3rd time we’ve used Toad Hall and each time they been helpful and availabile when needed. Great coverage in an area of the country we love returning to.

From 27th June to 11th July.
This is our 3rd fortnightly stay within 4 or 5 years at No.11 Bolt Head so i think that speaks volumes. The cleanliness of the place is outstanding and there's always plenty of kitchen ware to make for a pleasurable stay [perhaps a small wok would be useful - but that's not a complaint]. The views from the front balcony are relaxing and to have the choice of the side balcony too, makes it ideal for whichever way the wind blows. We shall most definitely be back for another visit sometime soon. Can't think of a negative thing to say. Kath and Ken from Kent

Toadhall Cottages were efficient, friendly and most importantly always at the end of a phone with a cheerful and helpful representative. Highly recommend.

Fabulous top floor apartment with beautiful views of Hope cove and the sea with amazing sunsets. 2 minute walk to the village shop, pub and other hospitality venues.

Churchill View, Landmark Road, Salcombe. This looks a lovely property but the owners don't maintain it. Two of the three (downstairs and upstairs double) bedrooms were damp and mouldy on outer wall and windows this included black mould which had also transferred onto the lampshade plugs. The bedrooms smelt of damp also. Black mould on upper window of living room. Garden not secure for dogs because of gaps. Refused to stay at property because of black mould and damp. Toad Hall arranged another property, Spindrift which we were very pleased with. Thank you to Billy for the time and effort he made to find me another bungalow. The owner of Churchill View needs to listen to customers and actually sort out the mould and damp. I've asked Toad Hall to actually visit the property before it is let out again. Black mould and damp is not a acceptable for a property which cost £1400 a week to let. Seascape and Spindrift were much better because the owners maintain damp and mould. Owner of Churchill View needs to do the same and give their customers a better experience. Toad Hall should take properties which customers have complained about because they have damp and black mould off their website.

As returning customers, we found booking very easy. Staff are helpful and property and location details accurate. Properties are of a high standard and well-equipped.

Spacious and well equipped house, very clean.

The setting of lady Pamela's cottage was great set in beautiful well kept grounds it was a joy to stay and will revisit again, the location is also a stones throw from looe and other attractions in the area

We had a great time , weather was fantastic.There were a few downside s to the property though.The garden was a bit overgrown in parts ,and I understand it's difficult to keep in check with guests staying there,but is a lovely garden with a good variety of plants and shrubs and would be a shame if the invasive weeds and shrubs took over.There was a damp musty smell and black mould beginning to form on the downstairs bedroom rear wall ,the owner must know about it as there were dehumidifiers in the room.There was no wardrobe to hang clothes or mirror either.There is a note for dog owners not to let dogs on the sofas but clearly they do and lounge carpet needs a good clean.We tried to find a tea pot but there's was none just coffee pots etc.Saying that the kitchen is good and plenty of plates glasses mugs etc.Thats the niggles over with then.
The property is in a Beautiful location with good off road parking /on road parking and good views from the garden decking areas although the steps at top are a bit rough but description states that they are.A good walk can be had down to north beach down the track just around the corner from the house.
Excellent hot water ,bathrooms are great with good showers and even a bath in one.3 ensuite s also a cloakroom downstairs.
Buzzards flying overhead can be seen from the lounge window
Bats flying up and down at night,
Good walk down and back to the town .
Bus service nearby if you want to skip the walk back to property.
Hired a boat for an hour from the harbour which we thoroughly enjoyed
Enjoyed our stay immensely at the property and would recommend it if the minor niggles we had were addressed and salcombe is a beautiful place to stay.

This was our fourth visit to Helford Passage. Amazing place to recharge our batteries. Lots of coastal walking and paddle boarding. Property was immaculately clean. Location was perfect. Cannot fault anything. Already thinking about booking again later in the year.

Have used Toad Hall Cottages for a number of years. The properties are of a high standard and on the odd occasion where we have had a query they have been quick to resolve.

We've booked through Toad Hall for the last couple of years, always good service and a great choice of lovely properties.

Very friendly and helpful easy to book sorted me key safe numbers again has when arrived to holiday home had lost email and it was late afternoon on the Saturday but lovely young lady sorted it

Online booking of 4 Florence Cottage Torcross and conversation with Rachel promising however on arrival housekeeping standards were noted to be poor, dog hairs, crumbs in biscuit barrel, dirty mats, black sludge in shower, unwashed oven trays, wood covered in algae in back yard, dirty blind in bathroom, towels hard and scratchy. Shower door broken, fridge storage tray missing, front porch door challenging to lock, chipped crockery, double outside seat at front broken. Wanting to make the most of our hard earned break we decided to overlook these and continue without complaint until I stripped the bedding to reveal the blood and urine stained mattress and urine stained duvet. Reporting this to Adam at the earliest opportunity on Monday of our return he agreed to make a site visit. The following week I received a reply acknowledging my findings relaying apologies from the owner and cleaner. I viewed the stained mattress, bedding and unclean shower a potential health hazard he viewed it fit for purpose and held on to the view this holiday let met with THC 4* rating and standard…very good to excellent. Home from home!
Financial recompense refused. We will not use or recommend to others Toad Hall Cottages.

We booked a property in Salcombe, Devon with Toad Hall and upon arrival we noticed the property covered in black dog hair, toilets dirty, toilet roll dirty and outdoor area covered in bird poo and old blankets lying around. I rang to complain and the first lady I spoke to was very apologetic and would try to get hold of house keeping. Due to the time of arrival, it was too late to get hold of someone and they'd ring back in the morning. Upon further inspection, we noticed all bedding was covered in hair and on some bedding other black foreign bodies and we booked alternative accommodation for our first night, as we didn't feel comfortable staying.
I emailed Toad Hall with evidence and requested a call back and for house keeping to come back round and change the bedding and clean the property. I received a response from someone at Toad Hall called Adam who apologised and said he'll come round and "remove the hair" and said the bedding is clean (clearly isn't) and not replace the bedding.
We met at the property the following morning and Adam (assuming the manager) found the property to be acceptable standard and didn't see what the issue with the black hair all over the bedding and he would sleep in it and so would most people. Pretty sure Adam is in the minority!!!
He did agree to get house keeping back round to change the bedding and clean the toilet. When I mentioned about some more of compensation for staying in a hotel, his response was "no chance the property is acceptable", great customer service!!!
When house keeping arrived (contracted cleaning, not part of Toad Hall) they very apologetic and explained a black dog had been in the property with dog hair every where and funnily enough agreed the property was unacceptable and they wouldn't of slept in the bed.
The had no idea there was an outdoor seating area (as it was above the property) and they've never cleaned the area. They were going to complain to Toad Hall, as the area is not fit for purpose and the property is advertised with an outdoor seating area.
During the course of our stay, we found a number of other issues. A used pair of contact lenses on the side of the bath, old chair rusting, old pipe dumped under a hedge rusting. If young kids were to stay in the property, they could easily cut themselves on the rusty chair and pipework.

I’ve holidayed with Toad Hall Cottages many times in the past over the last 10 or so years. Always been a pleasure. This holiday was me and my partner staying in the lovely ‘Stable Barn’ just outside of Slapton.

The property was overall very cosy, well equipped, and private. All our needs were looked after by the cottage owner, Jude, who absolutely went the extra mile from the get go.

We did have a couple of issues through the holiday, namely with the bed collapsing from a freak accident whilst we slept.
This however was sorted within less than a day by Jude, who kept everything incredibly polite, understanding, and professional.
Before the next day was done, me and my partner were already laughing about it, namely how it was a freak accident that you don’t expect.
Despite all of this, we had a wonderful stay and it was a holiday for the history books. Memorable, pleasant, and just a wonderful place to be.
Would highly recommend for any couples (young or old) who want a getaway

We have used THC on 3 separate occasions in recent years and will do so again. Properties available are accurately described with clear schedules of main property appliances/features, locations are travel directions. Staff are welcoming and friendly with clear prompt communication. The booking and payment process is seamless and very easy to use.
