Cosy, well equipped and very comfortable cottage - we loved it

Excellent responsive service from Toad Hall cottages. I have recommended to friends already. I felt they exceeded expectations from a holiday cottage company!

We have stopped at this property before every thing you need.Very good for the beach having our fur boys with us.
Had food out in Looe also take aways brilliant!! Would definitely use Toad Hall again as we have in the past.Also Gypsy what a great location.

We had another lovely stay in Moorlands Barn this week. I read the last review, but I can confirm that the Barn is very clean. No insects nor codwebs anywhere!! Very cosy and warm and everything you need is there. The village has a good pub. And you are in The National Park, so the Moors are just outside your door, inviting you for lovely walks. The owners were very helpfull in every respect.

Easy to work with, clear communications, online profiles accurately reflected the property, and it was a great location. We had a wonderful trouble free break. It was nice they had branches in the local area (South Devon) - as although we didn't need to go in, just walking past and seeing manned branches made you feel a level of comfort you could see someone for help if needed.

Have booked through Toadhall cottages every year for lots of years. Always a great experience with friendly professional staff.

Was a really lovely holiday home , very dog friendly with secure outside , lovely big rooms , really enjoyed our stay and definitely would go back , only thing I would say is keep up to date with defrosting the freezer as it was full of ice so we couldn’t use it ,or replace with frost free if time constraints stop this , but we would definitely return very well situated for all the places to visit 😊

Easy to book, clear property details and directions to property

The property we stayed in was fantastic, very clean well maintained. Very comfortable, the view was amazing nice touch was a welcome pack, contacted the office as the handrail down to the property had come loose some one came out straight away and fixed it, I can’t praise Toadhall staff enough they are very helpful knowledgeable and friendly, would recommend this company to anyone looking for a relaxed and easy process to book

The location, set in one of the most beautiful Dartmoor valleys, is perfect for a relaxing and peaceful escape from the bustle of everyday life.
The accommodation is spacious and comfortable and comes with all modern amenities. Internet connections are good.
Customer service from both the managing company and the local household team is courteous, efficient and helpful - first class all round. Customer feedback is acknowledged and acted upon.

Terrible service. We booked a 3-night stay in Salcombe and were extremely disappointed on arrival. The flat was filthy covered in dust, cobwebs, and even spiders. It clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned. We took photos as evidence and reported it immediately, but the response was dismissive and nothing was done to resolve the situation. When my wife requested a refund, it was ignored.If this isn’t addressed, we’ll be escalating the matter and pursuing formal complaints and legal action. Very unprofessional and completely unacceptable. Avoid they are nothing more than common crooks....in addition 99% of their 5 star reviews are fake. Avoid you have been warned

We had a fabulous time, with 4 generations- a superb location which couldn’t be bettered.
It’s not perfect, some aspects a little tired - but nothing that couldn’t be forgiven.
We would love to return.

We booked a 1 week holiday let at Coach End, Lymington in the New Forest and were looking forward to a lovely relaxing time there.

We were very underwhelmed by the presentation and feel of the property on arrival. It is very dated and doesn’t feel it has been freshened up for holiday letting in quite a time, it had the feel that someone is already living there and had just popped out - we felt like we were trespassing and unsettled there. It disappointed us to such an extent that we returned home after 2 hours and did not stay at the property at all.

Toad Hall rates the property as 3.5 star “Noticeably better quality than 3 star… which is - A more caring and contemporary approach to presentation with the overall effect making the property attactive, well cared for, welcoming and well equipped.”

Our view is that the property was barely 1 star “It has as all the basic necessities but would appear to be dated with little that is new or smart. However it achieves minimum standards and the presentation is reflected in the price.”

I contacted Toad Hall and advised them of our unhappiness with the cottage and that we had left without staying there. Their reply thanked us for letting them know and asked if they could assist with anything. I replied with more details of our experience regarding the presentation and feel of the property, outlining that we have previously been happy with our holiday cottage rentals with Toad Hall , but given the significance of cutting short the whole of our holiday and how dismaying that was to do, it had dented our confidence in their service. Toad Hall acknowledged how disappointed we were and hoped we would book again with them in the future.

Clearly no one would cut short the whole of their holiday without very good reason. There has been scant interest shown in our experience and feedback other than a courtesy reply to emails. The customer service shown by Toad Hall feels more like they are going through the motions rather than genuine interest as to our experience of their service.

We have booked many times with Toad Hall Cottages and always had a great experience and holiday. The property is as described, clean, and everything works. Booking is simple and communication has been great.
