⭐☆☆☆☆ Order Not Received – Breach of Contract and Unacceptable Conduct
I placed an order with Tile Universe on 10 April 2025 for 22 tiles, which I paid for in full. As I live in South East London and the store is located in Harrow, I declined the £60 delivery fee and confirmed I would arrange collection once I had access to transport.
Due to a family bereavement, I was unable to collect the goods immediately. On 14 October 2025, I contacted Tile Universe to arrange collection. I was informed that the order had allegedly been collected on 16 April 2025 — which is categorically untrue, as I was at home in South East London on that date, do not drive, and did not authorise anyone to collect on my behalf.
When I requested proof of collection (such as a signed collection note, CCTV footage, or record of the person who allegedly collected the goods), I was informed that Tile Universe has no such documentation, as “this is not their process.” This failure to confirm the identity of the collector constitutes a serious lapse in duty of care and a potential breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
During my conversation with staff, I was spoken to rudely, talked over, and had the phone put down on me, which I found deeply distressing and unprofessional. The company has since refused to issue a refund or conduct any further investigation.
I have now referred this matter to Citizens Advice, Trading Standards, and the Metropolitan Police, as I have paid for goods that I have never received.
This situation has caused significant emotional distress, particularly as I was grieving the loss of my mother at the time. I would strongly urge prospective customers to insist upon written proof of collection or delivery to avoid similar issues.
Your team did not try to help, you have no sign process, it does not matter how long ago I purchased them I have not picked them up, I want a refund, either way, you have no evidence go the collection other than you logging in on your system, I asked you to provide the signed confirmation. you refused to refund me or look into it further.

Unfortunately, as you contacted us over five months later, we no longer retain CCTV footage beyond the legally required period, and we must therefore rely on the collection record shown on our system.
While we fully respect your right to raise this with any relevant authorities, we hope you can appreciate that we are unable to accept responsibility for goods that were confirmed as collected from our warehouse.
Our team did their best to explain this situation clearly during our conversations, and we sincerely regret if this was perceived otherwise.
We wish you the very best going forward and hope this matter can be resolved to your satisfaction.
