack substance.

I have been very satisfied up until the most recent shipments. The previous shipment was cutting it close to running out of Food. This shipment that should have arrive on earlier in the week will not arrive until 10pm tonight. I am out of town and will not be able to receive when it arrives. Which means $270 will be thrown out and have no food for my dog. I will be canceling.

Here's a polished version of your review:
> We have had a wonderful experience with Farmer's Dog! Our dog absolutely loves the food and gets excited for every meal. One of our main goals was to help her lose weight because she was significantly overweight, and this food has been a great part of that journey.
>
> Not only does she enjoy every bite, but we've also been impressed with the company's outstanding customer service. We had an unfortunate situation where a large portion of her food thawed unexpectedly, and Farmer's Dog responded quickly and made sure we received replacement food right away.
>
> Their team has been incredibly responsive, helpful, and easy to work with. Between the quality of the food and the exceptional customer care, I highly recommend Farmer's Dog to anyone who wants the very best for their dog.
**Shorter version:**
> We have had a fantastic experience with Farmer's Dog. Our dog loves the food and looks forward to every meal. We started using it to help her lose weight, and it's been a great fit for her. When we had an issue with some of her food thawing due to a freezer issue, their customer service team was amazing and quickly helped us get replacement food. Excellent product, outstanding customer service, and a company that truly cares about pets. Highly recommend! 🐾❤️

When we got our pup we wanted him to have the best food possible and after comparing prices and testimonies on food quality we decided to try the farmers dog. He loved the food and wolfed it down for both his breakfast and dinner. They delivered the food to our door frozen with dry ice to ensure that it stayed frozen. We signed up for text messages and they let us know in the morning of the day we would be receiving our food and then messaged us again upon dropping it off. Unfortunately he showed signs of food allergies and our vet has put him on a hydrolyzed diet. I thought that I had canceled his plan so I was very surprised this morning when I got a text notification informing me that we were getting our farmers dog delivery. I called them and talked to them about canceling our plan and they set up a refund for me, the food though still got delivered. I called them and they confirmed that the refund had been put in but they were not able to take the food back, only asking that I give it to a neighbor, friend, or animal shelter. I will update this if I don't receive a refund but from my current perspective I could have asked nothing more of the farmers dog, everyone I talked to was absolutely fantastic and really seems to stand behind wanting to put the dogs first.

First of all.. just want to say we had a great experience. The staff were lovely. And great service throughout.
We had the Sunday dinner menu as was the only option.. and were excited as we thought it would be great. Had heard good things.
Unfortunately we were disappointed.
It wasn’t great.
We had the double roast.
Food arrived fast.. but Luke warm.. pork was dry.. then once we asked was told no pork cracking as they had ran out. This was at 3.45 (still had the evening to go) we were given free desserts. But doesn’t take from what we expected in the roast dinner.
Will still return, but maybe for a pizza as they looked amazing. 🤩
I have two bulldogs. One that can have grains and one that cannot. A 36 lb Frenchie and a 70 lb English bulldog. I’ve ordered a few times. The dogs enjoy the food. My last shipment the labels were wrong. Not only were the labels wrong for each dog, I soon realized some said chicken and they were clearly beef. I reached out. I took pictures, pealed back the label as requested. Then received an email telling me to “go on ahead and switch the labels to the correct bag.” What should have happened was your company should have offered to pay for shipping to take this entire order back, and send a new order. If you had the bag back maybe you could scan it and see who didn’t label the correct dog or the correct food and provide some education to that employee. There are so many of these companies to choose from. Telling me to switch the labels was not the outcome I was looking for, nor is it an indicator or high business standards. One dog cannot have grains.

We were referred by a friend who raved about the food and service. We started out okay however after the 3rd delivery we started having issues with labels missing (we have 2 dogs - one large and one small). I reported it and was advised they would pass it on with instructions on how to read the code on the food. Next shipment same problem, told this is unusual and it would be reported. Fast forward to the past three shipments. Boxes arrived with smashed corners, open top and exposed dry ice. I was told not to worry the food was still good. The customer service support team simply read from a script and for the cost of feeding 2 dogs (over $500 per month) I would expect greater concern on their shipping issues. The box arrived yesterday with the bottom ripped open and we tossed most of the food as we did not feel comfortable with the exposure of the food.
This morning I canceled and will move to making the food myself. Such a disappointment that their service, delivery and product support get an F. I realize things happen ocassionally however this many times is unacceptable.

My vet recently told me that the fat content is too high so I shouldn’t use it anymore. My personal opinion is it is too watered down and smells terrible.

It’s MUSH!
The good might be natural but it’s mushy and I don’t want to feed my dog baby food… I tried to give it to her and she doesn’t like it. I have a husky I think we need some chunky food. This is strange …. Def not like the pics

The customer service and service in general is awful, but my dog does enjoy the food so we will stick with it for a while. Customer service reps deny simple requests, but it turns out you can make a lot of of the changes on the website yourself. In addition, something was left out of my order and I was told it would ship the next time, but it was never added to the order. We will see how it goes.

The Farmer's Dog company has excellent natural, healthy food for dogs. I liked reading about their journey into creating the product. It was very disheartening to read about what really goes into off the shelf dog food. It was a wake up call, for sure!
They take into consideration your dog's weight, breed, activity level and other factors to determine the daily amount that your dog needs nutritionally. The give you instructions on how to transition from your dog's current food to their new food.
Their customer service is top notch. They answer all your questions in a timely manner and are very supportive of your dog's health journey. I would definitely recommend their product to anyone who wants to make sure their dog eats well so their humans can have them around for a long time.
I didn't have any trouble transitioning my dog to TFD food. She is not a picky eater and she loves all the flavors. My dog Daisy also loves the Snap Sticks treats. I get orders every 2 weeks instead of 4 because of freezer storage space. However, you can save money by ordering monthly.
You can't go wrong with The Farmer's Dog!

I didn't have any issues until 2026, something in their billing system changed and I started receiving shipments I did not order. Then in April, they charged my account and I received an order. But, then a week later, they charged my account for an order I did not request or receive. I called them, and they insisted I did place an order and that it was delivered to me, it was NOT. Fast forward to May, the same issue again, I received an order, but they charged my card again so this time I received a double order. They double billed ne for April and May, when I called to hopefully resolve this issue, their representatives were rude and unhelpful. I have canceled this account, it's a shame because my dog liked this food but I refuse to deal with a company I can't trust. They are double billing senior citizens and people with families who can't afford this double billing. With the way I was treated, I will never again consider referring anyone to your business again, delete my account and do not contact me ever again.

FYI-I'M IN THE TOP 20% OF GOOGLE REVIEWS. THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON FACT WITH MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
UPDATE: Farmer's dog has reached out to me and they are refunding not only the cancellation subscription fee that I mentioned in this review but also my original order. They also said they were going to look into the situation on why I was charged and why I wasn't canceled when I requested.
Lesson learned on subscriptions with companies be careful and be aware.
UPDATE ON REPLY FROM FARMER'S DOG: thank you for reaching out and replying I just wanted you to know that I did read and reply and I appreciate it and I hope the readers will take all of this into consideration! Sorry it didn't work out.
SUBSCRIBERS BEWARE
On June 2nd I canceled my subscription & this morning, June 6, I woke up and there was a charge from them for my subscription.
Since I canceled they do not have my permission to charge my bank account and that is fraud. I looked this up before I used the term fraud and if a business charges your account after you have documentation that you canceled their subscription & documentation they accepted your cancellation, then that is a form of fraud.
I would be happy to post a screenshot of the documented request for cancellation and the documented reply of my subscription was canceled, on this platform if asked.

As a Pet Rescuer, Pet Educator and Published Author of a Pet Rescue/Responsible Pet Ownership book, I am an AVID animal lover. I LOVE your commercial with the song "What the World Needs Now". We need MORE of that, no sales, no hurry, just people loving their pets!!
My dog really liked the 1st sample of the farmers dog and the 2nd shipment. Then when the 3rd arrived the pouches were not frozen, she would not take a single bite. I called customer service and they resent the shipment. Again she would not eat it. I dont know why, but something was wrong. It was way too much trouble anyway and would have been extremely difficult to travel with her. I would not recommend.

Beware of their promotional offers!! I signed up and they calculated how much it would cost after the promotional period. Not only was the cost more than $30 more than they said, but they charged me full price after the second shipment (the offer was for discounted price for 3 shipments).
And the food is very fatty. It's hard to get out of the plastic. I'm not a fan.

We have been feeding our dog Koda, Farmers dog for the past couple years. Unfortunately, two weeks ago he passed away, just shy of his 16th birthday. We had him since he was four months old so it was a devastating loss for our family. We had just ordered his next box of food so my daughter called Farmers dog to cancel the next orders. They so generously credited us back all the packets he had not eaten and said for us to donate them. We we’re so surprised and touched by that generous offer, so understanding and considerate of what we had just gone through. Several days later, a package showed up on our door. It was a beautiful plant and when we opened the card, it was from Farmers dog sending condolences on the loss of our family member. I was so deeply touched and impressed with this company. Instead of being upset that they were no longer going to have the revenue of a customer, they knew the grief we were going through and truly were compassionate . What a refreshing way for a company to operate. In this day and age,it is so rare and truly amazing! Thank you for not taking care of our dog Koda for the past several years, but for taking care of our family during our time of grief.
Thank you, The Arellano Family

I’ve had my pup on the farmers dog food for about two years. At 12 years old, he still has a pep in his step and is keeping his weight steady. I have never had an issue with the farmers dog delivery. It’s always come on time and frozen solid. Unfortunately, this last delivery some of the food had defrosted. The customer service department was wonderful. They took care of this situation made sure we had plenty of food on hand and would not run out until a new order was processed. I can’t tell you how pleased I am that we switched from kibble to the farmers dog. it’s a little more expensive, but it is well worth it. kudos to the customer service reps.

Staff is totally unknowledgeable. It looks like they are taking information on your dogs and will tailor the package. Both my dogs have health issues. Both came back with the same recommendations (different only in quantity of food because of their weight and activity level) and if purchased would have made their health conditions worse. One was minor - a food allergy. The other would have caused her to have bladder stones requiring surgery. This was one of the health conditions I selected (oxalate stones) from their list and yet they still selected a high protein diet for her. High protein diets should be avoided in dogs with oxalate stones. I wrote back several times and they said that I can always change and tailor my selection of food and that their protein is high quality. Quality doesn’t matter; human grade doesn’t matter. High protein foods should not be given to dogs with oxalate stones or those prone to them. Never. They totally missed the point that they should never have recommended the food they did in the first place. After going back and forth with them 4 times, I decided I needed to write a review and let the world know that they mechanically crank out their recommendations without thought. If you think you are getting something tailored because they ask about health conditions, you are being fooled.
