Amazing, unexpectedly quick and stayed in contact through the whole process

I really did not think this was going to work. I specifically used them because they said they are a family company and made me trust them more.
Oh boy, They really delivered. I know they said that times can change depending on the company they need to get the unlock code from, but I did not expect them to get it to me sooner.
No hidden fees, no hidden catches.
Everything was above board.
I recommend, recommend, recommend.

Price, quality, service, pick two out of three

You know what they say: "price, quality, service, pick two out of three."

I bought a specialized 10-year-old phone, fabulous quality, excellent price. THEN I learned that its IMEI indicated that it had been manufactured locked under a contract. Not just anybody can unlock a phone like that. I picked Theunlockingcompany because they had a video about working with my model.

The service, though! The unlock time depends on the carrier, not Theunlockingcompany, to verify the IMEI and release it for unlocking. To be honest, unlocking my phone took three nerve-wracking weeks.

While I waited I learned that a) some special phones like mine can take up to 45 days and b) there are scammers who take your money and produce nothing. Theunlockingcompany kept me updated throughout. Still I had my doubts right up till I turned on my phone and saw missed calls and texts.

(Pro tip, once the IMEI is unlocked, your device swings right back into service even before Theunlockingcompany alerts you. No harm in turning it on and off a couple of times a day, just in case.)

Would I recommend getting a locked phone? No. Would I recommend working with Theunlockingcompany if you did? Yes

Poor Service, Don't Try It! Really don’t 🤣

Poor service. I waited 5 months and each time I had to email them for an update. I kept getting the same generic reply to my emails. Finally I sold the phone for one that was already unlocked. I requested a refund and that's when it got weird. I've exchanged several emails in order to get a refund. Still don't know when or if to expect that. I eventually contacted my credit card company for advice. I then looked the company up on the BBB (better business bureau) website. When I saw the grade of D- I knew why. Highly advise you NOT waste your time or money.

Let me make it absolutely clear, everything in this review is absolutely true! Now they are trying to use Trust pilot as a means to discredit me, and suddenly more information is needed to be collected on me to show the company that my review is ”genuine”

What a joke man. Do really think I have nothing better to do with my life? Makes no difference, this isn’t the only place a review has been left. And I still don’t have my refund. Hopefully it festers in your account, keep it! Trust pilot you are here for who again?

We provide full refunds to all customers once all options have been exhausted and provide receipts once the refund is processed, which if we stated we refunded you would have received that receipt along with an email that states it can take 4-15 business days to reflect on your account, which is unfortunately standard credit card refund time frames out of our control

Our company is also always willing to provide unlock eligibility for free before you order if you contact us the make, model, locked carrier and imei to sales@theunlockingcompany.com

Shady, tried to bill twice and didn't give me th unlock I wanted and locked phone out of updates and threatened if I didn't pay when I already had paid

Shady, Not clear, u won't get what you want, can't permanent unlock spectrum phone and you may get billed more than once even after you paid. Then no resolve to do what's right and fix after they claim they'll investigate it. I'm sure if I hear anything they'll side with their tech. Not to be trusted, why have a phone with 7 years of updates when you can't update it.

I made it clear I wanted a permanent unlock to sales that I was talking to that I'd just return the phone since they sent me the wrong one anyway (ebay). They said I would need to talk with the tech at the time of service for knowing it could be permanent unlocked. Get on with the tech, toldby tech I'm eligible for an unlock. Figured I spoke with sales that's what I want, thought it was permanent never told anything other than eligible. Tech starts working on it, during the process, I wanted to verify it was permanent he says no. I tell him then I don't want it. Tells me it's too late. Super pissed but they did the temp unlock, also locked the software so I can't update it, so mad about that wasn't told they would do that. Next day I'm seeing the invoice already pissed about it. Reluctantly, I pay, two days lol after they try to bill me again for the service claiming I didn't pay and threaten to take action.

Based on their reply, I have all the emails and the information provided that they claim they did. I even emailed them first to try to see if they could unlock. I clearly communicated at the time I could just return the phone but luckily the person I bought it from offered me a discount to unlock through their company. I connected with their tech, he did not communicate temp or permanent unlock and started, took more than hr, while doing it I asked about the permanent unlock, he said no I tried to cancel he said it was too late.

They claimed they wanted to make it right, they've never offered anything to make it right only a refund to try to get me to take the review down. So far they've only hacked themselves knowing I have all the emails and the lies, and the information from twlk with the tech I will be pursuing other avenues of reporting as they threatened me with when they tried to bill me again when I had already paid.

Hello Doug. Thank you for your detailed feedback, we understand your frustration and want to clarify what occurred as we send emails and we get notification "Email has been deleted by user" which has proven to be a problem for referencing important information to help you make the best decision for your situation.

We offered full refund and needed to relock the device, you did not want to proceed with that option, so you have an unlocked phone to use. If you would like that refund and for us to relock the phone you can contact sales@theunlockingcompany.com

We also allowed you to proceed with the service and pay after the unlock was completed, which is not standard practice and was done in good faith. We sincerely apologize for the duplicate invoice. Not all team members have access to our merchant system for security reasons, and we did not initially receive confirmation through email that the invoice had been paid. Once brought to our attention, we corrected this and removed you from any outstanding balance list.

Prior to starting the unlock process, we explained that there are typically two possible outcomes depending on eligibility:

A region unlock (allowing use with selected countries/carriers), or
A full permanent unlock (all carriers worldwide)

At the time of inquiry, we could not confirm which option your device qualified for. You were provided a way to connect directly with our technician to verify eligibility in real time, and the service proceeded based on that interaction.

Regarding the unlock type, eligibility is determined by the security patch and build number, not by us. Unfortunately, Samsung devices that do not prompt for unlock codes are well known in the industry for having limited or restricted permanent unlock availability, which is outside of any third-party control.

As for the update concern, Region unlock methods can require certain conditions to remain in place. This is not unique to our service and applies across the industry when permanent unlocks are not available. What is unique to our service is if the phone does relock you get it unlocked for FREE and when a permanent unlock is available you get that at no additional charge as well

We understand this was not the outcome you were hoping for, but at no point was there any intent to mislead. The options were explained, and the service was completed based on the eligibility available for your device.

WOW, WOW

Wow, I am so, so happy I got a Verizon iPhone that was locked and unlocked in a matter of 2 hrs. I am so impressed that guy that I messaged, Theo, unlocked the phone first and sent me an invoice to pay the next day, but I paid him immediately. I was so stressed, and they made it happen for me. I was literally in tears; my phone was stolen yesterday, and someone gave me a free phone. Thanks, unlocking company, for being a legit company. I am super grateful. We were then notified you already unlocked the device (which we could not confirm) we offered a partial refund for your order but never heard response. 3 month, no unlock. Avoid at all costs.

I bought Pixel 9 Pro XL outside the US and after updating it to the latest version phone got locked. I live outside the US so I couldnt unlock it directly with T-Mobile so I decided to go with Unlocking Company. I placed an order on 23th December 2025 and still got no result. I write to them and they reply that it takes time and whole team is working on my case and still we are here. 3 month has passed so if you want to use services for unlocking dont use Unlcokingcompany.com
P.S. They will never tell you the exact reason why they cant unlock your device and just feed you with promises. Unless you will write bad review and they have to finally be honest.
Also they offered full refund to me (no service provided) for taking down the review. They will not refund me untill I will take down the review.

Thank you for your feedback, and we understand how frustrating extended timeframes can be, especially in more complex cases like Blacklisted Google Pixel devices and trying to use them abroad

Refunds are not offered to blacklisted phones as agreed in the terms and conditions but we do work with customers (including yourself) to help find a fair resolution or keep order open to try and work on a solution for the non refundable device. As shown above if you want to make sure we can unlock before you order please contact sales@theunlockingcompany.com with your make, model, locked carrier and IMEI so we can check!

In situations such as yours, where the device is blackliisted or blocked both for both outside of the original carrier’s region, and overseas the process can become significantly more complex and often requires extended handling times beyond standard estimates. These types of unlocks rely heavily on carrier-side processing as well as changing IMEI distinctions, which unfortunately is not something any third party can expedite.

Your order has remained active, and our team has continued working through all available methods rather than closing it prematurely. We do not abandon orders, even when they require additional time and effort.

Hello they get back to me in a timely…

Hello they get back to me in a timely manner, but haven't unlock my phone. They have been trying for several weeks & want me to pay more & that will so called guarantee to get it unlocked. No thanks, and so I want a full refund but cannot get until they tried everything which they said after 45 days. After 45 days I can receive a full refund. This is what I'm currently going thru.
