BEWARE! The purchasing process is DELIBERATELY MISLEADING and requires a lengthy process to purchase. This results in you thinking you have only ordered a hardcover book (for a significant cost - $120!) but instead also subscribing to a website with no evidence of purchase until you are charged further fees every 14 days. NO INVOICE is provided so you cannot check your order and "subscription" ($48 per fortnight?!) is not to an app (which you could check and I did, as I was confused), but to a website, which is unable to be checked.
The book itself is also made of cheap paper and I did not find this useful (long before I discovered I was being charged additional fees!)
Please beware. This company is deliberately misleading in their processes and I would not like others to be burnt.

Too many offers in the beginning. Just want to try the book first. Almost turned away because it took too long to get to personal details

A little too much overkill on the oversell. But I am excited for me book.

I purchased the physical book with my name on it. Magically I was charged $30.99 as a subscription to a book. I reached out to dispute.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out with your question.
The $30.99 charge you received is for the Lasting Change app subscription, which is separate from your one-time book purchase made on January 20th. When you purchased the book, you also started a subscription for the companion app, which renews automatically each month unless canceled. This subscription provides ongoing access to the app's features and personalized support for your self-growth journey.
If you did not intend to continue with the app subscription, please let me know and I can assist you with canceling it to prevent future charges. Your book purchase remains unaffected and is a one-time payment.
If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
Best wishes,

Hello,
Thank you for your letter.
Please note that as per our Terms and Conditions, which you agreed to upon purchase, unless a subscription is cancelled, it renews automatically.
That said, all sales of digital products are final and non-refundable unless the product failed to be delivered due to a technical fault on our end.
Since the service was correctly provided, we are unable to issue you a refund.
Your subscription has been canceled and no further charges will ever occur. You may still use your plan until your current subscription ends.
Let us know if you have any further questions.

SCAM! Loved the idea and ordered the book. However buyer beware, they charge subscription which is not clear when you sign up for which is highly illegal. I have contacted my bank. Shame!

This company is a scam. I purchased the book and they have taken 2 payments from my bank since then and are refusing to refund the money. I didn’t even receive a payment confirmation when they took the money so I only realised when I checked my bank account. They said that when I purchased the book they signed me up for a monthly subscription, this was not stated clearly when I ordered the book. I have already emailed them requesting a refund and they have refused. Disgusting behaviour from a company that alleges to care about mental health.

There should be absolute clarity about there being an ongoing subscription when purchasing this book. It's very carefully disguised. I hate this type of underhanded activity with their hand in my back pocket taking my money without my authorisation. I've reached out to them but they will not refund it. It's made an otherwise good product, leave a bad taste.

PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!!!
I purchased this book as it looked interesting and I thought would be great to support my mental health. It was supposed to be personalised towards my interests but it wasn't, it was simply a copy of a book with the areas I'd ticked as my interests highlighted within the book. The only thing you are paying to be personalised is the name on the front, that is all. The paper inside is quite flimsy and although it does have content inside it, it is nothing better than what you buy a lot cheaper within prompt journals on Amazon. I thought I was paying around £24 for this book which it absolutely is not worth. However, I was charged £62.99 and I still don't know what for! I contacted support to ask what I was charged for and they wouldn't tell me. I spoke to a very unhelpful 'Jessica' who no matter what I asked her replied with a very abrupt and uncaring 'all sales are final' reply. Wouldn't even explain what the £62.99 had actually got me. I was then charged a further £24.59 for a subscription that I couldn't find how to cancel - no subscription on Apple or on the app, almost impossible unless you go around the app and contact support. An absolute scam! I expect they don't care as once you've fallen for it they will have got around £100 off most people so it doesn't matter if they lose you as a customer. Awful product, worth about £10, cost a fortune, extremely rude and unhelpful, uncaring staff, working in a field where they are advertising to support your mental health!! PLEASE AVOID AND SAVE YOURSELF STRESS AND FINANCIAL DIFFICULTLY!!

I ordered the book only on Dec '25. However, upon checking my credit card statement, I have noticed that I have been charged a monthly subscription for the App, which I did not request, want, need or have downloaded. Please be aware as this is very underhand and a scam on their part. Considering the book is about positive change, its very disappointing we are treated in this way by this scam.

I finally received the book I ordered in November on February 11, 2026.
Then this morning I’m balancing my checking account and what do you know, there are charges in late January and one pending charge today for 30.99 from Lasting Change. WTAF?!? I ordered a book from them, which by the way is very generic in the information it provides to help people make lasting changes. Heck, we all know we have habits that we fall into and do everyday. We all also know we can break those if we wanted to do so we don’t need a damn book to tell us to change our habits. Anyway, I digress. So I can’t find anywhere in The Lasting Change website to contact someone about these charges and how to receive a refund. From the reviews I’ve read this morning, that apparently would be me wasting my time and effort which I do not want to do, so I just contacted my bank directly and reported them as fraudulent and unauthorized charges and we’ll see what they can do about getting my money returned to me. This company is a scam and preys on people who want to do better in their lives. They prey on vulnerabilities and it’s disgusting they have ruined what could have been a good experience for a lot of individuals, if they had not also decided to scam them out of their money they have worked hard to obtain. All I’ll say is whoever runs this company and continues to scam people even after you charge an arm and leg for your generic books, DO BETTER, BE BETTER!!

Easy quick quiz with helpful questions to ensure a positive change. Would include better options with better deals for add-ons to order. Will update the review after receiving the order, and using the apps.

I don’t like add ins it should all be in the one price. Add ons are a way to trick you into spending more money.

Purchased the book which. I am happy with. Did not realise I was signing up to and app as well and didn't realise that until I was charged a monthly fee. I never downloaded or have used the app.
When I contacted them about it they refused to credit the amount saying that I had signed up.
The process is not clear and by all these other 1 star reviews others have had the same experience.
If there was more information about the app at sign up, people would be better informed rather than hide it in tiny print.
I Responded to the email of the response to this review. They were really unhelpful and continued with the same, from previous attempts to resolve the issue.
In the end I had to claim a refund through my financial provider. I also made a complaint through the ACCC. Which is the Australian government's consumer watchdog.
